In my opinion, they are terrible, but my mother taught me that if I didn't have something good to say, I should say nothing.

I went in for a hearing test - my first since grade school, I think - which Dr. Weible oriented me to and then conducted there in ten minutes in a sound-tight booth. He shared the results with me immediately and in detail, and while my comprehension was good to my surprise I had some noticeable high frequency hearing loss. He explained the hearing aid options, and the potential negatives of not doing anything, and then fitted me easily with the Lyric in-ear 24/7 aid (NYC Hearing assists in the development of this Swiss-made aid and has the latest versions). Total elapsed time: less than an hour. In the four weeks since I've been very pleased with the comfort and acuity. The return visits have been friendly and efficient and based on my last assessment I have near perfect hearing now with the Lyrics, which I forget I have in - and they are invisible to boot. I heartily recommend Dr. Weible and NYC Hearing. The 67th Street office is modern, clean, and has a wall full of platinum records from satisfied clients of the audiologists and the affiliated nose and throat practice (you'll recognize the Grammy winners among them :). Tara was personable and professional to deal with setting up the appointment and follow-ups.

I paid for them (5000) and the receptionist was suppose to send it the form to the insurance company. So after a few months, I called the insurance and they never got the claim. So I called her and told her what happened and her reaction was 'I don't know what kind of game they are playing' so this went back and forth a few times, but finally they did get it. More time went by, but I never got a check. I called the insurance company and they sent it to Servedio.. Now I call the office and the receptionist, very angry girl, denies they got a check and 'Am I calling her a liar?' i was really shocked by that--these are fighting words and not at all what I intended. I couldn't calm her down..she was ready to fight. And guess what ? They did get my check. It was put into some account of theirs and they did send me the money, but it was 9 months later and a lot of phone calls and anguish. But, the most insulting, hurtful part was when I went back to see him for a check up, the first thing he said to me was that I have to learn to be 'nicer to people'. He had no interest in hearing what I had to say. Maybe he is a hothead too. There are a lot of audiologists out there...go someplace else!

In April 2021, I purchased my first pair of hearing aids (Widex Moment 110 RIC) from audiologist Marta Gielarowiec for $3,650. At the time, I was told these were among the best hearing aids available. As a first-time hearing aid user, I trusted that recommendation. Unfortunately, I continued to struggle with hearing in environments with background noise, such as restaurants, parties, and other social settings. Conversations often became difficult to follow, and I frequently had to ask people to repeat themselves, which was frustrating and embarrassing. About a year after my purchase, Dr. Gielarowiec began encouraging me to replace my hearing aids, explaining that hearing aid technology advances rapidly. While I understand that newer technology becomes available, purchasing another set so soon after spending thousands of dollars was simply not feasible for me. What concerned me most was that the pressure to "upgrade" continued during subsequent visits. I felt that the focus had shifted from helping me get the most out of my current hearing aids to encouraging another sale. My concerns were reinforced when my husband sought to have his hearing aids repaired. We were told they were more than five years old and could not be repaired. However, another audiologist successfully repaired them and informed us that many patients continue to use and service hearing aids that are well over five years old. Based on my experience, I did not feel that my long-term hearing needs were the priority. If you value an audiologist who focuses on maximizing the performance and lifespan of your existing hearing aids before recommending costly replacements, you may wish to explore other options.

She refused to insert an ear tube, after many requests from me, and despite my history of needing them, and a few months later my eardrum spontaneously burst from congestion from a cold. When I discussed my frustration at not being heard by her, she was dismissive, defensive, and took no accountability. I finally had enough and left her practice. Since then, another ear doctor sent me for a cat scan which revealed a large growth in my ear canal (cholesteatoma) that had been eating away at my ear bones for 20 years. It required immediate surgery as it was 1/2 millimeter away from my brain. BEWARE of Dr. Keenan. I'm so grateful I found a new care team that saved my life. If I could give zero stars I would.
