THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS! I originally scheduled a service call to repair my Whirlpool washer, but decided to cancel once I knew I couldn't make the appointment. The technician still arrived and told me it was still $80 for the service call. I paid him, but he agreed to only charge me an additional $80 once he came the following week since I was rescheduling ($160 total). After I called to confirm the rescheduled time, they tried to charge me the full $160 again, even though I showed him proof that I already paid $80 for him coming the previous week (and doing no work!) This would have made it $240, which was not what we agreed upon. I asked for a refund and they declined then decided to curse me out and block me. They displayed horrible customer service and lied about the agreement we had. Do Not Use Them! read more

We rent out my old condo in Chicago and our tenant messaged us that the washing machine stopped working in mid-cycle. I poked around on Yelp to find a repair business to reach out to and saw Skyline had appointment booking via text. I sent a message and heard back pretty quickly asking for photos of the unit and what the problem was. I got an estimate with the caveat that it may be higher if there's a bigger mechanical failure involved) and we were able to schedule something for the next day. As someone who is busy and on the phone most of the day I was pretty psyched that I could do this all via text! They arrived the next day as scheduled and fixed the problem quickly. The price was as discussed (since there wasn't anything super complicated about it) and I was emailed an invoice and settled up right away. Anyways, I had a bunch of companies reply, but Horacio with Skyline Appliance Repair seemed very the most straightforward and honest. We have a gas leak in our stove and needed someone to come diagnose the issue. They came out the very next day and discovered that the leak was in the pipe itself, not just a particular burner as we suspected. Our old clothes washer was out of balance in the spin cycle and started leaking water onto the basement floor. Skyline responded promptly and sent Oscar out to check on the problem. Paid for a repair technician come out to diagnose our washer/dryer issue on 12/14. Following paying for only the diagnosis, I had to call multiple times to receive a response on next steps/getting the parts ordered. 2 weeks following initial visit (after I left multiple voicemails), I was finally called back and was told the parts were ordered but were on backorder, and they would get back to us in mid-January. Since then, I have received no updates despite leaving voicemails requesting for status updates. Seems to be a total scam as we paid for the technician to only diagnose the issue but then to have Skyline never follow through on fixing the actual problem. 2 months later and the issue still remains - would highly recommend avoiding Skyline for any appliance repairs. I recently had an old washer/dryer single unit machine that was making a concerning noise. After consulting a website for recommendations, they provided a few options and Horatio reached out personally to me to discuss my issue. The quote to come out was very reasonable. $60 for the diagnosis and visit, and $60 for labor, not including parts. As my machine was inexpensive to begin with ($1400), I felt it was worth the time to have someone come see what I was worried about. They sent a technician (Oscar) to my home, and he was there within the timeline provided. Oscar was honest, forthcoming and basically said that the noise was the result of my machine being older than most when it comes to the lifetime of this model. To change the transmission would be around $600, so he smiled when I obviously said I would use the machine until it was no longer able to work. This company does major appliance repair for Washers, Dryers, Dishwashers, Stoves, and Refrigerators. Oscar was here for 30 minutes total, and the cost of his visit was $60, before tip. I will certainly recommend this company for their professionalism and honesty. As my place is going for sale soon, I suspect I'll have a need for more repairs. This company is the one I will use from now on, and I ask that if you have a problem moving forward- try this one. read more

One of my tenants had issues with their dishwasher because the soap dispenser was not opening during the cycle. Horacio was understanding in scheduling our appointment so that my tenant would be present. On the day of the appointment Oscar called me 30 minutes prior to his arrival. After troubleshooting the dishwasher Oscar determined that it was a mechanical issue in terms of the door being blocked due to the arrangement of the dishwasher tray. Oscar was very professional and he told me and my tenant exactly what the issue was . We called to get an appointment and quote. We talked about our dish washer and fridge. The water from the fridge was not coming out but it was still making ice. I mentioned maybe we needed to change the water filter first and Horiacio said if the ice maker is working it's not the water filter. He quoted me $120 to fix the dishwasher since it wasn't draining and $150 for the fridge. Horiacio sent out one of his technicians. The technician said he was running late and on his way and that he didn't know what he was going to fix. Thus I explained. The tech said it could very well be the water filter which I did not replace because Horiacio said not to. Thus we rescheduled the appointment for 3 days later so we could get a new water filter. Plus he was running late any ways. Also, Mark was at home the entire time. I told Oscar he could wait for me to get a water filter to bring it over for the fridge so he wouldn't have to do 2 trips but he had an appointment after. Thus we made it for Friday. A day later Horiacio shoots me an anger message to find another company and that he won't be servicing us. Thus he's mad because he wanted his company to make the money on the dishwasher and the fridge. It felt very dishonest because he's a LIAR. Seems like it's a hit or miss with this company/ guy. He's angry, grumpy, unprofessional and all about the money. It's a bit shady really. He's not only greedy but a lair. Do NOT trust him. He is a LIAR and trying to make extra money by not having me change out the fridge water filter. My income has been affected by Covid and I asked if we could $200 cash for both appliances plus parts but he got so upset and said to only do one appliance but that changing out the water filter will not help when Oscar the technician said it could . This way he could make $270 for sure.. how GREEDY and what a LIAR!!! He does not deserve my business. ALSO- look at the reviews - other people have given him a one star for similar reasons ...obviously I'm not the only person with this experience with him. SHADY !! Horiacio - I know you have lots of appliances to fix but you really need to adjust your attitude and temper. Also lying is not okay to make more money. Not only were they available for same day, but our technician called me an hour in advance that he had finished another appointment and could early. After GE Appliance Repair canceled on me the morning of my appointment because they "overbooked" appointments, leaving me high and dry for a needed repair, I called Skyline who was able to come out within the hour to fix my GE combo Washer-Dryer. For some reason, when I wanted to turn on the washer, the spin cycle would start -- no water would enter the basin. The repairman quickly diagnosed the problem as being the pressure sensor. He was able to clear the line to allow the washer to run the correct cycle, and he cleaned out the panel which was caked in lint. He will return to install the new part when it arrives. I am very pleased that he was able to identify, correct, and repair the issue quickly. I appreciated the phone call prior to let me know that he was on his way, with an estimated time of arrival. Visit, labor and part was $205. Very affordable since GE Appliance's rate just to come out was $99. read more
