I'm not rating the store, just responding to the other reviews I've read here... What people are saying about the store's cashier (Eric) is true. I used to live a few doors down from Prestige, so I shopped there pretty much every day, and am quite familiar with Eric's... antics. To those saying his boss should lay him off, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Eric's been working there for something like 15 or 20 years. He's usually late to work, and often closes shop up to an hour early. The owner doesn't care. Eric would always bombard me with his ultra-right-wing rhetoric the instant I walked through the door. He would also regale me with the most absurd conspiracy theories you could possibly imagine... real crazy stuff. I would normally avoid such a polarizing place, but like I said, I lived virtually next door to Prestige, so it was incredibly convenient for me. As to Eric's right-wing outbursts, I would simply reply "REALLY? WOW! SHOCKING!! SEEYA LATER!", and get out as quickly as possible. So, yeah. If you can endure/ignore being hollered at by Toluca Lake's homegrown version of Alex Jones, Prestige can be convenient. But if you DON'T want to be bombarded with Eric's endless "LIBERALS ARE LITERALLY SATAN!" screeds, you should probably shop elsewhere. read more

Recently, I avoid going to the supermarket more and more, especially since they let everyone in at the one closest to me. So, to avoid the crowds, I choose other places in the area for shopping needs. Prestige is a decent sized liquor store close by. Big parking lot, prices a tad high (which I expect), but the selection for wine is decent. Also, the soft drinks selection is plentiful for a quick pick me up. I've been shopping on and off at this store for years, and I don't mind stopping to get a few items while in the area. I'm branching out, this way is safer to find less crowded places, off the beaten path that have cool merchandise. You can always browse a tad and discover something new! read more

Like others have noted, most often there are typically heavily political podcasts playing in the store. During the pandemic, it seemed like mask wearing was really frowned upon in the store, and when there were mask mandates, they were not enforced. Still, it was close to my home so I occasionally stopped in out of conveince. No more. A week or two ago, I overheard the clerk finishing up telling to a customer what sounded like a transphobic joke. I was taken aback by it, and wasn't sure I heard all of it correctly and kept shopping. While waiting in line, he then retold the joke again to a customer, in a manner to basically tell it to anyone in the store. It confirmed that I wasn't wrong the first time, it was in fact an incredibly transphobic joke. I put down my items and walked out. Shop here if you want, but personally I don't need politics when I just want a six pack of beer, and I certainly don't need to give my money to transphobes and homophobes. read more

Alright these reviews are old af, but I live down the street. Nice clerks, never had an issue with them. A little pricey but I haven't run into expired goods yet. Yeah, some stuff is dusty, but why are you buying weird stuff (don't worry, I buy the weird stuff all the time and I haven't died yet). Good local liquor store, funny guys that are nice and good conversationalist. Normal vibes for a liquor store, but I love that I can walk here, granted if you aren't local there isn't much of a reason to visit, but they have my favourite vapes in stock all the time and decent selection of liquor and beer. I wish they had more varieties of coconut water though. Hope this helps! read more

I used to live across the street from this business and have shopped there often. I still live in Burbank l, but I won't return here because the guy with a pony tail (I don't know if he is owner or an employee) constantly tries to start up unsolicited conversations that revolve obsessively around his personal and political views, many of which I find very offensive. This guy will go on a vitriolic diatribe at the drop off a hat. It's actually very bizarre and so unnecessary. I see the other reviews similar to this one and I believe every one of them. I'll never step foot in here again. I hope he reads these reviews and takes some time to think about how he comes across to others. So toxic. read more

This place is convenient sense I live near by but this is the last time I come here. It seems like everything I buy is old and Expired. I'm one to give places chances and not judge based off one bad experience. But it just seems like it's just a waste of my money sense I always have to toss things out. This last time I got a Coke i start drinking it and the top had a very weird nasty smell to it. Bs aside it smelled like someone's nasty private part. It made me gag. I don't know what's the shelf life of a soda but it was expired without fizzle. I also noticed that there's no prices and for 3 small thing that weird guy with the long hair charged up the ass and different prices every time. Seems like he's just making up his own prices. There's no way that 1 bag a small chips and 1 soda cost $15. I hate complaining so I don't say anything but I had enough with this place. This last experience is disgusting. read more

