And their service exceeded my expectations completely. We had not seen the property in person, yet he was very honest in letting us know that the condition of the house did not warrant a full inspection, and stated that he did not want to charge us the amount of his original estimate. He did a thorough walkthrough with us by phone and clued us in on foundation cracks and moisture (potentially mold) issues that we would have otherwise been unaware of. He also provided high resolution images that helped us to see what was going on that the seller or contractors did not tell us about. Although we lost our earnest money deposit--as apparently Indiana law does not currently require sellers to be honest in their disclosures, we learned a big lesson and saved ourselves the headache of buying a house that was more of a lemon than we bargained for. Doug was our inspector. The entire time he made us buyers feel like a waste of his time, and that…read morehe would rather be somewhere else. He was unable to complete a sewer scope, and asked us to pay for the service that was not completed. We had to argue with him that we would not be paying for a service we did not receive, and he said that they would come out another time- and tried to continue pressuring us. I was the only one in the room who did not understand the Radon test, so before agreeing to the test, I asked for an explanation, to which he gave me a roundabout answer, and acted like I was so completely idiotic for not knowing about this as a first time homebuyer. Doug missed many things on the inspection as well. HVAC company came out to look over a few things as part of the closing agreement and made notes on our furnace that the inspector missed things. He did not attempt to go to all areas of the home and give a thorough inspection of everything with the home. Doug also did not bill us correctly. He undercharged us. When that has happened to me in the past, the company takes the hit and admits their fault. Doug however, asked us to pay the balance he did not properly bill us originally. Start to finish, poor businessman. I do NOT recommend Doug. He is rude, careless, and acts as though he has better things to do. Go with another inspector and save your money.
