Bridger Brewing is one more Montana brewery I got to check off my list in regards to breweries to try. The beer that I had from this brewery was called Lee Metcalf which was a Pale Ale. It seems like this beer is one of their flagship beers and it's a good one at that! Flavors to find and have a good time with are hoppy, citrusy and floral. Unique pizza options with great beer seletion. The two of us came on a Sat night just before 6:30PM and it was challenging to find a parking spot. There was also a short wait (10-15mins) before we were able to get seated. Some great beer options. I went with the Sun Dog Cold IPA and my son went with the Mad MIle Cream Ale - we both enjoyed our selections. My son struggled to decided on which pizza to order as there were so many unique options that he wanted to try. Started with a flight to get a little taste of four different beers. We were curious about one beer that we didn't try, but one of the workers brought us each a sample on the house! He wasn't our server, but maybe was a manager? He was cool - stopped by our table a few quick times just to check in and see how the beers were tasting. I ended up ordering the cream ale (I think?) and it had a cucumber hint to it. Very refreshing after a long hot day of biking. Both me and my partner each ordered a pizza and split a small caesar salad. The "small" caesar salad was plenty for us to get in our veggies before we munched on the pizzas. It was actually a great size for a small. I ordered the pineapple express pizza and it was a lot spicier than I expected (Garlic chili sauce, Cajun pulled pork, smoked mozzarella, fresh pineapple, pickled jalapeno, fresh cilantro). The jalapeno seemed fresh because GOLLY it was spicy, I just wasn't expecting it to have that much heat. They didn't have ranch (I'm from the midwest where ranch goes on everything) but they did have a honey-lime sour cream that usually comes with the elote pizza that they provided for us. It wasn't the same as ranch, but did help to cool off the spice of my pizza. I can't remember which pizza my partner ordered but I remember it being delicious and not spicy at all like mine. Fun, young atmosphere. You could tell most of the people in there were college aged. They had an upstairs as well and I believe they also had a patio up there. The brewery has the typical Montana vibe and even on a Wednesday night they had a live band. It was nice to chat with friends and listen to the band play. Pizza was great but service is pretty slow. Really liked this place. First time here and the pizza was special. Had a solid beer too but unfortunately I don't remember the name. We had one of the special pizzas with guac and got sauce and it was surprisingly better than I imagined. Great service and quick and easy bike to eat. Back in Bozeman on business and luck for you, well more for me, that there are a couple breweries I hadn't yet visited. So welcome to Bridger Brewing which is brewery visit #288. Bridger Brewing is a big, busy place. If you're looking for a quaint tasting room where you can chat with the brewer, this ain't it. That said it's cool. Great vibe and quite busy at noonish on a Friday. A lot of college students which makes sense based on the location but certainly not just a college hang out. Lots of bar space, lots of tables, lots of people. Sometimes even I like people... Mac Mike cream ale is infused with cucumber and honeydew melon. Very, very light flavors but they definitely add a great touch. This is a beer I wish I could get at home to drink on a warm afternoon after a good days work on my property. Catharina Brazilian kettle sour was up next. This is basically a strong Berliner Weisse with guava. Nice guava aroma and loads of guava flavor to it. I do wonder who Catharina is and if she has a Brazilian but don't tell SWPFTD as she wouldn't approve... The gent working the bar gave me a taste of a mix he gives to people who are looking for ciders which was the sour mixed with ginger beer. The ginger beer balanced the sour really well and gave it some pep which was hard not to love. I would drink that! I had to try Straight Schillin' Scotch Amber as I love Scotch ales and ambers of any kind are a favorite of SWPFTD. This was a good beer. Not my favorite but that's a tough one. Still it's a solid amber ale. Antilogy black IPA was dark as night and hoppy as a rabbit. Ok, that doesn't work but it's all I had. You can't do any better! Anyway, Antilogy is a pretty mild IPA. I was going to say a good intro to IPA's but really it's good for anyone except those cretins who take weird pride in how hoppy a beer they can drink. I was hungry after getting off the plane so I went with a pizza. Apparently all the meats, etc are in house