Never seen a more disjointed and lazy service team like they have here at Preston. Tried calling the service scheduling desk and they didn't have a clue about what I needed. So I decided to stop in the service bays to speak with a service writer. Pulled in and asked if they had a designated EV service writer and the guy looked up from his cell phone and said...."what". Told him I needed to schedule service and he pointed to the office and said "the girls can schedule for you". Went inside and they were clueless about my warranty needs and suggested I speak with the service writer.... Seriously seems this dealership is going out of their way to disappoint potential customers. Never been there before, and never going back. read more

I been taking my tesla to this location for few years, every time I take it in they charge me a lot of money last year I took it in they charged me over $4800, and this time $2100 and when I told the guy at the service counter your Guys always charging too much money for small repair. He told me that he will give me free charging for a month or free Self - driving,, after I paid my invoice and left I never heard from them again. I will never go back to this place. **Be aware***: Went to have the message of "High voltage charging system" message removed. Advised the service tech, that I have already filled the coolant and changed the new battery and now dealership has to remove the error message only. Was also advised that car is due for coolant flush and transmission oil change and cost would be around $1600 for all the work. Advised the dealership that lets get the message fixed first and will chat more about other 2 services. Dropped car of Friday. Picked car on Monday and was told they could not fix the problem and waiting to hear back from head office engineering department. When leaving was made to pay $530.89 even though original problem was not fixed, and now there was also another error message of "high propulsion" showing. Had no option except to pay and leave. Was advised cannot leave without paying. Have been dealing with AM service at their location about refund since last more than a week. Yesterday the original service tech called again and asked as to when I am brining the car for remaining services. Told him that the original issue is not yet fixed and was made to pay the amount of $530. He advised that this is how they work and the costs may go as high as $4000-$5000. Told him no thank you. Yesterday after many weeks of searching I found the car that my wife has wanted and I was going to purchase it for her fiftieth birthday. I made the phone call, arranged the test drive, did our research with the car fax report and was looking forward to buying the car in cash. We arrived at the dealership and the car was gathered, the advert stated Manual transmission, but it was a Auto, disappointment number 1. My wife decided to test drive the car anyway as we were there and luckily she liked it and we decided we would purchase the car. With a bit of negotiation. We arrived back at the dealership, then we were placed with a different sales guy. I had asked my wife beforehand to ask one question to test honestly and trust as you need that from a dealer and it went like this. "Has the car been in any accidents (we knew there was a $4,500 claim) ? Sales many with no hesitation and a straight face replied "No" That was it trust blown. My wife questioned his honesty and also asked about servicing, he said it had a full service history at Mini Richmond, it hadn't we had already checked. So that was it we left and my wife was really disappointed, so I again tried to resolve the problem and still buy the car and made a fair offer, seeing that there were hidden facts on the car. No one got back to me after they promised they would. My wife called this morning as she didn't want to blame the dealer for one bad salesman. She spoke with the sales manager, asked for a deal to restore faith and was "still" willing to purchase the car, she gave up after the sales manager spent ages waffling about that's not the case. So if you are looking for a honest trustworthy dealership, from my experience, this is not the one to buy a car from. I drive a Range Rover Sport my wife Drives a Jaguar XKRS. So we know cars. After almost 10 years of customer loyalty, I've given up on Preston service. The staff was dishonest, twice telling my wife that her car needed work that absolutely did not need to be done. Who knows how many "repairs" we have had done there in the past that were bogus. This is why people dont trust mechanics. My wife took her car to BCAA because we were suspicious of some work that Preston staff told us was necessary, and BCAA verified that it didn't need to be done. I'm sure there are some honest mechanics and others who work for Preston. One time, an employee rolled his eyes when we told him what another employee had recommended and he said, "No you don't need that." We appreciate that guy's honesty, but our lives are too busy to try to figure out who we can trust there. We'll go elsewhere. Avoid these guys. read more

