This place can get pretty busy during the holidays so I definitely recommend making a reservation! We got a half order of onion rings (they're HUGE!) and the seafood bruschetta for our appetizers. Pro tip: order the pepper jelly to dip the bruschetta in, you won't regret it. The steaks were cooked perfectly and I definitely recommend the garlic mashed potatoes! This place is moody and cozy, perfect for a date night or a girls night out

Grilled prime rib was excellent! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience, service, food, everything was top notch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They should be very proud of this place.

My dad specifically requested eating dinner here to celebrate his birthday. It feels like you're driving in the middle of nowhere to get to this place with cattle and cornfields surrounding you, but once you've made it, it's hard to miss! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside of the restaurant is dark and rustic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My family of four was sat at a spacious corner booth in the back of the restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was perfect. If you've heard about Popeye's, you've probably heard about their onion rings. Just get them... trust me. I don't even like onion rings, but these are truly something special. My family shared a half order, which was still a massive portion. I love that the onion isn't super stringy and that the breading doesn't fall off. We also shared an order of toasted ravs for an appetizer. Our meals came out with a complimentary basket of bread and butter. We all got side caesar salads with our meals. My dad and sister both ordered steak. My mom had chicken and fries. I had pasta con broccoli with chicken and a sweet potato on the side. You won't believe the absolutely gigantic portion sizes. It's safe to say that I had enough leftovers for multiple meals the rest of the week. Our server asked if we were celebrating anything, and since it was my dad's birthday, they brought out a complimentary slice of cheesecake with a handwritten birthday message. Popeye's Chop House is a gem!

Best meal ever!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Popeye's atmosphere was great, it was packed with the tables full constantly. Lots of conversations and laughter with everyone enjoying their meals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our food was delicious from the appetizers all the way through to the desserts. Our server - Greg, is wonderful!!! He knows the menu so well and is kind. Asked what we were celebrating ( 39 years of marriage) he made it so special. I'll ask for Greg any time we go back.

Pretty good food! Wait was a bit excessive and the price was a bit steep but the food ended up quite good. I would recommend it.

Do you need reservations for 6 adults and 3 small children on a Saturday evening?

I would definitely make a reservation. They usually have a full house.

Mariah was a super sweet server who was friendly knowledgeable and attentive to our table. We didn't feel rushed or pressured, it was a relaxing brunch to sit and talk and catch up! We ordered the biscuit & 3 butters- light, fluffy, buttery biscuits and the butters were delicious! After that we got the farm fresh omelets, Italian slinger, breakfast burrito and steak and eggs with grits. The steak was delicious, melts in your mouth, the eggs were perfectly cooked... the Italian slinger was phenomenal! I cleaned my plate- delicious salsiccia and over easy eggs cooked exactly right! This wasn't our first time stopping in after church and it sure won't be our last!

Going off the pictures and reviews beforehand, I was expecting it to be more upscale/fine dining. It was a lot more casual than that. Kind of like if Outback had less tables and more of a neighborhood bar feel lol. Not a bad thing, just different from what I pictured when I made the reservation. We came mainly for the steak because obviously the place is called Carnivore. We got the Bone In Ribeye, Chicken Alfredo and Carnivore Potatoes, plus a Strawberry Basil Martini and a Menabrea. Funny enough, the Chicken Alfredo ended up being the best thing we ordered. We basically got it to have some pasta with the steak and ended up not being able to stop eating it. Huge portion, a lot of chicken, and the Alfredo was really good. Was not expecting to leave a place called Carnivore talking more about the pasta than the steak. The ribeye was good, but for the price I expected more. Once you're spending $60 to $70 on a steak, I expect a noticeable difference from somewhere like Outback, and I didn't really feel like there was. It wasn't bad at all, it just wouldn't be the reason I came back. The Carnivore Potatoes were our least favorite. Verrrrry soft and absolutely drowning in butter. Between the two of us we ate maybe one potato and left the rest. The martini was really good and the Menabrea was a solid beer with dinner. Service was probably the biggest downside. For such a small restaurant we really didn't see our server much, maybe 3 times the whole meal. Once for drinks, once to take our order, and once a while after the food came, which is when I finally got to order my beer. After that she was putting chairs up and sweeping the rest of the restaurant before coming back, so when she did we just asked for to go boxes, dessert and the check all at once. We took the Chocolate Chip Cheesecake to go and that was actually pretty good too. Also didn't realize until we got there that Carnivore is on The Hill. It's tucked into the neighborhood and I really liked the location. Went at 7:45 on a Wednesday and parking was easy. Good anniversary dinner and I'm glad we tried it. I'd come back, but honestly I'd probably be coming back for the Chicken Alfredo before the steak.

