Our boxes torn apart.
Heather G.

Never use this company. We moved from Hawaii to California and our boxes came back crushed and pillaged. They stole multiple items and the claims department is a joke. One box was opened and then re-sealed with our writing on the inside. A huge clue to the fact that they went through our things. Even the communication through the entire process was a huge headache. Not only is our stuff gone, the stuff that we did get back are molded or damaged. We might as well tossed our things since that's what we will need to do anyway. Please save yourselves and find another company.

Caution I'll NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!! I had a written emailed quote for the size of each of my 55 gallon plastic containers, etc in writing! Quotes for shipping of household packed goods, no furniture was to be shipped.... I liked the fact they use by space and not weight based fee's!! I then asked if they shipped auto's too? I had a newer, 2014 low mileage ( 40 K Miles) 32,000.00$ Jeep to ship. I got a great quote for it as well!!Day of shipping, they packed my stuff on the truck, and called dispatch for a new price quote- over a thousand more!!! I refused to sign for the new pricing and called the manager. He agreed to ship with the old price quote. My jeep arrived filthy, gross looking with baked on, caked on mud. It was so dirty I couldn't tell if the paint had been scraped off. Then there was Kyle the cursing driver. MY WINDOWS WERE DOWN ( dumped mud and rocks inside my interior as well as in my window well) on the drivers side front and back... he was using my jeep to jump start another vehicle, much to my shock. He did it once and I walked out to him and said: "Hi, are you Kyle? Can I ask a question? Why are my windows down and why are you using my jeep to jump other cars and are those my new jumper cables all covered in mud?" He ignored me, drove the bronco off the ramp and it died. He jumped back in my jeep and moved it to the end of the ramp and then went to re use my jeep to jump the other car. I said: "hi," again! He looked and me and said: "What?"I asked him: to stop using my jeep to jump start other cars and asked if he had an electric portable jump box to use?" and he said :"yes but it's in the cab" I told him: "go get it please" He started cussing and dropping F bombs... He then moved the semi forward almost dropping the front end of my jeep tires off the ramp and came around and got into it and drove off spewing gravel at me and spun a 180 and came back and skidded to a stop next to me, almost hitting me while I was standing by his truck. I asked why there was mud and rocks completely covering my jeep and he said:" I drove it around the country for 11 days" I looked inside and there was mud and dirt all over the drivers side front and back and the leather wrapped steering wheel. So that's the Jeep story. Now the housing shipment was to be delivered to a different location originally. I was told when my jeep was coming "that no body wants to drive into that rural location" Having moved to a new location and notifying them immediately, they verbalized they were relieved with the new location not being out in the farm country. The day before the shipment arrival a man named Duane called and verified my address. The day of the shipping arrival he called again and verified the address and the time. I then called the office to see how much they intended on charging upon the shipments arrival. Within 5 minutes the driver called and said he could not find my house, then said: "oh I meant I can't drive there and that I would need to pay for storage and pick up my own belongings or hire an additional shuttle and if I need a shuttle and its another 300$"... After 4 hours of deliberations and them threatening to auction off all of my stuff and knowing I had my deceased grandmothers antiques in my containers, I caved into their 27 phone calls and emails and badgering and I paid. It was the last money I had to survive on for next month. Then I was told that the payment didn't go through on their end, but I could clearly see it went through on mine. I received emails from my credit card company as well as alerts to the purchase and still they wanted me to sign a document before they would allow me to move forward to get my stuff from them. Ill be monitoring my CC for the final results...Once unloaded from the u haul they drove up in( I never saw the semi they claimed couldn't get here) the containers we're broken and cracked and some just plain crushed. My cat tree stand and antique perfume table are both severely damaged. As well as broken glass that was very well bubble wrapped inside these extremely sturdy containers. I had bought the containers on Hawaii at top costs for the shipping to the mainland. I would like to say that we are a Medical/Military family of very hard workers and are in integrity with our business handlings and take pride in our professions... Clearly this company has no concern for either. I had a hard time finding them on Yelp because my paperwork says " Prime Moving" Prime is located on: Maui 808-727-1096 300 Ohukai Rd, Kihei, HI 96753 Oahu 808-727-1096 500 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96813 Los Angeles 323-451-1250 6319 Colfax Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91606 San Francisco 888-910-1230 Portland 503-917-0707 650 NE Holladay St, Portland, OR 97232 Seattle 206-203-8402 1100 Dexter Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109 Big Island 888-910-1230 New Jersey 888-910-1230 297 Getty Ave, Paterson, NJ 07503 this is per their website, Prime Moving