Came in for a quick stop for some booze after getting takeout dinner. Spent 14.72 on some mikes and buzzballz. Honestly this place could use some customer service/ etiquette. When associates throw your credit card on the counter for you to pick it up after I handed the guy my card, it just leaves a bad etiquette impression on customers. Soley based on common courtesy ,I'd rather spend my $15 at my local liquor store in Valley Village. read more

Great location and selection. This is 5 minutes from me and I used to visit often, but have now stopped after one of the regular night employees continued to use his job to make unsolicited political statements. Once, I had to listen to how awfully run the state of CA is due to liberal politics. Then this week there was something playing over the sound system - vaccine misinformation from a widely criticized podcast. I've never once heard music or other podcasts in there .... He just can't help but force his views on customers, and it is not the place. Maybe he should try a Twitter account. read more

This place is near my home and I have shopped here many times over the last 10 years, but no more. The guy behind the counter is extremely rude and confrontational. I don't know his name but since I always see him working, he might be the only clerk. I've seen his rudeness a couple times in the past but it happened again recently. There are too many better options in this area so I won't be back! read more

I guess I'll just get right in line behind the other folks who've given this a 1 star review. 'Horrifying' would not be too harsh a term for what I experienced there tonight and, based on the fact that what I experienced is apparently the norm, I guess the behavior of the violent folks who have been hired to run the counter at this place of business are just what the owners want. How sickening a thing it is to walk into a place of business with the simple goal of giving them some of your money, only to be berated and harassed the entire way out the door. Yes, that's exactly what happened to me tonight when I simply wanted to buy a bottle of wine. Instead, I had to wait for the counter attendant to finish his smoke break while I stood at the counter waiting for service. Once he decided I'd waited long enough, he launched into a violent rant about the prices of the very goods they sell and the political reasons behind it. This unhinged person was completely out of control, sweating profusely and looked to truly want to vault over the counter toward me when I gave him a disapproving look. As I was getting out the door, a woman was starting to walk in and said,"What the hell?", as I was walking by her ... based on the violent bloviating of the Prestige Liquor employee. What a world we live in when the act of doing simple business makes you fear for your safety. Again, there are so many similar reports of this place posted here that it is obvious that the owners like this sort of intimidation being thrown at their customers. I, for one, will NEVER EVER step foot inside this hell-hole again and I will never stop telling every person I know about my experience at Prestige. In a perfect world, the business will crash and burn and be replaced with a similarly stocked ( but with a better wine selection ) showroom, equipped with reason-based and thoughtful adults who own and run it. read more

Have been going to prestige for a while. I have been particularly selective of this place as it is very close to me and I really love the convenience in the location. I have found that the majority of the employees are very courteous attentive memorable and sincere. I have found that Eric is particularly problematic. There's always some sort of an issue or Aura of disrespect. On my last visit there he spit in the trash can while I was checking out. "Super gross"! I believe he is of Japanese descent and that only adds to the discontent of my visit knowing that is that is a sign of it extreme disrespect!!! I always try to look for the best in people but don't understand why he would want to be employed in this particular industry? Does he enjoy degrading his customers? I am very unsatisfied with the quality of service I received from Eric. The other employees seem great the space could definitely improve. It's fantastic spot and I believe they're under estimating the level of a service that could be given in this area. A lot of room to improve both with the space and poor employee selection. read more

Take your business elsewhere if you know whats good for you, there are better places close by where you can purchase anything they will sell here. Overpriced items, bad selection, the guy working was not accommodating. I live in the neighborhood and have shopped here a couple times purely out of convenience, never really had a problem except shitty prices. Went in there tonight and tried to buy cigarettes explaining to the guy that I don't have ID since I recently lost my wallet. I'm over twenty and look it but he still would not sell the pack to me, this guy is an idiot. I'm never going here again. read more

Excellent large selection. Plenty of parking. Neighborhood vibe. Special non-alcoholic beverage items are on point! Lovely staff.