The dinning room wasn't very full but when they seated us they took us to what used to be a patio. Now it's enclosed and there is a bar a stage and plenty of seating. My problem was the fans that were blowing made it difficult to have a conversation with my wife across the table. I told the server it was almost too noisy and was having a hard time hearing him talk. He said he'd talk louder. That didn't really fix the problem. Not real sure why we were seated in this area because the dinning room had plenty of space. We had a little trouble communicating our order because of the noise. As I stated a couple times to our server. I communicated I have trouble hearing in areas like this and he just kept talking louder. Anyway we finally got our food ordered and went for a salad in the next room. My wife even commented on the empty tables and asked my why I thought they put us in that big room. Idk? So we get our salad and it was good. Kretzers had a decent salad bar. One of the reasons we like the place. I ordered a 12oz ribeye rare with a baked potato. Wife got chicken strips with gravy and mashed potatoes and gravy. When the food arrived everything looked good and the server said some things that I have no idea what. Even the wife didn't know. I go to open the butter for my pita and it's not butter. It's an oil whip. I do not eat fake butter. It's harmful. To find out they have no butter in the place. So I tell my server of the situation and looks at me like he has no idea what to do. Turns and walks away. So I eat my steak and stare at the baked potato. I am a recent cancer survivor and have no ability to make saliva. So I needed the butter to make the potato edible. Or even gravy or something. I told the server but I don't think he heard me correctly or didn't know what to do. It was so loud with the stupid fans. So while I do recommend Kretzers and like their steaks and crab legs and salad bar. I don't recommend their new addition to dine in. And if you want real butter bring your own. I was a little disappointed with our experience this time around.

Good experience but a little underwhelming given hype and price point…read more My husband and I had been excited to try Hamilton's given our love of steakhouses and interest in trying some special bourbons. Service: We were sat in the Bourbon room, I'm not sure I'd choose this again. There are 6 tables in there and the waiter has to go very far to get to the kitchen. We never saw him not moving but it seemed that all 6 of the tables were in a similar place of ordering good and drinks with two large groups. This meant we often had to wait awhile to place orders, get food and drinks and bread, had to ask a couple time for somethings. Perhaps better experience in main dining room where the waiters may be less hard worked or better if they staggered out the reservations in this room more. Our waiter was nevertheless very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Drinks: We were very excited about the bourbon list, particularly the reserve bourbons. First, husband got the Garrison Brothers Single Barrel and me an Old Forrester 1920 in a mint julep. One disappointing thing for that was that the reserve bourbon pour was served in a huge glass with full to top with several restaurant standard ice cubes -- this meant the first sip was fantastic of this great bourbon but very soon the bourbon was very watery. We were shocked for a place like this to serve a high quality bourbon this way, often we enjoy this with one large square ice cube. Our next pour we got neat, which is what you need to do here. My mint julep on the other hand was great! Next we tried Blanters neat and Duckhorn from the Coravin system. Food: For the food we ordered the scallops to start, Hamilton farm greens, wedge salad and porterhouse to share with twice backed potato and seasonal vegetable. Potato bread was also provided with a garlic butter, it was delicious. Finished with a cheesecake. Everything was pretty good, nothing blew me away. Bread may have been my favorite given its uniqueness as a potato bread. The porterhouse was cooked fairly differently throughout the meat ranging from medium rare to well done, may be a challenge inherent to porterhouses. Twice baked potato was good and reminiscent of home cooking. Cheesecake was a nice finish with Dubai chocolate inspired toppings.
