Good value and will work with you on the fixes within different budgets (and will be honest w the pros and cons of each) But what got me to write this review is my experience with Jose! So helpful, friendly , knowledgeable , and will take time to explain what's going on and what the fixes need to be (and I generally like way more detail than your average homeowner). Jose is THE MAN! He is great, actually came a little early after calling me,and immediately worked on the ice maker, gave it 100% . He ran through a number of tests gave me an initial solution - turn the power off for a couple of days and let the bladder thaw. Premium appliance repair replaced a bearing kit on my dryer today and it cost $279 installed with a one year warranty. So far everything seems OK but I do not agree with their business tactics of charging $100 just to diagnose a dryer, not willing to give any estimates before coming, and having high labor costs. They did apply the $100 towards the cost of the repair however, the part was worth maybe $30 and the labor was about 10 minutes. I was sold on the positive reviews and maybe that's a typical cost to replace this part in this area but it seems very high and I would suggest shopping around for someone with more reasonable estimates and or repair costs for their services. read more

We're currently in the midst of what seems like endless home renovations - including replacing an air conditioner - and so when our oven refused to start last night I basically just wanted to chug a bottle of wine. I outsourced the repair decision to my husband (moms can't do EVERYTHING themselves) and he called Premium Appliance Repair this morning. Service Technician came to the house to repair washing machine but did not bother to remove the two screws that enabled him to take apart the washing machine outer cover to identify what needed to be repaired. His advise was to recenter the agitator before each wash cycle or buy a new washing machine. We were charged $99.00 for that professional repair advise. I called another company who came out, disassembled the washing machine and informed us that all that was needed was a new $25.00 counter balance spring. He had the machine back up and running again with an hour and the price was reasonable. I probably would've given them 5 starts but I got a call saying he'd be there in half an hour which would've made it 3:15 and he didn't make it to my place until 3:45. My Maytag gas dryer stopped working after 15 years of trouble free service. I called PAR and explained the problem (no heat). I gave the woman on the phone the year, make of my machine. The next day I got a call from the office saying the tech was 30-45 minutes away. The tech showed up at the scheduled time. He found two worn parts and had replacement parts on the truck. I have a three year old Kitchen Aid refrigerator. This is the third repair. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with the appliance service the retailer I bought the refrigerator from recommended. I was cut off and they never called back. Thankfully I called Premium Appliance Repair and they responded the same day with the best serviceman I have encountered in a long time. He examined the refrigerator, found the issue, and fixed the problem. The service and the courtesy I received were second to none. They are the best and will be used by me from here on. They fixed the squeaky dryer! My dryer was making this REALLY loud squeaking noise. The kind that you have to turn up the tv and you're scared to have it run when you aren't home. I'm all for trying to fix stuff myself, but this was out of my league, so I called these guys again. I got an appointment when I wanted and they called and let me know the guy was on his way. If it weren't for my mobile phone, I would forever be stuck in the house waiting for someone to fix something! The guy was courteous and fixed my problem very quickly. He knew exactly what it was when I told him what was going on. He also told me it was just noisy and it wouldn't have started a fire, so now I know I can hold out for awhile next time. Do not call this company and expect your appliance to be repaired for a fair price. The person came out and looked at my dishwasher and said it needed a part and charged me $129 and then told me it would be $179 to fix it but he would have to come back. For that kind of money I could have just about paid for a new dishwasher. They need to tell you how much their service calls are before they come out. My washer was out also and he told me where I could buy a new one and I bought one at home depot for half of what he told me his price would be. So, if you want to pay double call them and have them come out twice. read more

Our almost 18 year old washing machine, a Whirlpool, stopped spinning. I tried to fix on my own by replacing the agitator dogs but that did not cut it. Then I went to look for a new one at the Sears dent and scratch location by 59 and Fox Valley Mall. I found three machines and researched reviews. I was all set to buy Maytag, a $600 special when my wife said to call a repair man first. So I did. Ted showed up and checked out the mach me and it turned out that the transmission case was cracked and leaking oil so not fixable. I asked Ted about the three machines and he gave me some advice. Forget the Kenmore, don't spend no $600 for the Maytag for anything under $1000 they all have the same basic major components, i.e. Motor and transmission... go with the $400 whirlpool. Then he surprised me and said he would make a call to a guy he knows at Abt and see if they have the whirlpool model i found at the Sears in stock. Turns out they did and it was $50 cheaper, had a $39 install deliver and haul away, and I could still to a 0% for 12 months! So he hooked me up good. Upon his departure from my residence he did have to charge me the $99 service call, but he applied a $10 coupon so it was $89. Not too bad for an honest appraisal of my situation, a better deal federal in a washer and peace of mind. I would recommend them again for sure. And if I need to call them for anything appliance related within one year I already have paid my service call, sweet because you never know when a machine is gonna crap out on ya ;) read more
