Wow! After talking with Josh a couple of times to schedule a grooming session for our ragdoll, we agreed on a Tuesday @12:30. I arrived ahead of schedule and asked Josh, if he wanted me to take her out and show him how I wanted her groomed. Josh declined. I told him I would be right next door getting a pedicure and should be a couple of hours if he needed anything. To my surprise when I went back at 2:30, Josh told me it would be at least 2 or 3 more hours before he could get to her. No call or text in the elapsed time. Josh seemed very put off by cats and apparently has no respect for schedules or other people's time. If you have a dog and have been satisfied...great. If you have a cat....stay away. read more

My wife and I are seniors staying in Clearwater for medical treatments and have brought along Sachi our 13-year-old Miniature Pincher. Hotel bound we needed a pet sitter while at the clinic as we could not leave Sachi in the hotel room unattended. Joshua was kind enough to pet sit for us, not only once but on several occasions which was a life saver. And he went way beyond just pet sitting. PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING PRESTIGE PET CARE If you're relying on reviews, here is a cautionary tale. We're in Florida on vacation and were looking for a pet sitter/groomer for our fur babies. We searched Rover, Yelp and DogVacay and found Prestige Pet Care. We called the owner, Joshua, and he appeared to be very knowledgeable, professional and caring. This, coupled with the five star ratings, made our decision. We filled out all necessary paperwork giving detailed information on each of our dogs. Joshua guaranteed updates throughout the day on our babies, feeding at our specific time, walks and grooming for our golden doodle and a bath for our Labrador. We were aware the dog care was at the owners home. We dropped off the dogs and walked into a chaotic atmosphere, dirty home, fenced in backyard with no grass, bags of fecal matter, and an overwhelming smell of poo. Joshua made multiple excuses and "yes", we should have ran, however the reviews were great and we had arranged our day in Clearwater around our dogs. We never received any "promised" updates. In fact we attempted to contact him via text and he never responded. Finally we called and confirmed we would be picking up both of our dogs around 8:00. He also stated he and his mother (who is the groomer) and the other caregiver were at the vet attending to personal issues. Huh? No one watching about nine dogs in their home. He told us he was gone for a half an hour but we have a hard time believing a trip to the vet with 6 or more dogs would only have taken 30 min. We did not pay to have our dogs left alone in someone else's home. We asked when we could pick them up and he stated Gracie, our golden doodle's grooming hadn't been started. He told us to be there at 8pm. We arrived promptly at 8 and were asked to come back in ninety minutes because our golden doodles grooming was not yet finished. At that point our Labrador, Lanie was brought out. Admittedly, Lanie can be nervous. What we witnessed was purely pathetic and honestly frightening. She was heavily panting and would only walk in circles. All of the other dogs were being kept in the house but it appeared Lanie had been kept outside for an extensive amount of time. We asked if they had been fed at six. Huh? He had forgot! We wanted our dogs and to get out of there. We demanded our dogs immediately but it stilll took nearly a half an hour more for them to deliver our golden doodle to us. The groomer, Joshua's mother, brought out a half finished Gracie. We then asked if our other dog had been bathed. Huh? They hadn't got to that either. He then offered to spray our dog off with a hose in the yard I guess he feels that constitutes "bathing" them (sure seems like royalty to me) Then, the most awkward moments ensued as the mother and son began to point fingers one blaming the other. We witnessed family drama during completion of our stay. It was terribly uncomfortable. Finally, we got our babies together and upon hitting the grass both dogs urinated for what seemed forever. Upon arriving home, they gulped their water and finally at 10:30pm, inhaled their food. Our Lanie is still nervous today. I will never go back and honestly, I'm glad they can't talk to tell us about their day. Fur baby owners...steer clear of Joshua and Prestige Pet Care. I refuse to believe this hasn't happened to others. The reason for the one star is there isn't an option for a zero. Also, the half of our Golden Doodle that was finished, was quite good. Be Leary of ratings. Also, Prestiges motto is "where you're pet is treated like royalty". I assure you, this is NOT the case. read more

Providing a 3star rating for their grooming services. I have been taking my Shih Tzu mix for regular groomings since May. The first few cuts were amazing, exactly what I've asked for. I am unsure what happened these last couple of times. I send pictures (of previous grooms done by the groomer) and requests via text and I get reassured that what I've asked for will be done. Then come pick up, what I've asked for is not what I get. Entire head buzzed except the ears. Muzzle included. Completely opposite of the picture I sent. This was my first time leaving my dog here, prior to their stay I brought my dogs over to meet Joshua and his dogs. I was impressed with the care that Joshua took to make sure that his home and yard were safe and pet friendly. He also made sure my dogs were up to date on their vaccinations. He is very knowledgeable about dogs and has a genuine love for animals. When I returned my dogs were happy and it was obvious that they were well cared for while I was away. Do not take your dog to these people for grooming. They completely messed up my mini-schnauzer. They cut her beard and moustache way too short and even cut off her whiskers! They knicked her really badly on her back and she was bleeding! They did not leave a skirt on her at all. Their 25 dollar deal was not worth it. I could have done a better job myself. I would rather pay double and have a real pro groom her next time. read more

I used Josh to watch my two dogs on a last minute trip. He mentioned when I dropped them off that they also do grooming, so I though, "why not." When I came back to pick the dogs up, I noticed first the streaks of blood on the floor of the aprtment. When I picked up my 13 year-old dog, he ws STILL bleeding from two nails that had been cut too low. When I showed I was upset, the groomer (I believe his mother?) said "this happens. it's not a big deal." The entire reason I use groomers is because they are supposed to be professional and NOT hurt my animals. I highly, HIGHLY do not reccomend this place. read more

I am new to this area and decided to search Yelp for a groomer for our dog. She was quite dirty from rolling around the lawn and dirt, matted in certain areas, and because we had just spent 3 days driving down from Maine I hadn't had any time to tend to her coat. Based on the five star reviews, I contacted Josh to make an appointment for a bath and brush. He was very thorough about being certain her vaccines were current. He did not recognize her breed, so he asked me to send pictures of how I liked her hair cut, which I did. She ended up only needing a good bath and brush. I was a little apprehensive when I pulled up to the address, as there are no signs and it is a residential home. After ringing the doorbell and hearing the corresponding barking inside, I knew it was the right place. The groomer (his mom, maybe?) came out and met me and asked a lot of questions about my dog. My pup is almost entirely blind and extremely skittish with other dogs she doesn't know, so the groomer agreed to keep her separate from the others and actually carry her. A couple hours later I returned to pick her up. The groomer told me she had a double ear infection and quite a few mats that she took care of. I was unaware of the ear problems and was greatly appreciative that she took the time to clean her ears. I immediately made an appointment with a vet to have her ear infections looked at. The vet said that whoever bathed her did such a wonderful job cleaning her ears. I obtained the necessary meds and hopefully my pup is on the mend. Thank you Josh, and groomer (sorry, I don't know her name) for giving my dog such great care and attention. I will definitely return for future groomings. read more