This is the 3rd time I have used Piece of Cake. They completed my move from lower Manhattan to…read moreCenter City Philadelphia this past week. They had seamlessly loaded the contents of my 650 square foot apartment including large/heavy fragile furniture with glass (8 foot tall dresser with mirror weighing 250 lbs, and 50 galloon reptile tank) in about 1 hour. We promptly left via car to meet them at our new address in Philly, and they arrived at exactly the same time as we did. They unloaded the truck in about an hour again, and helped partially unpack and put items in the proper places, especially the furniture that would have been hard for me to move on my own later. I will continue to use Piece of Cake, and have recommended to several friends over the years that I have been using them. It was quick working with the customer support team initially to quote the move, make payment, and on COIs and confirmation. When we move again in a couple years Piece of Cake will be the only mover I call. My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch. Piece of Cake are professionals and we love the service.

Pro-tip when moving cross country- Number your items so you can make sure all you boxes are accounted for. I might have been able to catch this earlier had I realized what was missing at drop off.

The move is finally over. Did it go as smoothly as I wanted, no! However Bacho (foreman), Ika, and…read moreAchi, did amazingly. They worked very hard. The move was the best I have experienced with a moving company [this was my 4th move]. I hope I don't have to move for a long time, but when I do, I will definitely use their service again. My bestie who was there as support, was also impressed with the work crew and will be using them when she moves later this year. J. Baron

I paid for a full packing, unpacking, disassembled and reassembled furniture long haul move from…read moreJersey City, NJ to Atlanta, GA. This was a NIGHTMARE from the start at my home with the foreman in charge of the move. He had ZERO intentions of honoring the contract quote I'd been given by his office. He started building a list of things he intended to charge me extra for 30 minutes into the move. He started with insisting that I come outside to look at the size of his truck. Which I thought was strange to start a move however after a second & third request from him I relented and went outside. My thinking being I hired a moving company so why wouldn't they come with a truck big enough for the move. So the truck was twice the size of what I needed for the move and more than big enough for my furniture to fit. However he starts to tell about how many cubic feet his truck has & that my furniture should only occupy so much space. At first I questioned him on why we were doing this before he and his other 2 crew members began working. His answer was vague and made no sense until he came into my house and proceeded to tell me that my TV's were too big and I had more items than he expected and he would have to use more boxes. So he starts to build a list of additional charges 30 minutes into the packing process. As he's building the list I showed him the written estimate I had with an itemized list of what I was quoted to compare to his list. He was visibly upset and started haggling with me about everything and going back and forth to his truck to talk to the main office. He basically stopped working to haggle with me for the next 3 hours thus slowing down the process. He tried to overcharge me for cubic feet, larger crates for my TV's and extra boxes, shrink wrap, tape etc.. A complete NIGHTMARE so 5 hours later I told him I'd had enough and I call the company directly in front of him to hold everyone accountable to what we agreed on based on a zoom video call I had with the person who gave me the estimate. In this recorded video call we itemized everything that needed to be moved & itemized the size of the furniture, TV's and the amount of boxes and materials needed for the job! The foreman was rude and disgruntled with me and the company at this point. He clearly intended to charge me an additional $1500 based off of his bogus estimate without EVER producing his copy of the original estimate. That was just the beginning of this nightmare with a rude foreman trying to bait and switch the estimate. The quality of the packing was TERRIBLE they basically threw everything in the boxes in no coordination or regard for my property. To make matters worse they didn't label ONE SINGLE BOX! The appointment was for 8am they showed up an hour late, haggled, took multiple cigarette breaks as a group and finished 8 hours later. As I'm communicating my displeasure with the situation to the office they offered me a discount on the initial payment which they honored & promise to discount the balance for my troubles because I paid cash. When my items arrived in Atlanta there was ONE mover to unload the truck and I was told there would be NO unpacking or reassembling. My new apartment is in an apartment building on the 5th floor and the elevator has sensors so basically EVERY TIME he loaded and unloaded the elevator I had to stand there and hold the door. Not to mention he's working alone and asked me to help him which I refused beyond holding the elevator doors. I paid for movers not to work for and with them. So classic poor service and several of my items were damaged upon arrival. Photos were taken of the damaged items with the promise of reimbursement. I have not heard back from the company and I've already accepted the loss so this is my only recourse. In addition to the extra one thousand dollars the company charged me for poor quality I've had to spend an additional $600 for unpacking, breaking down and removing boxes along with reassembling. This company failed me at every step and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND them at all! I would give them ZERO stars!!
