This was our second time hotel-ing during off-season here. Also our second time loving it! We did more excursions in town preventing swimming pool time, but did get to (gas) grill and hottub it one time. Upgraded wall mounted tv screens meant the need for less dressers in the bedrooms (or was that a money move, I see you guys!); missed also were the sitting chair in the bedroom corner. Additional outlets near the end tables by the bed would be great as well. Other than that, staying here was a treat, with the hope of other visits in the future!

We went shopping in Cave Creek today and wanted to stop and have a drink on the patio at Rancho Mañana because it has a beautiful view. This was 3:30 pm on a Friday afternoon and it was not crowded. We were not allowed in the patio unless we ordered a meal. Inside there were lots of tables and chairs, but since it was such a beautiful day, we really didn't want to sit inside. Our solution was to just leave and go elsewhere. We were sad though because we like this place and would like to have had a drink there. I don't quite understand the policy when there are empty tables and presumably you would like to have the business.

We had a group of 12 on a golf getaway. One of our golfer friends used a broker to arrange tee times at various courses. We played here this past Wednesday. Prior to arriving in Scottsdale it had been raining. We were concerned it'd be cart path only. Sure enough it was. Fortunately this is a short course. Having said that it's a very challenging course. Lots of hazards. And up and down. Plenty of cacti. We all enjoyed the course. Driving here felt like we were in the Old West. And the pro shop carried that same feeling.

The tub in one of the rooms! We set up it nice and relaxing!

Clean! Roomy! Awesome service! Do it guys! Book it. It was well worth it. My kids said it was like glamping! Lol we felt far away enough from Phoenix to feel like we were away. But it was just an hour away from home. The rooms are spacious. The bathrooms are great. The tvs are dated and I'm sure they will upgrade those soon. The kitchen was great. I did a lot of cooking the 2 days we stayed. The only thing I wished was the pool to be bigger. We're kinda spoiled with resort pools and this was tiny. Luckily it wasn't too crowded the weekend we went. Will definitely be back tho!

This is amazing. Stumbled on this by accident. This is a former time share turned vacation homes. Inside is set up perfect fir entertaining. Pool is amazing.

Rooms are nice and roomy. However, if you rely on internet service BEWARE. I am attaching a screen shot of the typical speed achieved through our entire stay. During our stay, I was told they were having "trouble" with the service. When checking out I was told "we have really really bad service here." I got no offer of a refund for "service fee" charges. I'll never be back.

This is a beautiful place to stay. If you are looking to relax and enjoy the desert don't wait, you won't be disappointed.

    Dirty pool

No towels at the pool, the courtyard smells like sewage and check out is 10 am with no extensions granted. Not a nice experience for 300 dollars a night. Update: We ended up having additional troubles including the pool heater being broken the pool dirty and no lights in the very dark parking lot and walkways. I may sound like I'm being nit picky but we arrived to a nice diamond resort hotel at 8pm on my birthday just myself and my young kids. We hoped for a nice time weekend getaway with the pool and some sun but that wasn't possible, that was the Real kicker. However, we made the best of it and fortunately the hotel management recognized the issues and were very accommodating. Including allowing us to play games in the lobby seating area since no swimming was avail and the restaurant didn't open till 11am at the resort but check out was 10am DOH. In the end all in all we would like to give I it a try again after a remodel/slight improvement of a few things. PROS: The rooms were lovely and the beds quite comfortable. The restaurant had delicious food and a beautiful view of the golf course.

The property is beautiful, quiet, and very clean, with plenty of space to relax. Even though we booked last minute, we were still able to get into several classes and activities, including a few we had been waitlisted for. Our room was also very nice and spotless. What truly stood out was the amazing staff. Kathleen at the front desk kindly helped check my boyfriend in early when my flight was delayed by five hours and the reservation was under my name. We also had a fantastic meal at Terras with Yolanda (highly recommend the Eggplant) and had a blast doing the high ropes course with Abe. The biggest thank you goes to Yessica in housekeeping. On the morning of checkout I unknowingly lost a one-carat diamond earring that even though was insured, I was devastated to have lost. I didn't realize it wasn't in my ear until I was almost at the airport and promptly called the resort. Yessica immediately organized a search, and although it wasn't in our bathroom as I originally thought, her team eventually located it elsewhere on the property near the restaurant/lobby. I am incredibly grateful to Yessica and the CIVANA team for going above and beyond to return something so meaningful. I will absolutely recommend this resort to everyone I know. You will arrived stressed and overstimulated and leave with a sense of calm, connection and with a restored faith in humanity.

