Since I was having them come I had them tinker with our Sub-zero - fix the lights and clean the coils, and finesse the ignition on the Wolf range. All these appliances date from 2000 and with upkeep are still going strong. Jose really knows his appliances and how to keep them working, and offers great tips. I felt so reassured knowing these workhorses still had plenty of life left in them! They don't make this kind of quality anymore. I arranged for a service call on a Monday to schedule for that same week on Friday. No problem and got an early morning time slot (my favorite). The front office called when the repairman was an hour away; really appreciate that. Jose showed up and could not have been nicer. He quickly took apart our Viking range/stove and identified the problem. He talked us through our options and pricing so we could make the best decision. He was pleasant, professional and very quick with the repairs. He even diagnosed that our burners were not calibrated correctly and fixed that for us! Exceptional service and professionalism. I contacted Premium for a job in Lemont because the Premium website showed that they had an office in town. When I called to set up an appointment, the woman who answered said they service Lemont but they do not have an office there and the statement on the site was "just for marketing purposes." In any event, the tech came out the same day and replaced the ignitor in the oven. The job took 15 to 20 minutes and the charge came to $268.00 after a $10 coupon deduction. I thought the cost was high so I called two other appliance repair shops just to see what the going rate to replace an ignitor was and they came in at $180 and $190 respectively. So, whenever possible, compare prices before committing to Premium's $99.00 nonrefundable service charge. read more

The most professional appliance repair company I've ever worked with. I was so happy that I was introduced to them by the company I'm renting through. I've lived through the disaster of Apt repairs (purchased my SubZero, Miele, Scotsman, Fisher & Paykel dishwashers, Maytag, etc. from them), many other companies and never found anyone like them. From the Miele to the SubZero to the La Cornue cooktop from France, they know it all. The office staff coordinates, communicates and actually tells the repair staff what to do. They are too fast; Sundays, holidays, you name it you'll hear from them. And it doesn't hurt that the kitchen appliance repair man is also a great cook and taught me many things unrelated to appliance repair issues. These guys are the best! When they couldn't fix my dishwasher, they were on the phone with the appliance store negotiating a great deal for a new one on my behalf. They also took a look at my drier without cost for a second consultation. If I ever need to get a repair, today's consultation fee can be applied to another dishwasher repair within the next year. Better Business Bureau "A-" accredited and *FIVE* (out of five) 5-star Yelp ratings, pretty much gave me confidence that I couldn't go wrong with these guys. And they lived up to my expectations. I called a few other places before this one: the first (recommended by my appliance store), and the second (an "A+" BBB accredited, but *not* a Yelp favorite). Not only were their service call prices higher, but neither waved that charge into the total cost as Premium Appliance Repair does. The other two places couldn't even come out until Wednesday at the earliest, whereas PAR was here same-day, within 3 hours (I called on a Saturday). This was pretty much a no-brainer. They gave us a two-hour window and the serviceman arrived right smack in the middle (most other places seem to always run 30-45 minutes LATER than the window end-time). The serviceman was courteous and professional, and fixed the problem rather quickly. But instead of rushing out as soon as the problem was corrected (as many others have done in the past), he stuck around and let our dishwasher cycle through its phases just to be sure *everything* was working properly. Imagine what a wonderful world it could be if everybody did business this way!! read more

This review is for a service call in January. The wall oven in our kitchen wasn't working properly so I scheduled an appointment. Two people came out for the service call within the allotted time. The service call cost $129, which could be credited toward any work performed. I informed them of the error message the oven was generating so based on that they called the manufacturer to look into what the options were. In the end it was cheaper for us to get a replacement oven than get the control board repaired. I'm not sure what I would have expected for a service call, but my feeling is that they could have managed this on the phone. No one actually examined the oven so I'm not sure what the purpose of the house call was. I made the appointment, they arrived, they made a call, and I paid them $129 for 10 minutes of their time and some information. read more

As a property manager for about 40 single unit condos and a handful of multi-unit buildings, finding reliable contractors is a major plus. I cannot say enough about Premium Appliance Repair!! Prior to finding these guys I was stuck using companies like Sears etc.. who would give me ridiculous time frames and 9 out of 10 times would be late anyway or never show up. The service call was not absorbed into the total cost of the bill with these places either. Premium is fantastic, they have great hours, and exceptional and reliable service. Gotta give credit where credit is due, and this company earned 5 stars hands down today. I found them from all the great reviews on YELP last night, after our dryer stopped blowing hot air to dry the clothes. I called them at 10am this morning (SUNDAY!) and they sent Jose out in about an hour. Totally amazing and unexpected. I thought for sure we'd be making an appointment into the next week sometime. He arrived promptly, and I told him the issue. Jose investigated a few possible causes and determined it was the gas coil something or other. This took all of about five or six minutes. Had the parts in his truck, and repaired my dryer in no time. Fastest repair ever. He then gave us a lot of helpful information for better maintenance, demonstrated how to clean the inside of the washer so it doesn't get smelly in the future, how much soap we should actually be using. We learned a lot from him about improving the performance and lifespan of our washer and dryer. Then he cleaned up the lint on the inside of the machine since he had it apart, and was simply all around a nice, pleasant guy. Even our non-appliance small talk was great. This review is overdue by a few months. My oven broke and my girl and I searched Yelp for a repair guy. We found this place with great reviews and decided to give them a call and I spoke with Jose who over the phone who spoke very well and basically told me what to expect. I told him lets do it and on the day of appointment, I couldn't be there so my girl met him and she was very pleased and comfortable with Jose. He actually brought his ipad just to show my girl what the problem and fix was. He showed her a few choices with different prices on the part we needed and allowed her to choose which one we wanted. His point was to show you that what he is charging you for the part is what the part actually cost. What you will be paying for besides the part is the labor. He wasn't cheap but far from expensive and when it comes to gas appliances, I have no problems paying a expert to come in and do it right. Overall I will give Jose and I think it is his brother as his partner in the business 5 stars for the service,price and professionalism that Jose provided. I found this company here on Yelp, thanks to all the yelpers. I called, and spoke to a woman named Dianne. She was surprisingly friendly and accommodated me with an appointment the next day. I informed Dianne that my condo flooded and I needed an appliance tech to come out and check to make sure my appliances worked. She gave me a time frame between 10am - 2pm, and I have never had anyone show up exactly at 10am, but there they were. The appliance tech's name was Jose. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about my appliances. He came in, checked all my appliances and within 30 minutes.. we were done. He answered any questions and concerns I had about my appliances, and even threw a few tips my way on keeping my appliances running longer without them breaking down. My appliances ended up working fine and I did not need any parts or replacements. Great company from the begging to the end. I highly recommend anyone to choose this company as their to go to appliance repair company. read more