If I could give you negative stars I would. In fact you owe me stars for wasting 6 hours of my time with your terrible service. Booked an appt to get two recalls on my Hummer H3 done. Had to wait a week to get parts ordered to book it. Gave vin number all details and even told them which recalls were needed gluing of louvre and hvac connectors. Get there at 10 drop off... no shuttle service offered even though it was booked. Find got a ride. 6 hrs till I was notified. They don't have the parts to do the Hvac connectors. Say what Again? You took a week to order those. Oh and the chrome louvre will be placed with a black crappy one. The f@&$ it will!!! You can have the cheome one glued down but you have to pay for that recall then as the recall says to put cheap black on on Hummer. Rest of Hummer is Chrome. I don't think so. So they want to keep Hummer over night to do part tomorrow. Nope. Let me speak to the Manager. Nope, why? I already talked to the Manager that is what will happen we fix it with black piece or don't fix it for the recall. I am absolutey livid and this is unfreaking believable that they can even do this. What a horrible dealership and a gong show. What kind of service is that?!?! What did you do for me but waste 6 hrs of my day and refuse to fix a recall and screw up on ordering parts? This is very difficult thing to write as I was a loyal Preston GM employee for 5 years. Unfortunately I have had nothing but horrible experiences in their Service Department during my time of employment with the company and after, as a regular service customer. The consistent lack of clear and timely communication is my number one complaint with my service experience. The work performed by the service technicians is not at all the issue. The issue has consistently been Service Advisors and the Assistant Service Manager. I have 15 years experience working at dealerships and by far, I have never dealt with as much misinformation, lack of transparency, outright carelessness and complete disregard for my time. It's shameful. On Friday, July 23rd at 2:43pm I get a text from Jamal Dabir, Assistant Service Manager stating my vehicle would be ready for pick-up that day and at 3:24pm I get a text from him saying the parts to perform the repair had not even arrived! Imagine my shock and confusion. How can a Service Management team member advise me my vehicle would be ready when it hadn't even gone in for the required repairs?! Ridiculous and maddening to say the least. What ensued after was nothing more than a series of finger pointing and blaming - from blaming other staff / departments at the dealership to blaming the dealership they claimed to order the parts from (my vehicle is not a GM product but since I worked at Preston's for 5 years, I had some service there). This is nothing short of a complete botch job. I would expect a higher level of care and attention from both the Service Advisor and the Assistant Service Manager who were "watching my file" (as they called it). Well who was watching my vehicle NOT go in for the required alternator and drive belt repair as I say without a vehicle for 3 days?! Who was so confident my vehicle would be ready at the end of the day WHEN IT HADN'T EVEN GONE IN THE SHOP FOR THE REQUIRED REPAIRS?! NO ONE! And NO ONE is taking accountability for this massive oversight. If I wasn't a lady I would have said massive something-that-rhymes-with "Muck Up". *insert eye roll here* All and all this issue is still not resolved and the individuals at Preston GM service continue to play the blame game while I am on day 5 without a vehicle. Never again will I support this dealership. You lost me as a customer and as someone who once referred many customers to you for the purchase of their new and pre-owned vehicles. I had only had my 2011 Convertible Camaro for 5 weeks when I discovered water on the trunk. This car had no warranty left on it. I had purchased it from Preston's so I decided to take it in to them for repair service. After booking an appointment , the woman I spoke to told me that I would need to speak to my sales person to discuss any form of compensation. An email to Henry and he championed my case to the sales manager who took care of everything. I have been bringing my car to Preston GM for years now. It's hard to find a place you can trust. I originally chose them because the service advisor I had called about a different car from a different dealership was honest in answering my questions. Whenever I have a question I feel comfortable coming in and asking. They always provide an honest answer. There has been plenty of times when they told me it's not an issue and it's fine, while other mechanics could of taken advantage of the situation. Recently my car had an issue. I dealt with service advisors Dylan and Steve, both of which were very helpful. I definately recommend them and will continue to do so. read more

I Related to Preston body shop, if your car is in and accident, don't take to this body shop. They don't have a clue, what they are doing and poor customer service. I took my truck in for an estimate they need to do and send to icbc to gat approval on the claim, I waite a month to hear back from Mike at Preston body shop, and still no call or email. I call and find out, he still has not sent the estimate into icbc and he would do it now. Now it's been 2 months and I call them for update, and they still don't have a response for me what's the update. If you don't want the business Preston, don't take it. I purchased a 2020 GMC Sierra new in 2021. At the time of purchase I was not told about free oil changes. When I brought my truck in for a warranty oil pan replacement the service tech informed me of free oil changes with new truck purchase. In fact he said I had three free oil changes! Something I had not been told. I recently called for a booking for a second free oil change but was told that it had expired? Again something which was never mentioned prior. I have just under 24,000km and only now am I down to 10% on my oil change indicator. I am extremely un happy with the response and the lack of consistent messaging from Preston staff. read more

