Fun family campground, well kept, owners always helpful. Campers are friendly and take care of each other.

STAY AWAY!!! After…read morereading the other 1-star reviews, I can confidently say our experience was very similar. The behavior we encountered was confrontational, combative, and completely irrational. Without question, this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Staff was incapable of having a professional conversation and handled the situation in an extremely unprofessional manner. We were denied use of the pontoon boat for the day we had reserved. Rather than simply refunding that day, he abruptly canceled and refunded the remaining three days of our rental as well, then told us to leave. The entire interaction was completely unprovoked. I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who has to work under those conditions. The woman who initially helped us at the counter was kind and professional, and she appeared visibly shocked and uncomfortable with the way the staff was conducting himself and representing the business. If I were the owner, I would be deeply concerned about the quality of management and customer interactions taking place. Then again, business must be doing well if they can casually refund $1,600 and turn away paying customers without a second thought. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Hey, someone help me, how do you say this: Chautauqua? I struggled all day with trying to figure…read morethat out and still do not know how to say this. I had one condition to go on this road trip, I wanted to stop and see the Scary Lucy Statue. After seeing it online a few years ago, I just wanted to see it in person. We mapped it out and found our way to this park. The park, overall, is beautiful and a complete asset. There are pavilions, a boat slip, a playground, restrooms, and plenty of seating. When you park at the park and start to walk towards the grounds you are greeted by Lucy. Not Scary Lucy, but the Nice Lucy. The Lucy that commanded your attention as she is about to make her skirt flow. Almost like she was there to welcome you into the park and tell you to enjoy yourself while here. Weirdly enough, this statue, the more welcoming statue, is the older of the two statues of the park. We then made our way over to the Scary Lucy statue. Oof, what a statue it is. Unveiled in 2009, I'm sure a lot of people had to do a double take. I know and understand that they were attempting to pay tribute to this legend, but they really missed the mark. Enjoy the picture as that was what I got to see up close. What made it a bit more scary was the amount of spiderwebs all over the statue. After we took in the statues we walked about the park and ended up by the boat slip and lighthouse. We walked out on the pier and I have to say that this is some of the clearest water I have seen in a while. While there, we assisted a couple in launching their boat, well, my brother did, I had my camera taking a tong of pictures. With the view taken in and statues seen, we decided to get on the road and keep on trucking down the road.

There is a big parking lot which makes it easy to stop and a large playground area right when you get out of your car. They also have benches and picnic areas and we spotted a small lighthouse near the water that we walked over to check out. It looked very cool. Our reason for stopping here however was obviously the statues of Lucille Ball. There are two of them. The newer prettier Lucy statue is charming and super well done. I loved seeing her in the classic polka dot dress! (My dog had on a cute little plaid dress that day so I had to get her in the photo as well) The older statue though that is referred to as the ugly one was honestly terrible. The nod to vitameatavegamin was awesome and honestly I think it probably wouldn't have seemed so bad had I not seen the pretty sculpture first, but honestly it's a little shocking. Unfortunately, it was overcast like I said so it was difficult to get good pictures of anything but if you're an Isle of Lucy fan or even just passing through the area, this park is definitely worth a visit. It only takes a few minutes to see the statues and you can enjoy some nice scenery by the water.

Before you do ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING AT ALL, have them show you the propeller regardless if there is a swim deck on the boat or not BEFORE you SIGN ANYTHING AT ALL OR TAKE IT OUT IN THE WATER. Trust me, it will save you in the end. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU HAVE READ EVERYTHING ON THE PAPER AND HAVE SEEN EVERYTHING! We ended up paying for a new propeller that "was broken" and which ended up not being the cause of us stranded in the water. According to one of the employees who opened up the motor and I quote "You are fine, it's nothing. It's just the pin." He then yelled across the parking lot to the owner "it's not the drive, it's the pin in the transmission. We just need a new pin." The owner's response "I still need to put a new prop on it." Again, we were told by the employee we were not at fault. The owner then removed the 3 blade prop, removed the plastic sheath, said that part was fine. He did not charge us for a new plastic sheath and then put a 4 blade prop on the motor, which we were charged for. Apparently after we left, they replaced the pin as we saw the same boat in the water a few hours later. So for the frustration and dishonesty from the owner, if you still rent from them, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU QUESTION EVERYTHING AND TAKE A PICTURE TO COVER YOUR BUTT. Do not trust and take your business else where.

One group (approximately seven people) was at the popular "point". They had all of their belongings, plastic containers, blankets, trash (including a hammock hanging between two trees) scattered in the entire area of the point - it looked like they were living there. It was a filthy mess. No one other than the people occupying the area could enjoy the spot; they had taken it over as if they owned it . The other group was out on the metal dock (north part of the peninsula). Three men had their fishing poles and other gear scattered at the end so no one else could walk there. ALL of these folks were likely illegals. They didn't understand English. I asked them if they caught any fish and wished them a good day; no one seemed to understand what I was saying. I don't care who I offend by pointing this out. If you came here from a (likely) third world country, assimilate, respect our standards and our citizens. We need don't need more deadbeat humans that don't give a crap. LPSP officials, please help?! Ps, there was a huge amount of trash at the picnic table near the north metal dock that some nasty human(s) left there. It's high time we start holding people accountable for their actions.
