As another stop on Maryland's Best Ice Cream Trail, I had to stop by! One thing I've loved about the tour is how fresh the ice cream has been! This place was no exception! I walked in and my eyes were wowed by the numerous choices and flavors on the menu. I really wanted an ice cream sandwich with real cookies but I decided on a waffle cone with banana pudding ice cream. The banana pudding had actual nilla wafers in it and man! I think it was ungodly how quickly i finished it. I can definitely understand why it's on the tour. They have a nice outside patio seating but we opted to eat in the car because of the heat. Positives: great location. Unfortunately that is about it. There was a wait (which was to be expected over the weekend). I ordered a special ice cream shake concoction they were offering. The wait took WAAY too long. People who ordered their treats after me got their ice cream first. What also made the wait long was they put down the wrong name and they were calling some random person for my order! Finally when I (yes just me) figured it out, my treat was mush. Also - they didn't have all the ingredients for my treat! (If you don't have all the ingredients to make a special dessert, take it off your menu!) So they took liberties and add crap I didn't want. It tasted terrible. No apologies and no replacing my ice cream because they screwed up my name and it was now just ice cream soup with random bits of replaced toppings. I had two bites and then I spit it out. Not eating there again. Thank goodness there was a random taco truck at the same time. I was starving after riding my bike and the taco truck made up for the disastrous dessert I ordered. Good tacos, great service and killer, refreshing citrus pdrinks. Stopped in after a nice ride around the area. The line moved very quickly. The staff was very friendly and efficient. LOTS of flavors available and the ice cream was some of the best I've ever had. The only issue I had was that the parking lot is tricky for motorcycles, but that's not enough of an issue to take stars away. I went to Prigel for a make your own ice cream and farm tour event and it was so cute! One of the things I love most about my social circle is that we will always find something off the beaten path to do! The make your own ice cream was a fun experience where we were given a little guidance then left to our own devices, i would absolutely do it again but i'd leave out the pretzels. The farm tour wasn't much of a tour as it was someone leading us to where the cows were grazing and leaving us on our own. Afterwards we got a ice cream flight to try then wrapped up the day. We ordered a grilled cheese (2 tops of cheese inside) came with fresh fries! We also ordered a cup of harvest soup, it was a bit salty but tasted like fall. Lastly, we shared a cheese basket. My friends and I decided to try this place. It was quite busy when we showed up on a weekend afternoon. The line goes by pretty fast. The options for ice cream is vast. I chose a two scoop sundae with cappuccino ice cream and chocolate with hot fudge. The price was on the high side but a lot of things are nowadays. The taste of the ice cream was average, nothing special. You would think looking at the picture it would taste phenomenal. Dare I say Rita's taste better and is much cheaper. Went here to grab some ice cream on a hot, humid day. There were so many flavors to choose from and it looked like they may rotate frequently. We ended up going with a double scoop of a seasonal flavor in peach and a standard flavor of black cherry in a waffle cone. The one perk is that all of the cones come in a dish as well. Smart move on their part for people like me who have a habit of eating ice cream too slowly so that it melts all over me. The ice cream itself had a fine creamy texture, but I will say the peach tasted a little artificial, especially since I've been having real peaches for breakfast recently. I was also kind of expecting there to be peach chunks in the ice cream, especially given the price. $5.75 for a double scoop of this ice cream was a little to pricey for what we got. Another person we went with ordered the lemon, and there was a similar comment that it tasted kind of artificial, or like a lemon cookie. Maybe the key is to just avoid fruit flavors here, because another individual ordered the butter pecan and there were no complaints. Overall, it seems like this is a fun atmosphere to escape the city, but the price for quality was a little too much for us. read more

I absolutely LOVE Priegel! Nothing better than freshly made ice cream. They have maybe 30 or so flavors, in addition to milkshakes and other ice cream things like sundaes. You order inside and then pick up outside. They have multiple tables to eat outside. The ice cream is delicious and they have tons of flavors. Sometimes the service can be slow, but that's because there's often larger families, waiting for their orders. All of the employees were so kind and eager to tell you about how the ice cream is made and encourage you to try all of the flavors! The ice cream, cheeses and meats are fresh right from the farm. I took home their "Everything Cheese" and the spread was AWESOME! it tasted just like an everything bagel but in cheese form-- does it get better than that? There was no sweetness too it at all. My wife did enjoy their cotton candy ice cream so that was good. We also tried the sandwiches from the deli, and they were just regular. I got a ham sandwich and she got a PB&J sandwich. We thought they had house made jam, but it was Welch's as we could see behind the counter. She was upset about that but I thought it was funny. Great ice cream bar serving my favorite ice cream! The woman who worked here was super enthusiastic about making my brownie sundae...very into the joy of making sundaes. I got a single scoop.of chocolate on top of a brownie (from Atwater's!), which was then picked high with whipped cream and toppings. I go to Prigel once or twice a month. It's always very enjoyable. When I go, I make sure to be there around 2 pm, because I've learned that's when the cows cross the road to get milked. It's a neat experience to see them up close and talk with the lady who moves them at 2. Their ice cream is great and always delicious. I've experienced great service here each time I've been. Overall a great place to get ice cream, and it's beautiful out there too! The only thing I would suggest is having someone clean the tables outside after people eat their ice cream or even provide wipes for people to wipe tables off as needed, they are constantly sticky and dirty on the table tops and benches. read more

It's big enough to share but why would you?? They have over 15 delish flavors you can choose from and they are more than happy to provide you with a sample. Caramel pretzel is one of my favs! Not only can you get shakes, cookies, cones and Nutella waffles but freshly made milk, yogurt, meat, ice cream cakes/pies all from the farm. Found this little hidden treasure while searching on Yelp for a place to grab some ice cream after dinner. I would definitely say that that Prigel's Family Creamery is off of the beaten path, since it is off of a long, twisty, scenic road, and then there seems to be nothing else around. But it is well worth the drive, and a pretty drive at that. Since it was dark by the time we ventured out to Prigel's Family Creamery we couldn't see the cows that are milked to make the ice cream that we were getting ready to devour. But it was pretty nice to know that the ice cream that you are so eagerly waiting to lick on was produced with a few cows having a nice sleep outside the window. There was a number of flavors of ice cream to choose from and I was torn between the apple strudel and the egg nog, but in the end I opted for the egg nog, and I was pleasantly pleased with my choice. It was some of the freshest, creamiest ice cream that I have had. The ice cream literally melted in your mouth and you wanted to savor each and every bite. And knowing that it was organic made you feel even better eating the ice cream from Prigel's If your in the mood for some fantastic tasting organic ice cream made from the cows right outside the door then you have to check out Prigel's Family Creamery. Visited this place today and absolutely loved it! Went there to spend some time in nature near farm animals and have some ice cream. Although we didn't have ice cream and ended up eating food from the truck, the experience was so great! They have outdoor seating where you can see the farm animals (be aware that it is a farm so it smells like one, but what is not to love about being so close to these beautiful animals?) the back of the farm has some really cool seating area with a fire pit! My only recommendation would be to have a better set up for the bathrooms. Their food truck, The Farm Kitchen, has some excellent food!
