Julia, You charged me for 4 sessions(150.00) total 600.00 to get the ink OUT of my brows. Plus the initial charge of 750.00. After the FIRST complaint/problem that I was experiencing you NEVER should have charged me one penny. As I said in my prior review I was microbladed way too deep in my brows when the ink was injected. Julia from Pigmenta has corrected so many of YOUR clients and stated THIS was my problem. Tretinols, bleaching, alcohol has nothing to do with how it will totally effect my outcome. Blading too deep was the problem. Why would I want to come back for the 5th time to have you personally fix my brows when You should have offered this to me immediately when There was a problem. If I could give zero stars I would. I spent $150 for a lash lift and it has completely ruined my eyelashes. They were all severely bent/crimped with whatever adhesive they use dried onto my lashes. HUGE shout out to Gina at Prettyology. Had microblading done two days ago with her and I'm IMPRESSED. After years of over-plucking my brows (hello 90s!) and some martial arts blows to the brow area, I was left with patchy and mismatched brows. Filling them in was the bane of my morning makeup routine and I inevitably was left with two fuller but still obviously mismatched and oddly-shaped brows. After an initial consultation, I made an appointment. I was nervous, mostly because it's a semi-permanent FACIAL tattoo. If I didn't like the results, there'd be no going back for quite awhile. Gina was patient with my nervousness and REALLY listened to what I wanted, and added her professional opinions of what would work for my face and how brows can alter your look. Gina's attention to detail was key in getting exactly the ***perfect*** brows for my face. I got up front the chair and it looked like I had had a face lift! No parking is a damper for me when I opted to drive an hour to get my eyebrows shaped. Honestly, I wasn't impressed. They weren't bad by any means but I was not "wow-ed" either. While I still cannot recommend Brittany, Shalyn is a truly masterful eyebrow stylist, and I recommend her wholeheartedly (if you can afford it). Unfortunately, at $95 per session, I cannot afford it, but I envy those who can. She brought my eyebrows back to a state I am happy with, and I appreciate Prettyology's efforts to correct the wrong. Update 01/23/2018: Over 3 months later, I still have not been able to recover the damage from this awful experience. My eyebrows were so tremendously over plucked and they still have not regrown. One eyebrow is so much thinner than the other that it is actually hideous. This is that type of traumatic eyebrow experience that takes years to repair the damage from. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! 10/25/17 I came here because it is rated as the best in Boston for 2017 for eyebrows by Boston Magazine. I was deeply disappointed. I was put with Brittany, and she made my eyebrows a very weird shape that does not suit my face at all. Then, she filled them in so hideously that I felt uncomfortable leaving the salon and going out in public with them- seriously, comical Halloween-style drawn-on arches creating almost a right angle in the arch. On top of all this, she actually plucked out a chunk of my skin and I am left with a huge red cut and scab on my face that will be very hard to cover up for the next few weeks while it heals. Came to Prettyology after getting my eyebrows micro bladed elsewhere and after 4 years they had faded a blue-ish tint. I worked with Gina over the past few months and I could not be happier with my experience. From a COVID perspective, I loved that they started the process with a zoom call to discuss what I wanted, what was possible, etc. As for the actual procedure itself - it went great. I wasn't given the shape or thickness I continually kept asking for, they are uneven, and the color honestly doesn't even match. For the price payed, I shouldn't have to really do anything to my eyebrows but I'm still having to pencil/ fill them in due to how uneven they are. For my first appointment of the microblading I mentioned I wanted them more square in the front and she only did one eye brow and not the other, therefore I had to go a month plus with one square and one rounded. When in Europe I had tried lash extensions and loved them. I booked an appointment at prettyology due to the good reviews. I requested an appointment online then got a call back very normal booked an appointment. Got a reminder email and voicemail. One said 1:30pm and the other 2pm so I left a voicemail and received a return call saying it was 2pm. Unfortunately I got caught in traffic five minutes past two prettyology called I let then know I was on my way. After finding parking it is now 2:15 I have to walk to the building I don't see it so I call to ask where it is. This is where it goes bad. The receptionist is very gossip girl rude and tells me that I am to late as the lady I'm supposed to see has another client after me. I understand completely and ask to reschedule. She ignores that and keeps telling me there is a fee for that. Okay so I ask what the fee is and she tells me cost of the appointment. $250 charge to a new client late due to trying to find the place that's been in contact the whole time who wants to reschedule? Not okay. $50? $100? Okay fine. The worst part isn't the money loss it's the attitude I received. read more

