We requested proposals from several…read moreelectrical companies for installation of a RV receptacle and a 20 amp receptacle and from those we selected Sermon to perform the project . They weren't the lowest cost but were close to my pencil estimate plus they were available to complete the project sooner rather than later. From arrival to look at what we needed done, providing a proposal, interfacing with the city permitting and inspection process, to completion of the work and communication with us; the Sermon personnel were very professional and efficient. The day the work was scheduled the two of them arrived between 8&9 as planned, they had the work well planned out, walked us through the planned work, efficiently completed the work with hardly any mess left behind, and 8 hours later walked us through the completed work. We turned the AC on in our trailer and voilà we can escape to air conditioned comfort in our trailer when it's super hot!!! They notified the city inspector that the installation was complete and this morning the city inspector inspected the work and approved it. Sermon provided us a copy of the city letter of notification for our records.

As for these parts markups, the prices I have been quoted were about the same or 10% more than me ordering it myself, so again, no huge markups from my experience. Our heat is currently out and they actually brought over some loaner space heaters because the part was 3 days out. The installed price for the part I need is only around $80 more than having it overnighted. Pretty honest prices in my cases.....

Got things working, but then we had another issue a day later. Jason came back and cleaned everything out again, but did not charge me because it was from the original issue. The following day, it happened again. Ben cleared the problem, but then began mapping every line I had and found there was a plastic line leading to the outside of the house where the should have been an external clean out. Spencer then showed up with another gentleman with more tools and better cameras. We had had a window well put in and did not realize the cleanout had been broken in the process. They dug down (manually with a shovel) about 3 to 4 feet until they found where the cleanout pipe had been broken. They flushed it out, ran the camera to make sure there weren't any surprises, fixed the cleanout, then cleaned everything up (including putting away some hoses I had loaned them and closing all the gates). Initially, they were not going to charge me again! There's no way I could feel good about that. They worked so hard to find and resolve the issue, which they did: permanently. Everyone was so nice, hard-working, and unflappable with the issues that arose. My home is older, so I am setting up yearly maintenance with them, and will be, happily, doing business with them for a long time to come. I cannot recommend them enough. Through a really difficult and stressful event, they made it not only bearable, but even pleasant at times because of their demeanor and candor. Thank you, Jason, Ben, Spencer, and everyone else who helped us. You are amazing.

I had an appointment for Tuesday, but that morning they called and told me they had an emergency and would not be able to come. This is understandable, however, and we just rescheduled for today (Friday). The appointment time came and went, however, with no sign of an employee, and no call. Twenty or so minutes after the scheduled time I called the office. I was informed that they had tried to call us last night to confirm the appointment, but no one had answered and so they had taken us off of their books. We have no missed calls and no messages. I don't understand why they assumed we didn't want the appointment when we had spoken to them only two days earlier, or why they couldn't have tried again this morning if it was that important to have verbal confirmation. Now I don't know when we'll have time to have a plumber return to take care of the water leaking from our shower into our basement, as we had time off this week and will return to a normal working schedule next week. TLDR; Bailed on us twice with a plumbing issue, and now we're up a creek.

Not a GOODMAN. After they installed HVAC system I gathered all model numbers and found retail prices for system. I could have bought this exact system for $4250. Plus labor and refrigerant. Difference of $11933. Divide by 19 hour means Advanced Home Services charged me $628. hour. After many calls and emails later Advanced Home Services agreed to refund $3000. This brought the hourly wage down to $459. hour. Sorry but no HVAC installer is worth $459. hour. Bottom line Advanced Home Systems cheated me out of my hard earned money and they do not care about anybody unfortunate enough to become their customer. I will never fall victim to these PREDATORS again. They are dishonest and cheaters.
