Everyone at the Center, from my attending Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Nurse Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists, to the Social Worker, Dietician, Housekeepers, and folks in the Cafeteria, treated me with the utmost level of professionalism, compassion, and thoughtfulness. I can genuinely say that each member of my healthcare team treated me as if I were a member of their family. I can honestly say that I would not have walked out of the Center if not for them...if not for each and everyone of them.

She said they have sponge bathed her which consists of being wiped down with diaper wipes. She is there for rehabilitation from a fractured femur and has gone to rehab 3 times in 6 days. I am more than disappointed. I called the front desk which took more than 25 rings to be answered when it was answered I asked for the nurses station and was told my call would probably not be answered because they were too busy. My mother went in healthy and completely aware of who she is and where she was. Last night she came down with a cold, fever, possibly Covid at 4:00pm the next day was finally given Tylenol to help with her fever. She was delirious and had no idea where she was. This place is awful. I am sorry we were sent here.

There are over 400 types of dementia and Silverado trains their staff in a way to recognize and support these variances instead of training their team to ONLY manage the needs of those with Alzheimer's disease. This approach takes a lot of stress away from primary care givers and family members. Dementia often comes with personality changes and behavior changes that ultimately lead to family members seeking help. We witness the staff gently redirecting our loved one, treating her with dignity, recognizing and celebrating who she was before the disease and who she is now, stimulating her mentally, and generally providing compassionate and loving care. This has a lot to do with the current administration in place and how strong the Silverado St. Charles care team is. The facility is new, beautiful, all on one floor (makes us feel good in case of emergencies), and a calm and peaceful place. Leadership is responsive and communicative with families and they did a great job of explaining their positions and thought behind COVID19 changes to processes and procedures. We as family members felt part of the solution and part of defining what the new normal is for our loved one. My family and I highly recommend Silverado St. Charles if you are looking for a safe and caring community for your loved one where they are treated with respect and dignified.

The staff/ nurses and director of this facility were extremely negligent and put several lives in jeopardy. I am a care giver who was placed here through an agency to assist a sweet elderly client on overnights. There were several nights my client was in pain from her legs and when I would go to advise the nurse, they seem bothered and annoyed. The incident however that really upset me was one night I was there, I came in at 8:30 pm, my client seemed a bit sick as I noticed the tissues in her hand and bed. As the night progressed I noticed she had a very frequent, tight cough. I went and advised the nurse on staff and inquired if she had recently been tested for Covid. The nurse said my client had "several days ago" I responded well several days ago she wasn't showing symptoms and now she is. The nurse still brushed it off and never tested her. The next morning and day my client mingled with other seniors in the facility. I advised my agency I wouldn't be going back the next night until they tested her. Not sure who lied rather it was my agency Always Best Care or a nurse at this facility but I was informed by ABC that a nurse at this facility advised them that she was tested and negative. When I drove in that night I asked my client if they tested her and she said no. I immediately had the nurse on site test her as I became upset and guess what, she tested POSITIVE! When I reached out to the director Sarah Mckan director at the facility to advise of what happened she did not apologize and even said "well you were already exposed the night before" I said yes and yet she wasn't tested when I asked she should and then spent the whole day with other seniors possibly spreading it she said "well yea I guess" I asked that she follow up with me to let me know what the outcome of investigation was and she never did. Received a call from ABC today advising that this facility does not want me to come back. Why because I care more for my client and the patients there than the facility workers? Because I alerted you of negligence from your staff? Interesting. We'll see what the health department has to say about th

While the…read moreinsurance was in effect, we were pleased with the staff communication and many therapies she was receiving. However, when we began to question why she was not being seen for the medical problem that placed her there, they could not provide an answer, that was our first red flag. Then after her insurance ran out and we were being charged $290/day, the communication we received was basically non-existent. After her 2 weeks were up, we tried for an additional 6 days to get her released. However, Bria was unable to produce the required paperwork to allow her to be readmitted to her established assisted living facility. This was very frustrating as they would not communicate with me about the hold-up and just kept saying it was complete when it wasn't. Meanwhile, in an attempt to straighten out the problem, her assisted living facility tried to contact directly Bria but they were unsuccessful as well. Messages left at the front desk were not received and there is no voice mail option. Even if we were able to talk to a person and they made promises, they were not carried through. Getting mom on the phone was almost impossible. I got to mom once after 13 attempts! Reception either would not have her correct room number, transfer me to the incorrect nurse's station, sometimes her room phone did not work, or they would transfer me to another patient with a similar name. When we drove an hour to visit mom after her COVID quarantine was up, they said they had lost the previously emailed "prescreen paperwork", though they did go look for it and ultimately found it when pressed. We were forced to pay upfront for multiple days of care at $290/day and promised that a refund would be timely once she was released, however that was also not the case. It took multiple phone calls and a variety of excuses to finally get a refund for days we overpaid. There were some clear standouts at this location, Caroline and Patti were outstanding, but everyone else we encountered did not seem to know what they were doing. I do not recommend this location.

On more than one occasion, I risked my personal safety attempting to reach clients during winter storms, with little regard shown for caregiver well-being or road conditions. The pressure to "make it work" regardless of weather was overwhelming and unsafe. My employment was ultimately terminated without prior written warnings or progressive discipline, despite my efforts to communicate concerns and remain professional under stressful circumstances. The termination process felt abrupt, unsupported, and lacking transparency. Caregiving is already emotionally and physically demanding. Caregivers deserve clear communication, reasonable safety considerations, and fair treatment--especially when they are putting their lives at risk to care for vulnerable clients. Based on my experience, I would caution prospective caregivers to carefully consider how this company handles safety, communication, and employee concerns.
