The two panes had a memorial inscription which needed a name added. Art Glass completed the job on time and within budget. the name was inscribed to the pane and the reinstall was scheduled. Greg kept in touch with us during the process. The installation was completed and the Art Glass team cleaned up before they left. We were very happy with his follow up and the finished panes look like they were part of the original window. Greg and his team were a pleasure to work with. I cannot say enough good things about Preston Art Glass! I was about to show my house to a…read morepotential buyer on a Saturday, but of course on Wednesday a small pane of stained glass broke out of the decorative piece next to my front door. I went into the shop on Wednesday morning and scheduled Jacob to come out on Friday to replace both sides of the door with regular glass. When Jacob arrived, he said he'd probably be able to fix the pane and keep the window original. Jacob took the entire piece out, took it back to his shop and brought it back within an hour. He installed it and even washed the window. By the time he left, you would have never known anything had happened. AND...it was cheaper than I anticipated! This was such a relief! My friend and I took a fun glass fusion class at Glass Workbench! We did have one hiccup when we…read morearrived - the shop was locked since the class took place after their regular business hours. We were eventually let into the store and directed to the shop basement where the class took place. Our class instructor was laid back but very knowledgeable throughout the process. He guided us on how to cut and arrange our glass pieces and had a few examples available for inspiration. I will say...the glass cutting was a little dangerous with tiny glass shards flying in all directions. I do wish I was instructed beforehand to bring protective eyewear just in case. My friend got a few cuts on her hands as well. The shop had a large variety of glass colors to choose from and it was very fun to get creative with our projects. We each made 3 glass suncatchers during our ~2-hour class. It was a real "trust the process" experience, as I was not sure how my pieces would turn out after arranging my glass. However, they turned out beautifully! We were instructed to wait one week to come pick up our pieces after they were fired at the shop. They kindly placed holes in our pieces to hang, but only provided string. I decided to reinforce my suncatchers with jump rings and chain. I love how they turned out!!

They'll even design and make custom stained glass windows and wall hangings for you, and can make decorative keepsakes out of your wine bottles. They also sell glass jewelry hand-made by several local artists, and sometimes the shop owner will even set up a blow torch and make hot-glass beads right there in front of you; it's very cool to watch. I've bought several glass pendants here for my artsy wife and they are some of her favorite pieces of jewelry. This place also offers classes in making stained glass, mosaics, fused glass, and bead-making. My wife convinced me to take a glass bead-making class here with her and, although making jewelry isn't really something I had set out to do in life, I have to admit that I had a blast. It was quick to learn, fun to do, and I'm proud of the pieces that I made there. It's the main attraction in the Delmar Maker District, according to them, "leading the neighborhood's mission to support and promote makers of all kinds." Tonight there is a glass blowing demonstration, drinks at the bar, a street full of food and makers booths, loads of glass pumpkins and other things to look at and purchase if you like!