so sausage is made here. The T-Rex was my choice which had a range of meats including andouille sausage. Great pizza! I may just eat the whole 10 inch pizza right here. Don't judge me... Speaking of judging, did you ever notice that when you give someone a compliment they never respond with "Don't judge me"? It's only when you say something critical. So it's not the judging that bothers us it's the possibility you may be right about your negative judgement. Food for thought. I wrapped up with the Neon Moon oatmeal stout with Brooks & Dunn running through my head as I drank it. This was good but I must admit I think the andouille sausage affected my taste buds. BB is a definite yes for me. Two thumbs up. Staff were down to earth, cool about a larger party, and the place was very clean! We had come in last minute and they didn't treat us like an inconvenience for asking for two tables. We hit Bridger on our first night in Bozeman. The place was busy but we were still able to find a table near the bar. Had the Seasonal Harvest pizza and a couple of beers. The Hardball American stout was delicious as well as the No Coast IPA. The hazy IPA was also very good. The stout was creamy and had the perfect balance of chocolate. This is a busy, high-energy place. The staff is super friendly, and the waitress was helpful and welcoming. We ended up splitting a Caesar salad, which was very good. We then ordered a large half Italian sausage and half bison pepperoni. It was good, not great. The sauce lacked flavor, which was a bit disappointing. Also, they have no alcohol alternatives to beer. Best pizza in town I hear so I had to stop on my way to Big Sky. I was able to try their craft beer and loved the Mad Mile which was like nothing I've never had. It was like and had a melon fruit after taste which was delightful. We also had the Bridger pane bread with fig jam, walnuts and gorgonzola. It was also amazing and highly recommended. We decided on each ordering a slice of pizza which were HUGE slices. They are perfectly thin crispy slices we both had the Bison pepperoni. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect slice. TLDR = come for the beer, but check out the pizza too Exterior = 4/5 Located near the university. Parking was easily available, location is located in a small plaza with a market on the other side. May need to walk around the corner for parking but didn't have much issue. Though I did have some issue finding the entrance. Was walking around till I saw some people eating on the second floor so I assumed that was the door. Interior = 5/5 Wide open area when you walk in. There is bar seating as well as tables and booths. Recommend the tables for the larger parties since the booths go up to like 4 comfortably. Service = 5/5 Service was quick and easy. They were willing to talk us through the beers to find what we liked best. Also shared recommendations on pizzas which were helpful. Order = 4/5 Beer flight: Got pretty much all the light beers. I'm not a big beer person but I found them enjoyable. Husband found them to be a little on the strong side. But again we are not huge beer people. Bison Pepperoni Pizza: I saw bison and I had to have it. Bison in this case was similar to sausage pizza, but different. I found it to be flavorful in its own way different than pork. It was hard to explain but worth the buy since bison is a huge thing in Montana. Farm to Fig Pizza: I liked the fig on my pizza and that surprised me. I prefer white sauce so I naturally gravitated to this. The fig gave a nice sweetness which is what I assume pineapple would be to other pizzas (don't hate me). It was a sweet and savory pizza that I would order again. Overall = 4/5 It was a nice place to grab a beer and some pizza with friends while enjoying some of the craft beer and local pizza varieties. Incredibly delicious pizza! First of all the location is perfect on your way to Yellowstone and if you just visited the museum nearby. The menu is full of unique pizzas, refreshing beers, fresh salads, and other tasty food. We ordered a large Summer Elote pizza for the 2 of us and it was incredible! Definitely a top 3 pizza I've ever had! Full of flavor, packed with ingredients, and cooked to the perfect crisp level. The pizza has garlic & olive oil, seared corn, roasted bell peppers, red onion, cilantro & onion, honey-lime sour cream, and cotija cheese. I was really hesitant about the corn on pizza but it certainly worked and blended with the other ingredients nicely. The honey lime sour cream drizzled on top was my favorite part. Even the crust was flavorful and not your basic bland pizza crust. I 100% would come back here again to try another pizza. Service is great and quick, even with a busy crowd.