Had a dishwasher that wasn't working. Was told there was a non-refundable fee of $159, which is a bit high, but OK, it goes towards the repair. Turned out it was mouse nest that was affecting a sensor. Got that removed and the dishwasher was working again. Took less than an hour and no parts, so I had hoped the $159 was plenty. But alas, the rate for "Dishwasher repair" as the invoice stated, is $209. A bit steep, all things considered. As this appears to be the absolute minimum (no actual repair done), it would have been nice to have this stated up front. read more

Recently had a oven failure. Was pretty much resigned to needing a new one, because who reliably repairs appliances anymore...or so I thought. Called Premium and went through a very simple and efficient appointment setup. The operator was courteous and clearly explained the cost for the visit and gave a manageable window for the appointment. The person also made sure to get the brand, in our case a Fridgidaire. On the day of the appointment Ricardo called to give us a more precise arrival time. He arrived and really did a 5 star job. Quickly identified the problem and described what need to be done. Also went above and beyond with advice on cleaning and maintenance. Also gave us some realistic advice on an issue we have with another appliance. Will absolutely 100% use this company again. I'm a tough critic and I really don't have tons of free time so it is pretty rare that I make the time to review services. However, given the outstanding service I received from Premium Appliance Repair and Jose, I felt I should make an exception. My Maytag washer/dryer went out and was leaving a puddle of water on the floor. I called a number of service people based on Yelp scores and found that Diane at Premium could get someone to me same day and they were priced competitively. I received a phone courtesy phone call to let me know that the repair tech was on his way 20 minutes before he arrived. He arrived on time, kept the work area neat and was efficient in diagnosing the problem and, fortunately, had the part needed on his truck. He was very pleasant, answered all of my questions and completed within an hour. Payment was accepted via credit card swipe on an iPad making everything even easier. I would definitely use Premium if I had any other issues and commend Jose and Diane. read more

Had a washer in a rental unit that went bad. Jose came out (on time) and diagnosed the issue. He then went on to tell us that the parts should not have failed in a washer that new. He said he would have to charge us retail for the parts, but said if we contacted the manufacturer direct, they might sell us parts for less because of the earlier than normal failure. That advice saved us about $125.00 Jose showed up on time, was very polite, knowledgable and took care of the problem. Not sure how you can go wrong with these guys. read more

I didn't hire this company and I'm primarily rating them on their minimum charge which is $149.00. This is a bit much to pay if they make a house call and it is determined that the problem was something minor like the power cord being unplugged or needs replacement. 12/4/14 update The owner of this company has continued to harass me with half a dozen phone calls regarding the fees regarding the third service call. Since the dryer is exhibiting the same symptoms as the first and second calls Premium Appliance Repair was called out on I fully expected to have to pay for parts but not for an additional service charge of $189.00 for the first hour. However the owner, Ted, was unwilling to come out at his own expense to try and rectify this situation. We have contacted a different service company that has referrals from Maytag directly to resolve this issue. FYI the first service call they replaced a gas coil (this was not needed) the second service call they sent out a duct cleaning service to clean out the dryer duct ( should have been done first IMO but Premium Appliance does not do this service) and we are still experiencing problematic dryer issues with the dryer not cycling properly. ************************************************************************************************ arrived on time; excellent customer service, reasonable pricing. however does not offer full service repair company expect to pay a premium and to have to call several companies for one simple problem. read more

Our oven wasn't heating up anymore, so we called Premium Appliance Repair. I called Wednesday afternoon and was told that the service call would cost $90.00, but would be wrapped into the total cost of the job. Jose came out Thursday afternoon. Within two minutes, he pulled out the burnt ignitor and replaced it. It took a total of ten minutes. The total cost to replace the ignitor was $243.00, but I believe the ignitor itself costs $70.00. I didn't think the total cost was the cheapest, but it seems to be in line with industry standards. I would use Premium Appliance Repair again. read more

Literally the best. Our oven was taking an hour to preheat which was clearly not sustainable. Our property manager (Jennifer @ Fulton Grace) contacted Diane at Premium Appliance Repair and Diane was able to schedule our appointment for the next day. Jose and his colleague came right at the start of their maintenance window and fixed the oven (replacing the ignitor) in what felt like 30 seconds. Needed a freezer door realignment. Several days later Jose arrived for the appointment. Found the problem to be a minor adjustment with the hinges and a slight straightening of the door by some bending.Problem solved, tight seal. Very hospitable and answered all my questions.