Due to over plucking throughout the years, my eyebrows are very sparse with a poor shape :(. After my appointment with Sheena I feel very hopeful and satisfied about my brows. She took her time and used brow powder to fill in areas then cleaned up others by plucking. I explained my brow situation to Sheena and she advised me to use Castor Oil for 8 weeks. I bought some immediately after my appointment and I'm hoping this grows some hairs back! I read numerous reviews on Yelp and figured Hey, why not try them out? I requested an appointment via their WebForm and was contacted the next day to set my appointment. There was a slight mix-up with appointment date and time(the receptionist accidentally set it for 2/26 in stead of 2/19), but they were still able to accommodate me no problem. The place is well decorated and welcoming, and the location is great -- close to many hair salons, so you can get your eyebrows and hair done in two places in one hour. For my eyebrows, I am all about them being thick and full, and not too artificial-looking. The artist listened and adapted to what I wanted. I had microblading with Shalyn. She's simply the best, explains the process every step of the way. I knew how good she was at shaping brows because I've been seeing her for tweezing for years. I always regretted when I "cheated" on her because the shape was never as good as what she can do. So.....I bit the bullet and went for microblading because I knew how amazing it would be to have a Shalyn-shaped, full brow every day. OK people, I disagree with the other reviewers who say there was "no pain." In my opinion, it definitely felt scratchy and you may cringe here and there during the process--I simply don't know how people went through this process without experiencing that. BUT, it's not unbearable--especially once you're numbed up a little, and Shalyn preps you for everything she's doing. I was talking and laughing with her the whole time, but I definitely felt it and was ready to get it overwith! That said, she did a beautiful job and it was all worth it. I feel more confident and beautiful. Note that I'm African American with sensitive, problem skin and after my consult she did a patch test with me. I highly recommend that if you're nervous like I was to put your mind at ease. Also nothing will make you less nervous than having Shalyn do this, because these procedures are second nature to her. The day I went to her she had EIGHT other microblading clients (!) and she's been doing this for many years. Try it out if you have always wanted to do this - I just wish I'd gone in sooner! read more

Us ladies invest so much time & money into businesses that are meant to makes us look and feel at our best - we should never leave feeling dissatisfied! I saw Jackie for a full lip pigmentation to give me a fuller, natural looking lip color. You leave the initial appointment with some swelling and what looks like red lipstick that begins to peel and fade after a couple of days, which was expected. I was told I wouldn't notice much difference, and the purpose of the follow-up appointment a few weeks later would be the real deal. Well, I left the first session with a lip line BELOW my natural line, giving me thinner looking lips, and was noticeably uneven - One side of my bow was higher than the other and dip was off-center. I communicated this to Jackie during the follow-up and she evened it out, but after swelling faded it was STILL below my natural line, defeating the whole purpose of the pigmentation. After another month or so I reached out to them because I was so unhappy with the results. My lip color looked THE SAME, with maybe a little lipliner tint, but who wants that? The only time any hint of color showed was after a hot shower. They emailed me -- "Send over pictures and we can take a look and see what we can do to help." I did so and they scheduled me to come in to fix what should have been done during the initial follow-up. When checking out, the woman at the desk began to bill me $180! At NO point during our email exchanges did they mention I would be charged for needing to FIX what should have been done to begin with. I did not ask for a thinner lip line and 0/blotchy color. Don't get me wrong, Jackie was very friendly, but they need to factor in more time for services likes these that require detail and perfection, rather than feeling rushed to take the next appointment. If I'm being honest , $750 + tip + "follow-up" is not an inexpensive service like getting nails done. It's an investment! Now... 3 sessions & 5 months later, I am left with what looks like faded lipstick after a night of heavy drinking and having eaten a messy dinner with my hands as utensils. read more

Do not book more than one area on your first visit! It cost me $1300 for one eyeliner tattoo. I prepaid $650 to book my eyeliner an lip tattoo. After 30 minutes working on my right eyeliner, the first 2 needles would not hold the color in my skin so she switched needle to a bigger one. When I heard that, I knew I would not tolerate a painful 2-hour lip tattoo that also might not hold the color. I canceled the lips right then. No refund. I still paid the other $650 when I left. If I had canceled the lip within 24 hours I would not have been charged. I did cancel within that time. I knew before she started my other eye I would not do it. No refund. I paid $1300 for one eyeliner application. It includes a second tattoo soon after, but after so much complaining in emails, I will never return. That is unfair to keep that amount of money for no service. They do not care. They kept it and rationalized it. read more