The standalone Casita was STUNNING and we really enjoyed that space. Plus, the grounds were really beautiful. My issues were the pool customer service, food experience, and the inability to walk through the property comfortably. The pool service SUCKED. Our food was missing items that the menu said it included, the drinks were awful and didn't even come with straws, even though everyone else had straws, and there was a very disruptive family in the pool who were loud and splashing water all over the outside of the pool. At one point, they splashed us and the water got all over our food. The staff member was literally talking to us when it happened and didn't do anything about out. When the pool has a very disruptive group, the staff deal with it. The food sucked. We went to the Spotted Donkey for my wife's birthday and the food was disgusting. Soggy tacos, pre packaged rice, a totally disappointing experience and they didn't even acknowledge her birthday even though I included it on the reservation. That was a very disappointing experience. We enjoy walking resort properties and it just wasn't set up for that. You need to request a golf cart to go anywhere and some of the drivers weren't very friendly. We will absolutely not be back.

Turns out with the room you can get an arm band that can be for the day of check-in and then extends to through to the next day -- which was so much fun. So a few things to cover about this great JW Marriott. They have self parking which is $30 day or you can do valet which is $50 overnight -- the valet is kind of worth it because the self parking lot is a bit of a hike. Also the valet is pretty quick -- I never waited longer than 5 minutes for my car. The lobby is expansive and has two levels. They were passing out freshly baked cookies near the registration desk when we checked in! I had called for an early check in and my room was ready by 1pm. There was a bit of a line at the registration but it was a Friday and to be expected. As soon as we checked in we made a b-line for the water park/pools. There was someone checking purses before you entered -- I guess just to make sure no food or outside drink? They also wouldn't let my son bring in his football. It was already around 2pm and the place was filling up quickly -- all of the chairs around the lazy river were taken but we were able to find some chairs by the hot tub -- I guess not many people wanted to be near the hot tub on a 100 degree day -- which was great since we were kind of away from the crowds (but also no service even after asking a waiter to send someone over near the hot tub). The hot tub is huge and is overlooking the golf course -- there is a little pond there too and the kids were all fascinated by the fish (but you can't go into the pond). There was also some cool bird watching too. The lazy river is so much fun and we spent the majority of our time in the lazy river. There are three slides -- two that you go down without a tube and one that you can go down on a tube in tandem. My son convinced me to go on the slide together and it was scary but fun. There is also another pool that is just a pool -- more adults than kids. I did notice they have a splash pad for kids too -- something for everyone! Aqua Nights -- during the summer they have the water park open until 10pm. They switch the tubes over to lit up flamingo, dinosaur and donut tubes and there are lights everywhere and a big speaker with music. Totally different vibe than the daytime but super fun -- also we had no idea they were going to have a drone light show -- that was so cool -- My pics turned out really bad though, LOL. I did notice that you can buy separate day passes for the water park and for aqua nights -- it is pretty pricey though, I would suggest a ResortPass instead -- much more affordable but also so much fun worth it either way. The hotel room was standard but I think all the rooms have a little balcony which is super nice since my son sleeps for hours and I wake up early. The beds though were so amazingly comfortable -- I actually slept longer than I normally do! I did go down to Starbucks in the lobby for coffee in the morning and found the little desert botanical garden walk -- it is not long but there are some really cool saguaros and some other beautiful desert plants. The hotel literally has something for everyone -- we didn't even explore half of it. The resort fee also comes with balls to go to the driving range and there is a spa -- I need to come back and really explore a lot more but the water park is sooo much fun! We didn't check out any of the restaurants because we spent so much time at the water park they were closed (and we had to drive over to the desert ridge mall to find dinner) by the time we were done swimming. The restaurants look really nice though. Also there is an arcade off the registration area in the lobby and down a bunch of stairs -- that was fun! Biggest complaint is that the food and drinks (we only ate at the water park) were outrageously expensive -- and not amazing. The fries are pretty good but don't let them sit too long or they get all soggy in the hot Phoenix air.

Think adobe chic meets spa catalog. Casitas sprawl across the Sonoran landscape like they were dropped from a helicopter and told to blend in. Inside, everything is cooled, cushioned, and curated -- a million miles away from the fact you're technically in the middle of nowhere. Step outside your casita and there's a saguaro cactus giving you the side-eye, wondering why you're paying $25 for avocado toast when it grows for free right next to you. The pool is basically an oasis, complete with cabanas that make you forget Scottsdale is basically Phoenix in a nicer shirt. The spa? You'll get massaged, exfoliated, and moisturized until you feel like a well-polished golf ball. And of course, Troon North golf course looms in the background -- a lush green playground carved out of desert that makes golfers weep with joy and water conservationists weep with rage. This is the Four Seasons -- you could walk in dressed like a hungover rodeo clown and they'd still treat you like visiting royalty (we were). Staff float around like desert ninjas, topping off your drinks, folding your towels, and politely ignoring your questionable SPF choices. The poolside margaritas are $22, but don't worry -- they come with a complimentary identity crisis. Four Seasons Scottsdale isn't hospitality, it's hostility against your bank account. (because let's face it, you're not here to save money, you're here to buy bragging rights). The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale is above average, over the top, and exactly what happens when luxury colonizes the desert and wins. Funny thing is, you'll leave broke but refreshed -- which is kind of the Four Seasons brand in a nutshell.
