My friend and I have been planning on coming to Press 195 for weeks!! I hadn't been here in over 6-7 years so I was pretty excited to come back. We originally wanted to sit outside but the backyard was full, so we sat inside instead. (FYI, servers are no longer wearing masks anymore!) We decided to start off with the red and white sangria, both were okay. Fruity and not too strong. For our appetizer, of course, Belgian fries! We got three sauces- from my favorite to least- pineapple sesame sriracha, roasted garlic and chipotle Mayo. Sauces are $1 each or 3 for $2.50. The Belgian fries came out pretty quickly. I imagine most people get the fries when they come here, so they probably fire this constantly. They were busy so service was definitely on the slower side though. We had to ask the waitress to give us forks and plates. For our entree, we decided to share the #38. This came with marinated steak, avocado, mozzarella cheese and sweet onion jam. This was actually better than I remember! The bread was so crisp, but not too hard. Tons of steak (some of which was a little tough, but overall good), cheese was melty and the sweet onions added great flavor. The sandwich was so fresh and piping hot when we got it. I've been coming here for years as well as their Rockville Centre location but I like this one better. I always get the brisket knish without gouda cheese and Belgian fries. The brisket is very flavorful & tender and the fries are addicting. They're my favorites from here! Their chicken fingers are good too. My husband really likes their fried shrimp po' boy sandwich but they no longer have it due to Covid. Service is usually quick and the staff are friendly. If you like ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil and you cannot forget the Press 195 worlds famous signature pure maple syrup basil pesto topping, then this is the one to get. The menu can be a little overwhelming with all the sandwich options but the steak sandwich (#38) is my favorite. Made with sliced steak, avocado, onion jam, mozz and roasted pepper dressing. I've frequented the Press 195 in Rockville Center and always order the Pastrami /Soup which I love. Today I tried the one on Bell Blvd and I had the delicious Avocado Salad with grilled chicken OMG !!! They have an open area in the back to sit outside and enjoy your meal. We got to the restaurant at the opening time, so there weren't too many people. We ordered a medium rare Smokers Delight ($19), which comes with Belgian fries, and a #42 with Belgian fries ($18.50). It was awesome that we had the choice to customize the rarity of our burger. The Smokers Delight was delicious due to its barbeque sauce and the medium rare patty was very juicy. The #42's grilled chicken was not dry, which is a great sign. On top of that, the #42's pesto sauce was amazing. #42 came in a ciabatta, which was pressed and made it really crunchy, however, the ciabatta was floury, making it slightly dry. Both orders of Belgian fries were crispy and not too potatoey. FYI, there is a discount for paying in cash. Overall, we would definitely go there again. read more

Nice place. Nice enough staff. Got the sandwich that had turkey and Brie. I think it was called something like, back by popular demand. I don't remember exactly but what I do remember is it had no flavor. Some bites had a strong brie flavor but most did not. Fries were great so that got them a star. Desserts are the reason I'm giving this place 3 stars. They had funnel cake fries that were amazing. And some chocolate cake thing that was great. So definitely recommend those. They were very kind to change the channel and accommodate us even though we wanted to watch a low profile game. They've got a solid beer selection focused on local craft beers on draft. They also have the go to macros in bottles so all beer drinkers should find something they like. With our beers we had a couple appetizers. We shared their signature fries and a order of the fried mozzarella slices. The mozzarella slices should be one of their signature items too. They're so good. One of my favorite places to come for a GOOD sandwich. I have been a fan of Press 195 for years. Most of my visits were to the RVC location, however I'd dined at the Bayside location a handful of times, too. I hadn't been back to either location in a year or two, but we decided to come here for lunch recently and everything was just as I remembered! They have a temporary/limited menu, but I was still able to get the classic #38 panini (steak, avocado, mozz, sweet onion jam, and creamy roasted pepper dressing) and a red sangria. Ingredients are always fresh and delicious. We've been getting both takeout and delivery now that it's cold and our sandwiches always hit the spot. They even do sangria/cocktails to go! If you're not a panini/sandwich person, they have other options like knishes, burgers, salads, soups, etc. I have never been obsessed with the fries, as others seem to rave about it, but the fries are indeed good and quite crispy. Regarding covid, they seem to be taking the necessary precautions. We had sat outside in front of the restaurant, but they also have a fair amount of indoor tables and an outdoor back patio. Definitely give Press 195 a try if you're in Bayside (or RVC)! read more

