I liked this place from the moment I called for an appointment - they were very friendly. My poor hair was drab and looooong over due for highlights and a decent cut. Dan really listened to what I wanted and gave me fabulous blonde highlights that look beachy and awesome. Great haircut that finally works with my hair instead of against it. I got a compliment literally 10 minutes later when I stopped in the grocery store on the way home. Prices are very reasonable as well. She always listens to what I want and always delivers excellent results. There have been times that I have stayed later than expected and she has never complained. She is very sweet and professional. This is such a great place! I had a one hour facial with Theresa and it was fantastic! I decided to go with the outer peace facial because I have hereditary acne problems and that facial I can honestly say helped my skin SO much! I can't wait to go back and get another done. My love for Aveda products had me searching for a new Aveda concept salon in the area where I live. I had been to another San Diego Aveda salon before (there are only a few and most are in North County) and it was not as convienent to go to the salon there. I did a web search for "Aveda salons and 92115" and found Pret-a-Porter. I was ready for a new style and had been thinking about cutting my long hair into a cute short summer "textured bob". So, I made the phone call as a new client for an appointment at the beginning of July. (It took me a while to post my review :) My first impression of this salon and spa is very welcoming and quaint and the employees greeted me with a smile. My stylist was very patient "with my excitment to cut my hair short" and even donated my ponytail to one of the charities collecting to make wigs. I had my eyebrows waxed that day at the end of my hair appointment and the esthetician took time to shape my brows and was very knowledgeable about Aveda products and my interest in a possible future facial. If you are looking for an Aveda salon I would highly reccomend Pret-a-Porter! I have to make my next appointment soon :) (Oh and they treat new clients with a coupon which is always nice and a coupon for your next spa visit too!) read more

Amazing, amazing, amazing! I wish I had known about Pret A Porter when I still lived locally. I got my hair styled and make up done while in town for my high school reunion, and I have to say, I felt like and looked like a million bucks when I walked out! Samantha did my hair, and she really listened to what I wanted, and it showed. Dee was my makeup artist, and she was amazing also. She told me she wanted me to be happy, and when she was done, I was! Even the front desk staff is awesome, she offered me something to drink when I first walked in, and told me how excited she was for me, when I told her I was in because of my reunion. Hands down the best hair results I've received at a salon. I had avoided doing anything to my hair because the last stylist at another salon had burnt my scalp and fried my hair (not cool). I wasn't sure what I wanted to have done. I did have few balayage inspirational pictures. I had my appointment with Emmy. She understood exactly what I wanted and made it a reality. This salon is exceptional. I've gotten my hair cut and colored by Mandy and waxing done by Teresa. Both women are wonderful, warm, and friendly. They do an excellent job every time and the whole atmosphere is inviting and relaxing. Everyone is professional and they offer you tea/water when you first arrive. There are always specials and they offer last minute appointments at a discount if you sign up for the email list, so there are always bargains to be had. I've been going to this salon for about 3-4 years and I love it. I will not go anywhere else. I've had appointments with some of the others who work here and everyone is great. I still love this place! Mandi is amazing with hair, and I have now included the massage club as part of my "me time". Delanie is fantastic, and Erika has a way with energy that makes her just amazing. I even asked Erika if she was trained in Healing Touch, and she said she wasn't. I was looking for a new place to get pedicures, and I definitely found it. After reading other reviews, I though I would give it a try, and I am so glad I did. I didn't make an appointment, but I only waited a few moments. Alva did my pedicure and she was great. My $35 pedicure included not only the usual maintenance and polish, but a callous removing treatment, a exploiting scrub, and massage, both of which would have costed extra at places I have gone before. Today was my first time at Pret A Porter and I had the best facial I have ever received. Dee, the esthetician, was very knowledgeable about the products and made my face look and feel like porcelain. I got compliments on my skin as soon as I got home. I have been to a lot of salons where they try to sell you all their products but Dee was very honest and informative as to what I needed and didn't need. I recently decided to stop dying my hair and go silver but how to get there without looking like a skunk. I went in for a consultation with Shawna who was very supportive and full of encouragement for the direction I was heading. I had been told that there was no way to go from brown hair to gray but Shawna was able to get me pretty close. I am now a very light ash blond and I believe that in a few weeks when I go back she will be able to get me white enough to tone silver. I am so glad that I went with Aveda products because with the amount of bleaching required to get my hair this light my hair would have surely been damaged. Mandy F is the bomb hair stylist. She is great. I love my color, highlight and cut - get it every 4 weeks. I had long hair and I bravely chopped it all off for a short cut. Everyone loves it. I've been coming to this salon for 5 or 6 years. I see Mandi regularly for a cut and color and she is awesome! I moved away from the La Mesa area 1 year ago but I still drive 30-40 minutes to see Mandi every 6-8 weeks. That's how much I like her! Choose another salon! Owners husband apparently is a stylist there ruined my wife's hair. Prior to apt she provided her formula of color and asked for someone with a high experience level for her cut and color. They have experience tiers/pricing so she asked to pay for the best. Looks like a kindergarten student did the job. When my wife started questioning the black streaks in her blonde she told me he was rude and responded rudely "do you want me to fix your hair or not". He is lucky I wasn't there with her at her appointment. Finally she got up saying that's it I'm done. I'll pay now and leave. She got home pissed. I wanted to head over there but she convinced me to call for a refund. Lucky again. The over the phone refunded the $115 bucks. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Don't have to write a thousand words on how bad this place is after a few pictures. This aveda salon my use some products but they are a second rate shop suites to slay little old ladies hairdo's at best. Shop owner should have stepped in and corrected the work with the 35 year experience she supposedly had. Like I said. Go another place that has real stylists and not just the aveda sign in the window. read more

I recently had an appt to get my hair done at Pret-a-Porter salon, to which I had to cancel, because I came down with a 24hr bug. I was so bummed out, however, they were able to take my last minute cancelation and book me the next day for a full highlight!. One of the owners(Rozz?) did my hair and before she was done with the highlight asked me if I wanted a haircut. I didn't go in for one, but said, if you have the time, why not. Long story short, I walked out so blonde(I love being blonde) and my hair cut was awesome. When I went in the salon my roots were pretty dark and I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get my color back to normal. She did an amazing job. The thing is I didn't know it would be so awesome until I got home and again the next day!!! I am sooo glad I found the right Aveda salon for me. I will DEF. be going back again.
