Seafood linguine

Hands down the nicest place to eat in Chilliwack. While staying at the Coast Hotel this summer during the Slow Food bike tour, I decided to be adventurous and walk around downtown 'Wack to see what there was to eat. When I came back to the hotel, footsore, hungry, and unimpressed, I went into Preston's and immediately wondered why on earth I'd wasted my time. The restaurant is on the ground floor of the Coast Chilliwack, and it is beautiful. My favourite part was the patio next to an enormous pond full of lilypads with a fountain in the centre. A turtle even popped up while I was eating dinner, just to say hello perhaps. I had a great big glass of BC white wine from the selection wines-by-the glass (9 oz = ~$13) and a creamy and delicious seafood pasta that was generous with the shellfish and salmon, if a bit rich for a summer night's eatin' I'm one of those cityfolk types who appreciates sustainable food, local produce, Oceanwise seafood, seasonal eating, all that sort of farm-to-table stuff. The chef at Preston's really tries to embrace all of that. In fact, he was out at one of the farm tour stops the next day, cooking up Angus beef on the BBQ for a long line of cyclists. Overall, a solid hotel restaurant: good food, nice digs, friendly service - and solo diner friendly.

Their BBQ ribs were delicious, so were the sides, and the service was exceptional! Great view too.

Awful service. Horrible, subpar food. Will not go back. So many better places for fine dining in Chilliwack.

Drove out the the Wack to have lunch with friends we hadn't seen in many years and went to the B&S,…read morethey picked. To be fair I had checked that area out as I know it's been revitalized in the last half decade, and the ratings were pretty good. It's a cool space with an upstairs that was not open, with a somewhat industrial look which is right up my alley. Give me open wood beams, conduit, bricks and an industrial floor and I'll move in. The service was top notch, Mackenzie was there when we wanted her, and understood we would be there a while catching up. For a younger server, she showed experience beyond her years, and was excellent. We should have tipped her more, and I hate the preset tip percentages. Typically don't use them, but I had a brain fart today. Three of our diners loved their meals. The lovely K loved the fish sandwich, our friends their B&S classic sandwich and most especially the Prawn Cobb salad. Unfortunately my Honey Thyme fried chicken sandwich was not good. Overcooked and black with a paltry amount of fries, not a good $23.00 meal. Would we go again, yes I would because I think someone just f'd my food up. If I was to get that again and it looked like mine today did I would for sure send it back.

Great food and friendly staff. Excellent happy hour prices. We often go for the fresh oysters…read more Fun and dog friendly patio.

We also ordered from their winter menu and got the calamari. It was okay, not amazing -- kinda "aight," but still decent enough. Overall, totally worth going for the burgers alone. Would come back for those for sure! Our server from Australia was amazing as well! Gave me free mashed potatoes Super clean and vintage place! Loved the vibes!

They seem to be very efficient, the moment you sit down. I don't know if that's a good thing or not but it was a little surprising. The food was good. I highly recommend the Maison burger. It is loaded with flavour, filling and has a good balance of flavours. (That onion jam really did it for me). I was so full that I didn't really eat the fries with the meal. (Also, the fries were a bit disappointing for how thin they were). I do really loved that they gave both fries and salad as a side for the burger though. That was highly appreciated on the menu. The croque Monsieur, however, was a bit worse off. It was still tasty and balanced with complex flavours (in the sandwich) but the exterior was blanketed by a thick white cream sauce that just didn't work. It tasted cheap and it ruined the crisp, buttery crunch of bread that a croque Monsieur should have. We'd come back to try some of the appetizers next time as those looked interesting.

Great food and great service. The server was very attentive, and the food was excellent. We ordered…read morethe beef roll appetizer, which was thin sliced beef with a savory sauce and cilantro rolled in homemade dough, very tasty. Then we shared chicken fried noodles and beef chop suey. The noodle dish was superficially like chicken chow mein, except the vegetables were fresh flavorful and perfect textured-- just a bit of crunch, not soggy at all-- a great complement to the house made fresh noodles. The chop suey was a very healthy dose of assorted vegetables-- cabbage, Napa cabbage, carrot, snow peas, broccoli, etc with more thin sliced beef. A very satisfying, well-prepared, and wholesome meal. Fortune cookies and dinner mints to cap it off. Our server paid great attention to us, and we had a great experience start to finish.

I still love the house special noodles with sesame sauce, I added chilli oil, mmm spicy, It tastes like Dan Dan noodles. Yum... Not too busy, the is a server is great, Mia and beer is super cold just the way it should be.

The first time, we were with a large group -- everyone was seated except two of us, and despite an empty table right next to our party, they refused to seat us together. I decided to give it another try tonight. It wasn't even busy -- maybe four other parties came in after us. Our appetizers arrived quickly, but our pho never came out, even though every group that arrived after us was served their soup. At that point, it was clear the service issues weren't a one‑off.
