Their customer service representative named Sarah, who no longer works for the company, was helpful and responsive. Recently, however, my attempts to have the wall removed were met with unanswered e-mails and phone calls, attempts to double the original estimate to remove the wall ("due to the pandemic"), and finally the most unprofessional and rude interactions with Danny when I asked for clarification about how to acquire a certificate of insurance. I called another reputable company the same day and my wall will be removed next week. read more

It was an absolute pleasure working with Jonathan and his team. I called 4 different companies around the city, and not only did Jonathan offer the best price, but he was completely upfront about all the costs, the timing, and logistical details of the temporary wall we needed to be constructed. His guys came in in the morning, measured the area, came back within an hour and put up the wall up before the end of the day. I happily offered to write a glowing review because Jonathan was responsive, polite, and very easy to work with. I almost never write reviews, but I had to make it a point to do so because they really did a great job. The wall looks amazing, it was exactly what we needed, when we needed it, and within our budget. The nature of NYC forces you to be very assertive and clear about all details when you're hiring someone for a job, because workers can be sneaky, they can throw in costs you weren't prepared for, and they can't always be reliable in timing/delivery. Could not be more unhappy with the level of service of this company. By service I mean interactions with the staff and not the actual construction, or the builders that came to construct the wall - they were great and none of the below is their fault. Submitted for a quote online and got one back that seemed in line with the competition. I goofed on measurement and they added $50 which was fine and my fault for being off. Then after I got invoiced via PayPal for the first half of the wall and paid they told me that they didn't see I wanted a window and it would be $200 more. No. This wasn't my fault it was theirs. They came down in price after A LOT of pushing on this. It was their mistake, not mine and I filled out their form specifying the window. You would think they would check this regularly. Then they get to the apartment and builder had no idea we needed an L shaped wall. Also tried to get a check payment when we already agreed on PayPal (as I am traveling and out of town and it is not for my roommate to pay) and my roommate had to fork over a check for $775. That's not an easy amount of money to just throw around for many New Yorkers. Like HOW DISORGANIZED ARE YOU? If the wall wasn't already half done I would find a new company purely on the fact that their customer service is horrible. On top of that their customer service rep told me I have no reason to be upset and further patronized me by saying "not sure where your info is coming from" none of that even happened. Well, I was on the phone with my roommate and he was confused as to why the builders would not be informed of what we had requested and said that they had no idea they had to build an L shaped wall. Horrible horrible horrible. The wall itself appears to be fine for all intents and purposes but they need to fix their customer service and how they talk to their customers. This review is a shame to write because when my wall went up two years ago (2013) there is not another company in the world I would have recommended. Jonathan and his team then were attentive, fast, and accommodating. I'm not sure what's happened to them in the two years that my wall has been up but when it came time to take down the wall (advertised as free) we had to schedule it four weeks in advance in order to not incur a $350 fee. This is not stated anywhere on their website. Luckily I called 5 weeks before I was moving out. When the day came to take it down, no contractor showed up. After calling them it was extremely clear that no one had a clue that they were supposed to be in my apartment that morning. The coordinator of the take downs "sent someone right away" but it took them over an hour to arrive. How could a company be so disorganized as to require four weeks notice for the wall and then not even bother to show up. It's a huge disappointment and I would no longer recommend them. On top of that no one has bothered to call me to discuss my frustration despite emails I sent asking them to. read more

I just recently moved to the city and I got a one bedroom apartment that needed a wall for my room. After searching around for a variety of companies i found that pressurized wall NYC was by far the best for a variety of reasons. Upon leaving a message Pressurized walls promptly returned my call with a a free quote that was below market value. They sent a highly responsible and cordial employee that arrived on time to my location and completed the job very quickly with no mess. Furthermore upon finishing the job they called to see what i thought of my wall and if their was anything else i needed. Danis did a great job and was very pleasant to work with, however the customer service was terrible! We sent a video explaining exactly what we wanted and gave the measurements. They asked us to pay an extra $600 on top of the price we agreed upon because the measurements were a little off. The lady was also extremely rude and condescending when we tried speaking to her on the phone. I do not reccomend, nor will I be using this company again. read more

I hate having to write this, because I hate when situations such as these arise. But here goes...I hired this company to build a wall in my apartment, and the wall turned out fine. It did not take one day as they said but none the less, the wall turned out fine. The issue was that I realized my watch went missing after the installation and due to the circumstances of the situation I know I did not misplace my watch (I knew exactly where it was), and that no one else could have taken it but the installation person (the only person who had been inside my apartment). I hate accusing people, but when it's that obvious and the company takes no responsibility for it, it makes you want to share with others so it doesn't happen to them. They claim it was "alleged theft" so they could not take any responsibility. Well If something goes missing, there is no other "proof" someone took it other than knowing it went missing and providing an explanation such as mine. It is a sticky situation from both ends I understand. However, if you hire this company, your wall will probably be exactly what you expected, but just know it is 100% up to you to ensure none of your belongings are taken. read more

The company and its team is very sufficient and is one of the better contractors I have hired in NYC! Not only do they offer better prices than any other company that offers same services as, they are very quick to set up a time and date and as well getting the work done fast. One thing that terrifies me working with contractors is that they give you wrong time estimations and budgets for the work that needs to be done. But this company offered me a accurate price estimation and kept the work within the time frame needed. Being a student and new to the city , I'm happy to have found a reliable and price friendly contractor to fix me convertible apartment's wall! I would give these guys 4.5 if that was possible - I would and have recommended these guys! The guys who came to put up the wall arrived promptly on time, the lack of 5 stars then arose in that the materials to build the wall did not arrive for another hour which was frustrating, especially as the wall went up on our moving day. Once materials had arrived the wall flew up, the guys were super friendly and the quality of workmanship was good.
