A HUGE thank you to Victor and his excellent team over at Prime Pool Service!! (This is a long review, but they certainly earned their five stars -- here's why!) We got our pool installed a few years ago. There is one caveat to our situation -- we live in a rural area and we are on a well. Being on a well has come with its own set of challenges like keeping the metal low, our waters reaction to chlorine etc. We thought we were in good hands with our original service provider, but we were NOT. They started to neglect our pool and skip important appointments. They had us buying and adding in chemicals ourselves. We expressed our concerns and showed them photos of the changes in the water. They did nothing!! Once he finally made his way out to the job site, the damage was done. Our old provider flat out refused to help fix the situation. He insisted the swamp was unavoidable because we have 'bad water'. He left us with the before picture you see in that photo. It was a DISASTER. We were left with a filthy pool and nowhere to turn. A friend had excellent things to say about Prime Pool Service and said we should give them a try. I called Victor and talked to him on the phone. Right away I could tell how invested he was in his jobs and caring for his customers. He made it a point to come out to us quickly. He got to work and set us up with a plan to get our pool back. He got the pool pumped and started cleaning it out and had it sparkling like new in no time. He even went the extra mile and did an additional treatment just to make sure that our pool had zero stains. Our pool truly looks like the first time we filled it and we could not be more grateful!! Just look at those photos! Since then, Victor has maintained the pool wonderfully. He is on top of everything, he checks in with us often. He's always monitoring our water and making sure to adjust where necessary. He truly cares about what he is doing and making sure that his clients can enjoy their investment. I called Dave shortly after we purchased our home in Tracy, the home owners prior did not keep up with regular maintenance and the pool had little to no chemicals in it and was basically a pond with chlorine. Dave quickly came out within 48hours of me reaching out and got my pool back to how it was, he balanced all the chemicals, brushed it, shocked it and cleaned out my pool filters as well. This company is one of our favorites to do business with. They have now serviced our pool for 18 years. We have had nothing less than professional service from this company. This is a family owned business that is reliable. We have gotten to know the family over the years and they are some of the nicest people we know. We couldn't help but notice some of the postings with poor ratings. They are either fake customers or they are confused about what company they dealt with. This company sucks! I can't wait for my 6-month service contract to be over so we can get rid of them. The owner spends about 4-5 minutes cleaning our pool! I watch him from inside our house sometimes and he doesn't even make an effort. We only went with them because they were voted Best of Tracy, but they are not! I don't know who are they polling when they came up with that! Oh and yesterday, my kids finally got in the spa and the bottom was so dirty that the water turned cloudy. I am very happy with the service I received for Dave. My pool pump was failing and my filter was not working. Dave gave me a very reasonable estimate to replace the pump and filter. The pump and filter work amazingly well. My pool has never been cleaner! As a termite inspector I often see Dave at inspections I am doing and he always seems through in his pool inspections and he takes the time to explain what he has found and answer questions. I have no complaints my pool always looks great and they have even done free clean ups when I've gotten behind on my brushing. They're great as responding to my emails in a timely manner. When we had a pump burn out I emailed owner Dave and he was able to quickly coordinate the replacement and installation of the pump with his repairman. All while he was on vacation with his family. For many years I tried handling my own pool cleaning and chemical requirements. Eventually, I stopped being diligent and my pool suffered. I contracted with CVPC, and he did a miraculous job recovering it. Once in a while I call him to ask him questions about the pool and he quickly responds. As a result my pool is always in good condition. His rates are definitely not the lowest, but the peace of mind of having him around to help me with any pool issues was worth it for me. I'm now downsizing, sold my home and moved to a house that will have no pool, so I will no longer need his services. read more

This is the worst pool service around! I had them service my pool for 5 months and had the worst case of algae in my pool ever! I have had pools for over 20 years and never had a problem with chemical people balancing the water and servicing my pool. Plus I was not sure the chemical guy was showing up because many times I never saw him on property. When I called the owner to complain all he could say was that more people had him for service that any other in Tracy and that he was voted Best of Tracy by the Tracy Press . Probably had his friends vote. Maybe 10 people because that is all it takes to get that award! read more

I just purchased a house with pool in Stockton for my client. Without Dave's help with pool inspection, the transaction probably would not close on time, or could even fail. We hired someone else to do the inspection initially, but the seller of the house did not get the pool ready as he promised. This was totally unexpected and was leading to the derail of the deal because we needed to remove inspection contingency shortly to get the deal closed. We needed someone to reinspect the pool once the problems get fixed but the original pool inspector won't be available for the whole week. I made many calls around the Stockton area all the way to Sacramento. No luck finding a pool inspector. Fortunately, Central Valley Pool Care showed up and Dave, after talking to me over the phone, decided to come over after normal work hours to help out. He showed up on time after 5pm, did a thorough inspection, talked to my buyer, the listing agent and the pool company the seller hired and pointed out the issues that need to be fixed to pass the inspection. He provided all the details in a report the next morning. After the issues were fixed, he made a return trip to the property to verify the repairs. Throughout the whole process, he was very professional, knowledgeable, patient,friendly and totally trustworthy. My only complain is that when I told him to come for pool inspection in Antioch, Brentwood, Concord area which is my main service area, he said he won't because he is only focused on servicing Tracy, Stockton and Manteca. I would definitely call him again whenever pool service is needed. read more

