We stayed at the Prickly Pear for our second time this year 2 weeks ago. Both times our rooms were spotless, large and well appointed. We really enjoy Cave Creek's charm and many restaurants. We've stayed at another place in the area but in didn't compare with this lovely boutique inn. If we are fortunate enough to come back to Cave Creek, we'll be staying at the Prickly Pear. read more

Had a short stay at the prickly pear inn. Overall a good experience. Room is spacious, very large television and comfortable bed. Shower pressure isn't the best, but that may be because they are conserving water. Good view, had a nice fridge and stove top if needed. Parking is easy. Customer service was good, but did had slightly awkward moment. Overall the room felt clean which is a plus. Not the hotels fault (and not part of the rating) , but be aware many shops close early in the area. I think it is a good choice for the area read more

Nice big room in a great setting which was very comfortable to stay in. Had a very nice welcome on arrival and very helpful staff. For the quiet time of year I thought the room price to be expensive hence the facility was very empty. Also seems to be an excessive amount of rules to follow pre check in and whilst staying there. Found a great place to stay in Cave Creek! Clean, big rooms, very comfortable bed and nice furniture in the rooms. Outside deck area to enjoy sunrise and sunsets. The price is very good for what you get at this location. The owners are very friendly and offer great advice for what Cave Creek has to offer. The location is right in the middle of town and makes walking around town a breeze. Can't wait to come back with my very picky wife, I'm sure she'll be happy to stay here! read more

This is a very nice boutique hotel. Our room "Pancake" #208 was wonderful. It had a balcony and was quite large. Not knowing the layout of the property when we made a reservation, it said that the room had a private entrance. We assumed this was an outside entrance. What it really was, is a long private hallway that is accessible by keycard. All of the rooms are second floor rooms with elevator or stairs to reach the second level. I would highly recommend the property. Very private and quiet. read more

The room was spacious and well equipped for a short or long stay. It was immaculately clean. The heating/cooling was easy to adjust. When I was there it was 40 degrees at night and 80 degrees during the day. The location was perfect for enjoying everything Cave Creek has to offer. Staff was also very accommodating because my flight was cancelled, which changed my arrival time. The only thing I could mention as a negative is that the room that I was in was near the laundry and where housekeeping operated out of. So it was very loud on numerous occasions, and even though I love the hardwood floors, you can hear people walking around in their rooms and moving furniture very easily. But I will definitely stay there again and maybe ask for a room away from the housekeeping area. read more

Just finished a 3 day stay at PPI. The room was large really clean and in excellent condition. Inn is in walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars. There is an excellent mexican restaurant and ice vream shop at the Inn. Great place to stay. read more

The absolute best! Amazing rooms, location, and hospitality! It was more than perfect for a staycation!

We are new to Arizona and we have been venturing out and Saturday July 15, 2023 we found a great place to visit Cave Creek AZ and after having lunch in one of the local bar/restaurants we decided to stay overnight. We reached out to the local hotel/Inn Prickly Pear Inn to see if they had any rooms available and they did. We booked the room and then went to check in. Wow what a awesome place we were greeted by the most friendly people and they did everything to make sure we were taken care of. As we were checking in they sent a person up to the room before us to make sure it was dusted and the AC was turned down so it was comfortable when we entered the room. The room was very nice and we were pleasantly surprised at the layout and decor in the room. It also had a full kitchenette if you wanted to make your own meals. We talked about the possibility of having a group of our friends come and we can book this place for an epic week or weekend. We will definitely be back when it's cooler and stay a few days. My father and I came out in January of 2024 (he's looking to relocate to the very charming town of Cave Creek which is where Prickly Pear is located). Typically he stays at the Boulders - but he wanted to try something different this trip. I couldn't have better things to say about the Prickly Pear! We had to move our reservation several times because of last minute emergencies, and Rodger was incredibly accommodating to the changes. Checking in (even though we checked in after 6pm) was a breeze, and the location could not be more perfect (you are RIGHT in the center of town!) The morning after we checked in, we had not picked up our rental car yet and we needed to get some breakfast before we went house hunting (we had about 45 minutes before the realtor picked us up..) Although everything from Prickly Pear is walking distance, my father was having some trouble adjusting to the altitude - and Rodger offered to take us to a local breakfast spot (and gave us several amazing recommendations for lunch and dinner for us to try during our stay there - all of which were 10/10!!). The rooms were spacious and immaculate - plus, the rooms had full kitchens, which was great for us because we were able to reheat our leftovers on an actual stove or in and actual oven (and not just in a microwave) every night! The beds were very comfortable, the TVs were HUGE and the wifi was able to accommodate my 3 computers I needed to work on throughout my stay (that is always an issue when I travel and have work to catch up on). There were also several times I needed to print documents for work meetings (via zoom) and print our boarding passes for my father - and they were able to print those out for us at the front desk (even though my work documents were rather lengthy). The staff truly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was absolutely perfect and I am very much looking forward to coming back again soon! read more

Lovely room (204) with huge bathroom, kitchenette, dinning table, great chairs for watching the huge TV. Very, Very Clean. Friend came by for a cup of coffee. Had cream in the frig and Keurig coffee maker with different options. Also, had two bottles of complementary water. Only downside is pets are not allowed. Very very friendly staff, very clean and comfortable room. It's a smaller style place but it's such a great location for anything you want to do in Cave Creek. I wish I had pictures to add. I reserved a room here for my son over Christmas and then again over New Years. I went during the day to check him in because he was arriving late on Christmas Day. Paul checked him in and gave me the keys. He couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. He gave me a tour of the grounds and the cute little mercantile in the lobby. Such a cute boutique hotel, one that we really needed here in Cave Creek. It's centrally located in town so it's very convenient. My son raved about the rooms. He said the bed was the most comfortable he'd ever slept in. I have friends visiting soon and they are going to stay here also.. read more

As an owner of a luxury rental in Sedona I appreciate the attention to detail in the rooms. Spotlessly clean! Everything was on point down to the make-up towels, organic amenities and creamer in the refrigerator. Cute western theme without being over done. Comfortable beds, extra pillows and blankets. Great location for shopping the galleries and stores. My only complaint (and it was my inattention to the website) is I didn't realize it was above a retail plaza. We could hear the plaza music until it shut off and the gentleman in a mustang who ran his car for 30 minutes at midnight, in the back parking lot. Just be aware it is on Main Street and a bit noisy. When the fan runs or heat is on it makes the blinds knock against walls. Raise the blinds about 6-8" off floor and it stops :-) I am still giving this property 5 stars and highly recommend for those visiting Cave Creek read more

Such a great place, and so needed in Cave Creek! For years, there have been very limited choices for where to stay in Cave Creek. Prickly Pear Inn opened in late November 2017, and it's a breath of fresh air. The rooms are clean and functional, but also beautifully decorated in tasteful (not chintzy) Western decor. The kitchenettes, large bathrooms and big screen TVs make the rooms comfortable and inviting. Considerable thought has been given to the surfaces in the room--granite countertops, wood-tile floors, and rustic cabinets and ironwork to name a few things. Several rooms have private balconies with views of the fantastic mountains to the north, and it's centrally located in Cave Creek next to one of our favorite restaurants, El Encanto. There is plenty of shopping and great food within walking distance, too. The mercantile at the hotel is a good place to start! Cave Creek is a wonderful place to visit, and people go there for its ties to the past, yet convenience of the present. Prickly Pear Inn is a fantastic addition to that character. Whether you are staying in Cave Creek for a day or a week, this is the place to go! read more
