We took our two and half-year-old toddler for a haircut. The hairdresser was very patient with the kid. Appreciate it! She made him comfortable and gave him enough time to settle. However, I felt she lacked experience and took long for a basic haircut. The overall outcome was not close to what we have shown in the pictures up front. I still gave a pretty decent tip. What threw me off and made me write this review and give two stars is her behavior when I just picked the hair dryer ( I got hairs on me holding my son) to below hairs from me; she almost snatched it from me said it costs $500. That wasn't nice! I put it down right away; however, it made me feel terrible. It ruined my entire experience. I doubt I would like to return to this place or recommend anyone. read more

Well I have been a customer of Prep's since I lived a few blocks from the SF location. Like 8/9 years. Love the owner and staff out there. My last two appointments I have been 5 and 10 min later because with a 2yr old parking downtown is impossible. I gave myself 20 min to find a spot and it wasn't enough. Parking garage full. It's the holidays so I guess expected. My last third and fourth appointment before this I had to walk around downtown with a toddler because they weren't ready. Not ideal but I'm always nice when they are running behind. I figured we were even. Came at 255 for a 245 and canceled me today and charged me the full 35. A customer with three kids that has been a client for a decade... thought they would at least nicer. The woman (she had glasses and dark hair and is the only person there always in a BAD mood) was so rude. She was sitting behind the counter no other customers and really embarrassed me while holding my baby. We send all of our classmates from three schools there. No longer. It's unfortunate most of the staff is kind and loves our baby. One woman (she has a boy cut and a heart of gold) always gives my little guy stickers and my daughter the most adorable teen cuts. This particular woman today however gives mediocre cuts and always has a terrible attitude. Parking is impossible and apparently they hate toddlers. Today was really disappointing and I won't be going back. I am making sure we tell everyone we know. Please reach out if you know a good spot for cuts in Walnut Creek. Lydiann cuts my hair and it's seriously it's the best cut ever. She's cut my hair for years now and, when I go to someone else because she's not available, it's never the same! Go, have her cut your hair. She'll listen to what you want and make it happen. Tracy colored my hair and it came out waaay too dark due to the existing color on my hair. A few weeks later Tracy waved her magic wand with a color-shampoo-bleach wash (?!?) to remove the color and mixed a new color potion. It looks amazing and I love my new color! From the minute I walked in I knew this was the place to be! I was offered a drink (I mean, a real drink lol) and was told that my stylist (Naomi). Would be right with me. I saw Naomi wrapping up with a client and could tell instantly that she had a great personality and takes care of each client. One of the worst haircuts I've ever had! Ends look like they were cut with kids' scissors. There is a VERY noticeable difference in length between the front and back. I didn't notice it because of the way the girl styled my hair (which I would never style the same way). Very disappointed. Definitely not going back again. Do not go to PREP and ask for Lydiann if you need a classic men's haircut. I explained to her many times how I wanted my hair and she simply did not follow my instructions. It feels as though she just did what was easiest for her instead of taking time to shape my hair. I asked her to blend the sides and the back and this is what I received. Honestly it's a hack job. Sometimes, the stars align and magic happens. That is what happened today, I had the day off and decided that I wanted to go and get my washed out hair color revamped! Of course I jumped on yelp to find a local salon to support and PREP was extremely responsive. They were able to get me in within an hour! I was seen by Sareena today and I HIGHLY recommend her for all of your coloring and cutting needs! My experience was 100% all around satisfactory! From the complementary sparkling water to the delightful conversation to the clean facility I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my afternoon today. I told Sareena to get creative with my hair, she is after all the stylist and I am but a canvas for the creative work!! She did a really beautiful job blending the colors and she even added some really amazing smoky grays to the tips. I would have never thought to do that!