I recently fired Central Valley Pool .Best of Tracy that's a joke. My pool had algae and was cloudy my filter was running at a high number which means it has to be cleaned and all the owner tried to convince me was that I needed to buy a pool sweep from him (I already had a pool sweep working just fine) .Long story short I hired a pool maintenance person he cleaned my DISGUSTING FILTERS told me what to buy to get rid of the algae and keep it clean well it is crystal clear now. I have never met a more dishonest company as Central Valley Pool. If someone recommends them ( which I doubt) they would have to be related. If I could go lower than 1 star, I would... I have been with this company for 3 years. The first year was fine with no complaints. The second year I had to contact the owner a few times regarding service on the chemicals. But, my third and last year is the WORST. Dave the owner is very rude, this company doesn't even come out every weekend like other companies do and they just started charging more. I am very upset over this service . we used them for about 2 years ,. The renters started complaining about the pool sweep and other equipment not working.. When I went to my property , I found the pool sweep worn out and parts needed replacement and the pool equipment diverter valve maladjusted.. I corrected this my self. a few weeks later i got a call from the neighbors there saying there was water coming out of my front lawn . A call to a plumber revealed that the pool drain hose bib was left on and pool was draining into the street . Also the pool filter equipment was completely blocked and I have to pay another service to do this maintenance. I afraid to find out the condition of the filters and such , as I have doubts as to when it was cleaned last if ever. This turned into a nightmare for me as the owner offers no apologies or renumeration for poor service or damages done ( as in my case ) DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE , they suck . Too bad there is not a lower rating than 1. Hired to clean our stained foreclosure pool. We asked for acid wash, he said didn't need it, just power wash. Sent crew out, didn't work, still stained, so they filled the pool. Asked him to come out and see and he recommended acid wash and offered to do it but he would have to charge us for it. Crook, crook, crook. Very rude, disrespectful for christian. One of the worst we've had to deal with. Thankfully, we were able to cancel the maintenance contract. Hated paying him for the first wash but did because we couldn't stand him, wanted to be done. Refuse to EVER give him any business again. Steer clear! read more

I had been renting a home for 3 years with a pool that always needed a lot of attention. Other service providers came and went and the pool never looked as nice as it could. Finally I called Dave who responded immediately, made proper adjustments to the main filter and pumps and the pool cleared up without having to spend $$ on unnecessary chemicals. Dave was quick to explain to me how the system works best and took the time to show me how I can best maintain the filters and pumps. I could not have asked for better service. I have meant to write a review for quite a while now finally getting the chance. I hired Dave(the owner) over a year ago. We bought our home 3 years ago and tried doing things myself but grew tired with it not to mention the amount of money I was spending on chemicals. When we bought the house we didnt realize all the things wrong with the pool. I called about 6 pool services and Dave was the only one who showed up for an appointment let alone on time. With saying that Dave explained to me what he would need to do to get our pool dialed in and went for it. Our pool has been crystal clear since then and I have not had to worry about anything. We had our pool refinished and hired CVP to care for our pool. During the first year with him, I contacted owner as there was a staining appearing on the bottom of the pool. Apparently came out and checked it, couldn't see it and said wasn't there....I stayed with the service the next year, but now the buildup was ridiculously visible, especially once the sun was not shining on the pool. Again I contacted DA (the owner), and he was arrogant, cocky, accusing me of 'seeing things', nothing was there, etc. He refused to come out when the browinsh buildup was most visible-evenings. ("I don't do evenings). I saved the nasty notes he left me, called our two pool contractor companies, and two pool services who verified the staining. PH had not been balanced properly and that was staining the entire surface of our newly renovated pool. Owner is non-responsive...absolutely the WORST business man ever. Ignore the "Best of Tracy" as he must have cast all the votes himself. read more

The 1 star is for the work that was provided. My swimming pool had really bad algae so we decided to drain our pool. We contacted Central Valley Pool. We were quoted over $500 for this service which we were concerned about but was assured by David the owner that it costs that much and their prices have been the same for years. We TRUSTED what he said and agreed. He did an amazing job on the pool. Here is where the negative stars come in. I happen to be on Groupon and noticed Central Valley Pool was offering $299 for the same $500+ quote he gave me. I talked to David about it and first he said "they" were suppose to take that offer down and never did. Then he tells me their prices haven't changed in years. After saying that multiple times I got upset because they did change their prices for Groupon. He didn't match the price and really didn't care about losing me as a customer because I was planning on using him to do the monthly service on my pool. This was about two months ago and as of today they are still offering that service on Groupon. He claims to be a man of faith however money makes people shady. The right thing to do was to match that Groupon deal but he decided that extra $300 was more important. If you think about it he would have made more money off of me with the monthly service than the $300. He should take the "Honesty" out from his website because he's far from it. read more

This pool service is really crap! I wish I could write this with zero stars...where to begin. My wife contracted these guys to maintain our pool because I was spending so much time overseas. Previously I had maintained the pool myself for 13 years so knew it inside and out. I asked them to use liquid Chlorine, they used Chlorine tablets. This last week I found the filter stack leaking, upon inspection found the valves set wrongly so no water was leaving the filter stack. Pressure inside was 3X the upper limit. This caused a leak in my piping, which I have to repair next weekend. The pool was also dirty when I checked why, the valves supplying pressure to my creepy-crawler were set wrong! Also when I opened the filter stack, the filters were filthy. I feel stupid we paid these guys to wreck our pool equipment $99.00 a month for less than nothing! Please do your homework before hiring this company, they are truly awful!?! read more