They take forever to do an oil change. If I bring my Tahoe in I plan on not having it all day. last Time my truck was in the shop they asked to replace my license plate bulbs. 4 screws easily accessible and 2 bulbs that cost 1.50 each and charged me 50 bucks labour. I don't mind paying for work but that seems extreme. I guess they have to make money some how with no cars in there lot. They also asked me to service the drivetrain for 600 so I asked what that involved. He said they just go over everything and take the cover off and fill up fluids. after that response it didn't sound like he knew what he was talking about so I said no. This is the second time I have gone to them for an oil change and will never go back again. The first time I went I thought it was just an off day for them and their customer service, however the second experience was even worse. They didn't call me before my appointment to let me know they couldn't complete oil changes because of a broken machine. So I ended up going all the way there to be asked to rebook when they should have called me, to save me the trip and gas. When I made my second appointment they took two hours for an oil change and what was supposed to be an interior/exterior detail. The inside of my car was not cleaned at all. Nothing was wiped down and the carpets and crevasses weren't vacuumed out at all. Their customer service is terrible. I will never go back. read more

On August 24th, 2017 I leased a Chevy Cruise from Preston. I was satisfied with the car and as August 2022 approached I made the decision to buy out the lease given the used car market. I called Preston to inform them of my decision and to schedule the mandatory inspection. I brought my car in on August 11th and the inspection was done. I was informed that my car is safe to drive except it needs new tires which I purchased. On August 30th, 6 days after the warranty expires, I noticed an oil leak and brought it in and was informed that it would be $2000 to repair. I made the repair and get my car back on Sept 2nd. On Sept 5th I was driving my car and it starts to shake. A warning notification comes on and the engine light starts to flash. I pull over and have the car towed to the GM dealership in Abbotsford. They call me and ask me what type of fuel I have been putting in my car. I reply with regular and I am informed that my car needs 91 octane. I am told that the pistons need to be replaced and that it will be $5000 to repair. GM Abbotsford contacts GM Canada on my behalf and they agree to pay for half of the repair. There are no markings on the car nor is it mentioned in the owner's manual that my car needs 91 octane to run however GM Abbotsford e-mailed me the codes for my car which indicates that the car needs 91 octane. They also tell me that another Chevy Cruise came to them that day with a similar problem to my car. GM Abbotsford also calls Preston and talks with their general manager and explains this to their general manager, lets him know where on their website it shows this and emails him the codes for my car showing him that my car needs 91 octane fuel. I talk with the general manager on the phone and ask him to pay for the other half of my repair. He not only refuses but also tells me that my car will run just fine on 87 octane fuel. He knows that my car will likely have a similar problem if I keep putting 87 octane in my car but he tells me anyway that I can continue to put 87 octane fuel into my car. In my opinion, this is an avoid at all costs dealership. I understand making mistakes however when you know that you have made a mistake and you continue to deny that mistake to a customer in the face of extraordinary evidence you do not deserve a second chance. read more

