I had Dave reprogram a car key for me around summer 2015 because I managed to lose my transponder chip but he had me up and running within a day! Anyway, fast forward to January 2017 I was in a rush out the house to hit the gym after a long day and I stupidly forgot to grab my keys and locked myself out of my bedroom. (Doorknob with Keyed entry) I have a spare key but of course it was also in the room! I didn't want to bother Dave over what I thought to be a small doorknob pick job. Dec 11 2015: I'm very hesitant about giving recommendations in case someone follows my advice and doesn't have a good experience, so it is very meaningful when I say: These guys were wonderful. Everything about them was pretty much perfect.I can't think of reason to ever look for any other locksmiths. I called their number and left a message. I got a call back within 15 minutes. So no waiting around to see if I'd get a call back, or having to call anyone else. And they were really helpful and friendly. They offered to come the same day that I called. When I said it wasn't urgent, they came at 10am the next day! They gave a "heads up" call shortly before they arrived...which is very useful and much appreciated. They were exactly on time and really polite and nice. They were nice to each other as well, something that is nice to see. Dave and Prime Locksmith deserves way more than 5 stars for the service he provided to me. Recently, I lost the only key I had to my car. Prior to losing my key, my backup key had the computer chip break and I was quoted over $200 for a replacement key and told that I would have to go into the mechanics shop to have it replaced and reprogrammed. Then this week when I lost my key I didn't know what I was going to do. I called several other locksmiths found here on Yelp and no one called me back. I called Dave at the same time, and not only did he assure me he could come out to me and create two new keys he quoted me a price that was way more competitive than anyone else. I would give 10 stars if I could ...Yes, I did one of those stupid things.....locked myself out of my new apartment, at 8:30 last night UGH! I googled 24hr. Locksmiths, and Prime Locksmith popped up. Prime was my lifesaver tonight! Somehow my house key fell off of my key ring during my day and I was locked out of my house with my 12 and 8 year old sons with no solution in sight. Called another locksmith that we used in the past and advertises 24 hour service but then told me they were too busy in my area that night, so found Prime randomly through a google search - he answered the phone, was at my house quickly and at exactly the time he had quoted (which was right when my kids started asking when he would be there, so that saved me a whole lot of stress and extra questions) and we were in the house within 20 minutes after he arrived, tops. Dave is a remarkable locksmith. He was exactly on time and he quickly matched the key for a 2007 Jeep Liberty. At half the price the dealer would have charged! He also solved a problem that had been going on for years, removing a realtor's key lock from our business' front door in about 10 seconds. I can't recommend Prime highly enough! To cap it all off yesterday my tenant got trapped by a broken deadbolt in her apartment. Yesterday was Memorial Day. Dave was taking the day off, but I left a message thinking I would probably have to settle for Tuesday. I just moved and needed my locks rekeyed and a deadbolt added. I read the great reviews about Prime Locksmith but someone recommended The Flying Locksmiths in Randolph so I called them first. Should have gone with my first instinct. I ended up cancelling my appointment with the other company because after 2 days they still couldn't tell me when they'd get to my house after I told them one of my doors needed a new lock asap since the door could pop open easily and was not secure. I called Prime at 10:30 am and Dave was at my house by 11:30, done by 12:30! He was quick, professional and his price slightly cheaper too. I would give way more than five stars if I could. I've been looking for a locksmith that can program a duplicate key for my Honda Civic without breaking the bank. After some rummaging, I finally found Dave. He responded quickly and thoroughly to my inquiry (gave me a quote right away), set up an appointment at a public parking lot, and was on time for said appointment. Dave was great! My husband and I locked ourselves out after an early morning vet drop off, and after attempting to break in ourselves, we found Dave's information on Yelp and gave him a call. He was at our house within 20 minutes (sorry to the scheduled appointment he was late for!), and after checking that we did live there (always a plus), it took him mere minutes to let us in. The fee was reasonable and he worked fast. We really appreciated that he understood it was an emergency, and especially like knowing that he called his scheduled appointment to explain the situation and didn't leave them in a lurch. Dave did an outstanding job on a difficult car door lock repair. The lock broke and the pieces needed to fix it were lost. Rather than have me purchase a new lock from the dealer, Dave was able to locate a compatible lock at a junkyard, pulled it out and swapped out the cylinder so I could continue to use my current key. This took two trips to my home, plus a trip to the junkyard. Dave went out of his way to complete the repair, arrived promptly, kept me informed about the status of work, and scheduled times that were convenient to me. Dave is very respectful, punctual and cheaper than most other locksmiths... I would recommend him to any of my closest friends and relatives... I called him at 9 am one morning and by 920 he was at my door and 15 mins later he had made me a key to my Volkswagen and it worked flawlessly.., now mind you I called several other locksmiths who told me it would be 500 dollars and could take 24 hours... Dave Harter (owner) programmed an additional keyfob for my 2017 BMW X3. Do NOT believe ANY youtube videos that claim you can do this. Any year beyond 2012 is impossible. Dave charged $200 LESS than any BMW dealer and less than other locksmiths. It is quite a very involved process that takes at least 2 hours. Dave has all the up-to-date programming equipment. Prime locksmith was fantastic!!! I would highly recommend them!!! I contacted them after moving into a new house and I needed to have all of my locks changed!
