Burgers looked amazing- and Parmesan fries

A group of girlfriends met up for dinner last night and really enjoyed our experience! The appetizers were fantastic- pretzels with a good cheese dip, and chips with elote dip. This would be a fun place to meet up for drinks and appetizers and leave totally satisfied. Our food was also good- burgers, chicken, steaks, and our server was friendly. I will say that the steaks were a tad overdone (especially my friend who ordered medium rare and received a well-done steak). The ambience is cool and industrial- but because of the hard surfaces everywhere it also felt very loud/echoey. There was live music and we had a very hard time hearing each other and our server. The outdoor space seems like it would be really nice in the summer though! I'd come back for that.

This was my first time back at this place since becoming PressHouse. I was a little confused at first with the name change but figured it out after asking a couple of questions. Our server was great. Very informative and got us our meals fast. The prices for what you get are a little higher than what they should be, but overall the experience was nice and the food was good. I will be back to do a full spirits sampling soon! They had so many to pick from!

The Press House came through for me and my family last week after our Surprise Retirement Party for my Dad came crashing to a hault from a different local establishment that shall not be named. The professionalism, sincerity, and friendliness was top notch and everyone had a great time! We can't say enough good things about the management, staff, and chef. Jennifer and Ryan were on top of every single detail from the event space, food order, and entertainment. We highly recommend The Daily Draft for all sporting watch parties and The Barrel Room for your next event space! They are two of the coolest areas that are welcoming, party friendly, and intimate all at the same time. Robbie and another bartender were fantastic! They made every drink perfect, from the old fashions my dad loves to the deliciously poured in house drafts. They were warm and inviting with conversations as well as recommendations of drinks. The chef (I'm sorry I do not remember his name) was on point! He timed every catering tray to a "t" and the food was always hot and scrumptious! We even added a few last minute items and he had everything ready to go. Almost a week later, my family and I are still receiving texts and phone calls from over 100 party goers saying how amazing the Press House was and what a blast they had! We all cannot wait to go back! Thank you PressHouse for turning what we thought was going to be the worst experience into an unforgettable and memorable party for my Dad! Your generosity did not go unnoticed and for that, we are forever, truly thankful!

We have been here a few times since the new kitchen opened. Nice variety, and a great pet friendly patio to listen to eat and enjoy the band. The burgers are phenomenal! Love the french press beer, a blend of coffee and vanilla.

The pan seared salmon was small for the price.

I finally made it to this diner. It's been on my list for quite a while. They're semi-famous…read morelocally for their Sunday all you can eat brunch buffet but I went mid-week for lunch to try one of their sandwiches. They have both an inside and outside dining area, the inside being small and cozy, a little bit of an old school diner atmosphere. I grabbed a seat inside and was promptly greeted with a smile and given a menu by the friendly waitress. They had several options that sounded enticing. I inquired about the bacon they used on their BLT but the waitress wasn't sure except that it was a standard thin cut bacon and she thought it was tasty. Preferring thick cut bacon, I finally decided to go with the reuben sandwich with a side of crinkle potato chips. The sandwich was served to me impressively fast, less than 10 minutes and, to my surprise, the waitress offered me a sample strip of their bacon. It was surprisingly good so I may have to go with a BLT next time. Anyway, the reuben was the star of my lunch, served traditionally on perfectly grilled marbled rye bread. The sandwich was delicious, not a large amount of corned beef but enough to be well balanced with the other components of the sandwich. The corned beef itself was sliced sandwich thin, a bit chewy but otherwise delicious. I really enjoyed the sandwich. The potato chips were standard fare but tasted fresh. The highlights of the visit were the friendly staff, fast service, fairly reasonable prices and the free sample of bacon was icing on the cake. I'll return soon with my wife who is sure to order their BLT. I'll probably give their Philly cheese or french dip a try.

I will say this is an old school diner with everything to match. Luckily the prices matched up with the old school decor. The buffet is set out on the patio and there were plenty of options. From salad, to your favorite breakfast items- eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links, sausage patties, bacon, pancakes. Then there was biscuits and gravy, Mac n cheese mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, pasta, meatballs, brats and some packaged little dessert cakes and muffins. It was a great value for $14.95 and if you have a big family it is an affordable way to eat out and feed the whole family. My server was great, she talked highly of the place and with passion when I mentioned it was my first visit. Within the last month, Sacred Grounds has had a change in ownership. For some that is sad news, but…read morethe good news is that the new owners so far have been keeping the same high quality service and products. My recent visit was to take part of Javapalooza being sponsored by Rivers and Routes Tourism Bureau. When it's warm outside, I enjoy my coffee iced. My go to is, Vanilla Honey Latte with whole milk. If you're having a latte, why not go whole hog and enjoy that whole milk. The rich fullness of whole milk, adds to the flavor. Looking at their pastry case, it was hard for me to choose. However, once my eyes saw the Pizza Scone, I wanted a savory treat over a sweet. The scone was full of flavor, but a little on the dry side. After a couple bites, the dryness did not bother me, because the flavor was so good. Scared Grounds is located on the Main drag in downtown Edwardsville, so next time you're in town, be sure to stop by.