Took my car in at 09:00 for an appointment to have some repairs done. Service agent told me they would call before doing anything. I did not hear from them so called at 4:00 to see how things were going. They had not even started on my car. Agent was surprised when I wanted to pick up my car. He just assumed I would leave it overnight. I need my car for business so very difficult to schedule repairs. They have no concept of customer service. This is the third time I have had problems when I took my car there so I guess it's my fault as well. I have learned my lesson now. Never buy a car there or take in for service. This company is dishonest, tried to make me pay $1200 for a brand new catalytic converter in a 2015 truck that only required a $5 stud. This company has tried to charge another family member of mine thousands and thousands of dollars for work that was fully covered under his warranty and claimed it was not. As soon as he went to another dealership there were no issues and he did not have to pay a dime. This company clearly cares only about making money and has a blatant disregard for it's customers. This is John Dang wanting to warn others about Preston GMC's overall buying and service quality. Please see my google review related to this business from Spring 2018. Today, June 4th, 2019, I just had my vehicle serviced at Carter GMC on Lougheed/Willingdon and I was so impressed. Thank you Carter GMC for restoring my trust and faith in what a GMC dealership should be. Preston GMC does not wash or vacuum your vehicle. I had my 1 and only service there in the fall of 2018 and was extremely disappointed when I picked up my vehicle, unwashed, and not vacuumed. Furthermore, their parts and service dept aren't exceptionally friendly. There's a huge difference in customer service between doing your job, and doing your job with a smile. Furthermore, their policy is not to give you a full tank of gas when you buy a NEW vehicle. The management at Preston is more interested in making excuses instead of making things right. I would never go back to Preston GMC, or refer any friends, or family members. The next GMC/Cadillac I purchase, as well as all future service appts, will always be at Carter. They are amazing! I highly suggest you READ ALL the reviews. You'll notice the HIGH number of negative comments about Preston GMC. Don't make the same mistake I did and give them your business. I totally regret it and hope you don't make the same mistake. UPDATE: June 24th, 2019 - Upon speaking to Mr. Heppner, the manager at Preston about my purchase experience, he's informed me that they've since amended their gas tank policy to ensure that all purchased vehicles now include a full tank. In lieu of this change, he sent me a $50 pre-paid gas card to Esso to make up for the 2/3 tank I received when I purchased my truck. As far as I'm concerned, they actually do care about their customer's experience AND are willing to make right a wrong. Service Department needs some customer service training my inquiries regarding GM policy like recall or notifications are meet with no knowledge and slow to respond with return followup. All I want to do is insure my vehicle is properly working and spend some money to get it in its proper working condition and they don't seem to pursue my business without my followup their would be no followup. My car was purchased at a GM dealer in Alberta, so I have been going to Preston just for the sake of brand loyalty. Most of the time I'm satisfied, but there are some recurring issues. The free vacuum is greatly appreciated, and this is partly why I keep going back, even though there are times when they have forgotten. I also appreciate the shuttle, however there have been two times when the shuttle forgot to pick me up, and I was late to work one time as a result. Both times the shuttle driver had my cell number and could have contacted me. Another issue is the calls I receive from the customer service department, which is great, except they never leave details in the message. I don't know if it's a survey, or a recall issue... very frustrating to have to phone back only to find out they want to purchase my car on a trade-in. My time is more valuable than this. I have had 3 years of consistent negative experiences from Purchase to Service, and every time I've tried to discuss the issues with managers, they are even ruder and more condescending than the staff. Test drove and sat down to negotiate..only to be told vehicle was sold days prior.. at this point we had been at the dealership for a hour. It felt like a bait and switch. The sales associate from the very beginning seemed to be very new. No introduction of his name. Didn't ask my name or contact info ect ect. His response to our frustrations were "sir I also wasted my time.." which I feel is the wrong thing to say. Very disappointed to have driven down then spent a hour to be treated and used like that. If a car is sold 2 days a go.. I'm sure there's a better system then letting someone test-drive it. Call before you go. And make sure they have it sorted out. Don't waste your time with walking in. If you dont like the associate, ask for a different one. Don't make my mistakes. It all could've been avoided with some due diligence on Preston's part. It was absolutely crushing to have the rug pulled out from under us. As consumers I understand we are only seen as $$$ and not people at times, but when you work hard save money and and take personal time out to a dealership, please don't say that it was a "waste of YOUR time ..." I bought a truck from them in the summer and they couldn't find the second set of keys so they ordered them in and said I could come back and they would program the fob and what not. So when I took it back to have some other work done I asked 4 times that they program the keys, they said no problem. When I picked the truck up there were no keys. It's now December and I took it back for a check engine light and asked once again that they program the keys I called 7 days in advance to make sure the keys would be there. No idea what I was talking about. So I tracked down the guy that sold me the truck, who happens to be the sales manager now. He said he would be there the day of my appointment to make sure it gets done. I show up for my appointment and nobody knows what I'm talking about and he is not there. So they decide to just do it. So I get a call saying everything is done my keys are programmed and the repairs for the check engine light have been made. When I pick it up there's a new laser cut key... but no fob.... now I'm going back again.... unbelievable... stay tuned. read more

