Jerry's Records made me fall in love with my record player. I couldn't have asked for a better…read morestore to help me build my collection. I can always find something I'm interested in for $10 or less. Jerry's is a third place to me. It's a must visit every time I'm back in Pittsburgh! Jerry's is estimated to have over 500,000 records. Here's what I've learned from my two years in Pittsburgh to help sort through the collection: 1. Best sellers are located upfront. Normally there's a few of each artist: The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rush, Aerosmith, and many more. Price range between $20-60 2. For people starting out, Jerry's has a lot of well known albums and artists for $7-8 a record. Common finds: Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Santana, REO Speedwagon, Jefferson Starship/Jefferson Airplane, Elton John, STYX, and Chicago. 3. Huge Christmas selection in the $3-20 range. They likely have what you're looking for. My boyfriend's mom was looking for Christmas with Mitch for many years. She found 8 copies at Jerry's Records in less than 15 minutes. 4. There's a large Broadway and musical soundtrack section tucked in the corner down the first hallway on the right. Normally they are about $5-15. 5. Before checking out, look at the record and sleeve for damages. From experience, most priced above $7 play really well. They may have a few crackles, but a quick wash takes most of that away. Things in the $3 range are risky.

Excellent selection and friendly knowledgeable staff. Could be a dangerous place without a spending…read morelimit!!!

Why did that stop for you? Walking into the Exchange takes you through generations of different collections and endless shelves of cool games. It is basically like walking through a real life eBay. They buy collections to resell back to the public. It makes every excursion different as you never know what may have been sold to the store and what new things may be out on the floor. The place is always super organized. The staff is very attentive... even to alway greet you on your way in and out. Everything is kept clean to make it simple to look through thousands of items. I'd recommend setting aside more time than you think... because you for sure will spend more time in here than expected!

They have a pretty extensive selection of CDs, DVDs, albums, video games, and memorabilia at a wide range of price points. I especially enjoyed browsing the large selection of TV DVD box sets. Prices seem pretty good for the condition of the used items. The CD I purchased was $10, which at first glance seemed kind of high, but a quick search on Amazon showed me it was a pretty good deal. They also have a rewards program that's free to sign up for and can earn you a discount on future purchases. The employees are very friendly and helpful, and seem very knowledgeable about the products. The only not so great thing about shopping the store is that the majority of the products are kept in locked cases, apparently as much for organizational purposes as to deter theft according to an employee I overheard discussing it with another customer. The employees are happy to unlock whatever cases you need and patiently give you the time to read the packaging and decide if you want to purchase an item or not, but it can make you feel rushed to make a decision once the case is unlocked and they're waiting for you to decide before they re-lock it. And if the store is busy, you might have to wait a bit for an employee to be free and able to help you. Overall though, a fun place to browse and maybe pick up something to add to your media collection.
