I want to start from the beginning so other customers know exactly what to expect. I texted about a vehicle listed on their website inquiring about the price. (2016 hyundai sonata ) I then called and had to get past an AI system before reaching a real person. I was told I would be transferred to a sales agent --after getting past my iPhone call screening they hung up after one ring. i called back 2x and requested to get to this sales manger and didn't hear anything within a 3h span . Despite that I still made the trip -- nearly 40 miles away -- via Uber because I genuinely needed a car. When I arrived the car I came for was already gone. A salesman sat me down at his computer and allowed me to browse their other inventory. I asked for a few minutes outside to think about my decision and came back ready to continue. I then waited hours. Not once did a single person come check on me or follow up. With only 10 minutes left before closing I selected a vehicle(2019 white tesla model 3 long range ) and rushed to try to get financing approved through my bank. My bank denied the financing not because of my credit but specifically because the mandatory $1,999 "AntiTheft Deterrent and Paint and Interior Protection" package pushed the loan over 100% LTV. This is a scam add-on that every negative review on here mentions. I asked multiple times to have the $1,999 add-on removed. They refused. I asked them to work with me on the price of the vehicle itself. They would not move a single dollar. A deal that was so close fell apart over $2,000 that they refused to budge on. i was not accommodated in any way there was no customer service aspect to the whole experience. While I was there I personally heard over 5 other customers complaining about this exact same add-on issue and concerns about warranties not being guaranteed. These are not isolated incidents this is how they operate. I am not the type to leave reviews. I support businesses and my people wholeheartedly. But what happened today was unacceptable. I Ubered almost 40 miles there and 40 miles back spending money I didn't need to spend because a deal couldn't be made over a $2,000 scam add-on that they force on every customer. Even though I visited 3 time due to my unreliable car I purchased almost immediately after purchase, the car had serious mechanical and electrical issues, leaving me without a reliable vehicle and buried in stress. During the purchase process, I was told by the dealership representative that I had to purchase a $1,999 RoadVantage interior/exterior warranty in order to complete the sale. I was specifically told that they could not sell me the car unless I bought the warranty, which made it appear to be a mandatory requirement tied to the vehicle purchase. After reviewing the contract and researching the issue, I learned that these types of products are typically optional add-ons. Under California Vehicle Code §11713.18, it is unlawful for a dealer to represent that an optional product or service is required in order to purchase or finance a vehicle. Based on the way this product was presented to me, I have submitted a cancellation request within the allowed cancellation period. Because the product was represented as mandatory at the time of sale, this matter has also been reported to the California Department of Motor Vehicles Occupational Licensing Division for review. In addition, complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the California Department of Consumer Affairs so the circumstances surrounding the transaction can be reviewed. Consumers deserve clear and transparent information about optional products before agreeing to them, especially when those products cost nearly $2,000. When you are asked to sign a large stack of documents, they do not explain the details, making it very easy to sign without fully realizing what you are agreeing to. After the deal was completed, they refused to refund this fee. You must carefully review every single document they ask you to sign -- including whether the vehicle is an accident car or an auction car. They will not proactively disclose this information, yet you end up signing papers stating that you "acknowledge and are aware of the vehicle history." Once that happens, you are forced to accept the loss. If you don't want to waste money unnecessarily, be extremely cautious with their paperwork. I called to ask about the evoque and she answered and said yes it's here , when I called back no answer so I drive an hour away and arrive bc it's the day I have off to come see it . After a week of conversing on the phone and via text, I drove 66 miles to the shop for a test drive and hopefully a purchase.. I arrived and no-one helped me. I texted my contact Mark and told him i was there and unable to locate him. After consistent immediate responses, he was suddenly no longer responding. I knocked on the door of a man sitting in an office playing on his phone, and asked to meet Mark, and he said "I can call him, but you deal with any of the sales people." When i finally sat with a sales person, I was told about the non-negotiable $2000 anti-theft tracking device added to the purchase cost of each car, (which i explained to Mark that I would not pay almost a week ago) and the fact that they include sales tax based on the purchasers zip code and not the location of the shop, (legal but incredible shady), and that there was no guarantee that these cars wouldn't need more work/repair in the near future . The biggest shock came when I asked why i hadn't met Mark yet who i had been conversing with the week prior including a 10 min phone convo, and was told that Mark is an A.I. Robot. They were all busy doing something. People were Waiting for help like waiting on Government food stamps. The sale manager on duty at this time was a rude Guy that did not want to help anyone. Others were getting the same treatment. he was acting like he was on speed or crystal meth? (which I learned from the show cops). Then, a Girl finally helped me and I learned both the cars I came to see were gone. I found another I wanted to test drive. They want to run my credit. However, I am paying cash. And was never offered the test drive After I drove 100 miles to this appt.. All the cars were covered in Mud like dirt most with dead batteries.