Delivery review: I would like to preface this review by saying I have been to the brick and mortar restaurant more times than I can count on my hands and toes, and I've always had a great meal. However, I decided to order some food because it was getting late and I didn't feel like Chinese, or schlepping my two year old out on a rainy winter night. We ordered a #38, which is a steak sandwich, a #3 roast pork sandwich, and a guacamole appetizer. My hubby enjoyed the steak sandwich, my pork sandwich left a lot to desire. There was one piece of thick chewy pork, some sort of mayo concoction on half the sandwich, two strings of onion, and no discernible cheese. I attached a picture, note the cilantro on the sandwich was added by me, from the cilantro that was loosely thrown on top of the tortilla chips (?) with the guacamole appetizer, since the sandwich had no taste. Ok I figured, I tried something new and didn't like it, never again, but what really did it for me was the guacamole. I was in the mood for guacamole and I figured why not. The guacamole tasted great, but what really got me, was the fact that a TINY ramekin sized portion was the appetizer for $11. See the attached picture. Press, you should be ashamed of yourself.... for $11 I could have gotten almost 3 sides of guacamole at chipotle, which would have each been double the size. I'm assuming this isn't the portion size you serve inside the restaurant, people would be up in arms. Instead, you know that the people who are receiving the delivery are at your mercy, and cheat them of their money. I am completely turned off by this establishment now. We didn't even receive the sides of pickles that ALWAYS comes with the sandwiches. So $52 later, I had a crappy sandwich and a spoonful of guacamole. I got the lunch special - half Fried Shrimp Po' Boy sandwich - Panko breaded marinated shrimp, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and fresh made tangy remoulade - and fries! I wanted fries so I chose to cut my Po' Boy in half but next time I'm gonna get the whole Po' Boy and order the fries separately because the shrimp is sooooo crispy and GOOD! The husband got the California Burnin' burger - homemade guacamole, homemade salsa, Monterey Jack, and jalapeños - with fries! He thinks it's soso. Shhh I think he's addicted to Bare Burger that's why lol ***The ONLY and MAJOR problem with this place is their food takes a very long time to come out! Ugh, we were starved beyond starved waiting. When I think of Press 195, I immediately think of their Belgian fries with the delicious sauces. My bestie and I were craving those and also a good sandwich, so we stopped by for dinner on a Friday evening. The backyard area was full, so we sat inside. I could tell they were overwhelmingly busy as there were holes in service. I do see they are hiring servers so hopefully they can fix that soon. Both the red and white sangria were good with their own distinct taste. I'm glad we got one of each. The Belgian fries were amazing as expected. We added three special sauces - sriracha pineapple, roasted garlic, and chipotle mayo. The first two were the standouts to me, with the sriracha pineapple being the best with its sweet spiciness. We shared a #38 sandwich, which came with steak, avocado, mozz cheese, and sweet onion sauce? The steak was plentiful, the bread was crunchy, and the cheese was still stretchy. Sharing was definitely enough for us as one sandwich is huge! It also took a while to come out, so you know they making it fresh. THIS RESTRAUNT SERVED ME FOOD I INFORMED THEM I WAS ALLERGIC TO. I ordered the Veggie wrap and ask for no olive spread because I'm allergic to olives. When they served me, I double checked with the server and she confirmed it was made as per my request, without olives. But I took 1 bite and knew there was olives. I asked my husband to try and he confirmed there was olives. I took apart my sandwich and scraped out the olive spread to prove the olive spread was in fact in my sandwich. I FORCED MYSELF TO VOMIT IN THEIR BATHROOM. This clearly ruined my entire afternoon and my plans tonight as now I have to stay home and monitor my health. Thank god, my allergy doesn't send me into anaphylaxis. While I was in the bathroom the gentleman behind the bar came around to apologize to my husband and to inform him they would comp my wrap. I was in their bathroom for almost 10 minutes. When I exited the bathroom, I was obviously crying, my face was flushed, eyes red and watery and not one staff member checked in with me to make sure I was OK. I was at our table for another 5 minutes shaking and crying and not one staff member seemed to care about my mental and physical health. Their restaurant is small and I was sitting in the table directly across from the bar. So their lack of concern was intentional. I understand mistakes happen but failure to comfort the customer in distress especially due to their negligence is such poor service. We immediately left so that I could continue vomitting at home to clear out my system. I work in hospitality and this is the most important rule of food service. My experience was completely unacceptable. My advice, avoid this place like the plague. A restaurant that doesn't take food allergies seriously probably won't handle food properly either. read more

The Sicilian sandwich was delicious, they got free soda refills, nice place in Bayside Queens, parking is hard to find because is located on a busy street.