I've dealt with Preston for a number of years. They have a multi million dollar showroom and an elaborate website but they cannot figure out how to plan for a simple thing like an oil change. With these fast lube centres around, in 2018 these guys haven't figured out an efficient system. Screw you around with appoints, and if they don't screw them up, it's still two hours. I didn't purchase my car at Preston but it is under warranty still so I have had it serviced there. I have had several issues with communication with the service section. First of all, the staff who answer the phones there are abhorrent. I have worked in customer service my whole life and I would never speak to a customer they way they do. The first time I was bringing my car in I asked the service receptionist (not sure of actual job title) about courtesy cars and she was unwilling to help me figure out if the cost would be covered by my warranty. While I understand that she may not have known the answer, she also refused to find out and get back to me or forward me to someone who could help me. As a result I made other arrangements to get to work and brought my car in on the day of my appointment expecting to walk home. However I was informed that it was covered and that they would take me to Enterprise to pick up a rental car right away. Since I was prepared for a 30 minute walk home, I didn't have anything on me other than my drivers license but the Enterprise courtesy shuttle driver very kindly offered to drive me home so I could pick up a credit card. I did my due diligence by calling ahead and asking the questions I am supposed to ask so that I can be prepared but my questions were met with hostility and annoyance instead. When I picked up my car, only one of the issues I brought it in for had been fixed. The service rep informed me that a part had been ordered to deal with another issue and that he would call me when it came in. About a month later after not hearing anything I called to follow up. When I spoke to the same service rep he said the part was there. It seemed to me that the part had arrived and he neglected to follow up with me. If my assumption was wrong, it seems that he would have noted that "it just arrived." or apologized for not getting back to me. He did neither. I also experienced the same frustrations I had the first time with the service receptionist when I booked a subsequent appointment so I decided to follow up with the service center manager. I sent him an email and he responded saying he would look into it but I never heard back from him again. When I went to pick up my car, I asked the service rep if the 3rd issue (a mechanical squeak) had been fixed but he said himself and the other techs couldn't hear or find this problem. When I went outside to wait for my car to be bought to me, as the car was pulling up I could here it so distinctly that I called him back and asked him to listen. Instead another tech came and determined that there was an actual problem and decided to keep my car and work on it further. At some point I imagine the manager must have mentioned to the service tech that I had complained because when I got my car back I noticed a few disconcerting things. One was that it had not been washed or vacuumed as promised. Another was that a pair of sunglasses I keep in my dashboard had been broken/vandalized. The lens on one side was popped out and missing and the frames were broken apart in one spot. I wouldn't make an accusation without any proof but I also know that absolutely no one else has been in my car without me there aside from the staff at Preston Chevy. This entire experience has not only shaken my confidence in the level of customer service I can expect if I need my car serviced in the future - but worst of all it is scary to think that if you provide any feedback you will be subject to intimidation for doing so. I really hope that this isn't what I think it is and that no one else has to go through this. read more

I've had my 2009 car for four months now. I went to Preston's because I had a great experience in the past (I have since found out they have changed owners). Long story short, my check engine light came on two weeks after purchasing the car. After fighting with Preston's for a free diagnostic because I had only had the car for such a short time, they reluctantly gave me a free diagnostic. The problems were still under the power train warranty (thank goodness). I picked up my car, left the dealership, drove 5 minutes down the street and my check engine light came back on. I immediately called them and was told there was nothing they could do, as the mechanics had gone home for the day. Angry and frustrated, I took it to a different mechanic and it was a faulty light, so I let it go. 4 months later, my engine light is on again. I took it to a mechanic that I trust, and its the mass air flow censor is dirty, needs to be replaced, and in need of new wires and such ($695). There is no way to tell for sure, but the mechanic said that shouldn't be happening after 4 months and 5000km and it was more than likely a preexisting problem. My family and I will not be returning to Preston's to purchase another vehicle or for any maintenance work ever again! read more

You ever get that feeling you know you're getting hosed yet there's nothing you can do about it? Generally ran into troubles over the last couple of years dealing with this dealership, with the idea that "well hey, I own a Chev, I should take it to GM!." He presented an alternative truck which was located at another dealership. He mentioned he had a great relationship with the dealer, and that he could bring it in if it was still available. He had us put down a deposit and meet with the finance team to get approved. After we had spent the time doing this, he informed us that he could not get a hold of the sales manager at the other dealership to have the vehicle released. He said he would keep on it and call us in the morning. The next morning, we still had not heard from him. We called him and he still had no answer. Later on, we heard that he was unable to bring the truck in. We decided to look online and found a number of other local dealerships with the model and colour we were looking for on their lot. This came as a surprise to us as Graham had told us he had checked all dealerships within the region! The main problem was the knocking noise in the Van that was repaired at Preston not at the other dealership . The hyundai Dealership repaired only the engine light But the knocking noise was still there . This dealership is a joke . I didn't explain myself correctly. This all occurred 18 months after I purchased the vehicle brand new. There should have been something Preston could have done for me rather than sticking me with a large bill that was clearly not my fault. My point being that 24 years later I have always avoided your dealership when purchasing new cars. You lost a customer ( and many more that I share the story with ) for life! read more

I think I looked at every car dealership lots in the Vancouver area for a car. I do not like over bearing salesmen and there are a lot out there.I went to Preston lot and was greeted byJack and informed to call him if or help is needed I finally found the car i was looking for. I called jack over and discussed the price . After back and forth discussion a deal was made.Jack was the best salesman i have meet in a longtime . he was polite,fair and patient.heather completed the paperwork inside and i was very impressed with her .Heather was quick and a very pleasant person to deal with.i got what i wanted,price i wanted and enjoyed the day. thank you to the whole staff. read more
