It'd Italian, I know, but it's also constructed by Americans, right? So to me it was a mix of Italian, but also kitsch. Entering the lobby area, I had a similar feeling. Ornate, grand, but slightly gaudy. It kind of reminded me a Real Housewives circa 2011. Definitely unique to Universal properties, but also a tiny bit dark. There was a bit of a wait at check-in but the staff was on it! So many different needs and questions, and they handled it all. Kelly checked me in and she was awesome. I loved her authenticity, helpfulness, and honestly, she really reset my energy after a long trip in. I didn't get into my room until around 4:15pm. I did request a room in a the West wing, and would probably skip asking for that in the future if the wait will be so much longer. I didn't get to try the restaurants I wanted, I was just so tired. Sal's deli and service was really cute, though! But I wasn't crazy about the sandwich (for another review). The winner in Portofino for me? The pools. I really, really loved the quieter pool away from the big pool with the slide. Now that truly felt like I was not in Orlando. The slide in the other pool is fun! The energy is high, playing top 40 hits and such. Great for kids. But the other pool? Playing old school italian music, with mostly adults, and a true villa feel. I think I would go again with family just for the pool. Though finding your way around can lead you to many stairs and a bit of a "maze" feeling. That part did feel authentically Italian, though! Ha.

Two months ago in January, we requested a stay at a beach property for our Anniversary. Our rep said that he'd call us back to confirm, yet he never did. He has never even returned any of our calls to his voicemail! We've since called the main number, only to be told that this property is now all booked up. They then sent us a confirmation for a property we didn't want (claiming that it is now the only one available in the entire area). We paid almost $500 for this "vacation" stay, but my wife and I now suspect that a "Bait and Switch" has been pulled on us. I've emailed guest services, I've repeatedly called guest service, yet no one is willing to escalate this to upper management to find out what happened back in January. My email to their "Guest Experience Team" has gone without reply. Since they already have our money, we have no choice but to stay where we don't want and take their mandatory tour. But, the way that we've been treated, I would never want to invest in their timeshare program. They simply can't be trusted!

You can also take a little scenic walk and be there in less than 10 minutes which was great since we were going to the park. The stay comes with free fast passes and early entry if you have tickets for the parks. They offer room service and have multiple bars on site with daily entertainment. Now the ROOMS are VERY outdated. For the price of the stay the rooms should be in better condition. We did complain about the smell of the room and the flickering restroom light as soon as we walked in and they did come to fix the light ASAP but the smell was there the entire stay. It smelled like mildew, like if something was wet in the room. They said they would investigate where the smell was coming from but we never heard back from them. We also noticed our fridge was not cooling our drinks but we didn't say anything to the staff so it's not like they had a chance to fix it. No points taken off there. Staff was a BIT rude, kind of dismissive at checking in and checking out. Checking in I told her we had a big group reservation and parking for everyone would be charged to that company card on file. She said she still needs a just in case something happens. I said cool and gave her my personal debit card for incidentals instead of my company card, she charged my personal card for the parking even though I had just told her we had it set up so my company card would take care of parking for all of our guests. I explained once again and she fixed it but didn't seem happy. You could pick up the attitude in her tone. Checking out: we heard we could turn our keys into guitar picks which the kids thought would be great souvenirs. Upon approaching check out I told the woman named Kat that we wanted to check out and she almost whispered under her breath "well check out is automatic but SURE I'll do it for you" I apologized because I felt like I could've explained better and told her we heard about them turning the check in card into picks and that's why we were there. l and handed her all 5 of ours cards. She said "ALL FIVE?" And just stared at me. At that point I felt like I was asking for too much and told her just the kids cards is fine. Overall, the hotel itself is gorgeous. It has a game room, multiple bars, snack/ice cream shop, pool area has a slide, sand volleyball court and multiple bars. The rooms is what stood out to us the most. We just expected the rooms to be in perfect shape. Not flickering lights and a bad smell soon as we check in for family/team vacation. One more thing there were ducks in the pool that pooped in there several times and they do not clean it up so the kids are swimming with duck poop.

There are no bath mats or rugs in the bathroom downstairs. (There were only two of us, so we had no use for the upstairs on this trip). The bathroom floor is tile and VERY slippery when stepping out of the shower. We had to lay towels on the floor. There is also no mat inside the shower, which is also slippery when wet. There were only three spoons and four forks in the kitchen. If there had been more people with us, we would have had to take turns eating. I would suggest adding more silverware since the home can accommodate eight people. It is great to have a laundry area; however, being on the second floor isn't very feasible. Since there were only two of us, and we used the downstairs bedroom and bath, we had to carry everything upstairs to wash. There are no laundry baskets in the home that would make carrying laundry upstairs easier. This is the home that was assigned to us for two people, this rental agency picks the home for you. Therefore, it was not very practical having an upstairs laundry facility. I have bad knees, and had to have my husband take care of the laundry since I am not to use steps. Although the home was extremely clean, the walls did look bad. There were many places where nails were sticking in the walls (where it appeared there used to be pictures), and many places had fresh paint to cover nail holes that didn't match the original paint at all. I know this is a cosmetic issue, and did not interfere with the actual stay in the home - but it does make the appearance of the home a bit 'ugly.' This is the first time we used this particular rental agency. I am not saying we would never use it again, but I would probably go back to using what we normally use first before using this - reason being you can actually see the home you are getting and know what it has to offer before you actually pay for it. That is one downfall of this rental agency - you don't know what you are getting until AFTER it's paid for.

The only helpful person throughout this ordeal was DeeDee, who was kind and responsive, but unfortunately, she didn't have access to the systems that actually mattered (like rental homes or ticketing). I booked a rental home for my family well in advance, expecting a smooth check-in after our cruise. Instead, I didn't receive *any* information about the property until just two hours before check-in, despite multiple attempts to get in touch for confirmation. I was left completely in the dark, not knowing if my family--including my husband and in-laws--would even have a place to sleep that night. It was embarrassing and stressful. Trey finally told me that due to an error on their end, the home I initially booked was no longer available. He promised to "find" us a replacement--*hours later*, we were placed in a home that was nothing like what we reserved. It was outdated, clearly much cheaper, and absolutely not comparable in quality. To make matters worse, no one has followed up with me about a refund, a discount, or even an apology. As a short-term rental host myself, I would *never* treat guests the way this company does. You don't leave families guessing where they'll be sleeping just hours before check-in. I was so stressed about the situation that I couldn't even enjoy time with my family at Disney Springs. The anxiety this caused completely overshadowed what should've been a relaxing part of our vacation. To top it off, I had to call and email multiple times just to get our Disney tickets delivered. DeeDee did her best to help with that, but it shouldn't have been such a struggle. Trey showed no urgency and barely communicated. He hadn't even arrived at the office by 11 a.m., while my family was left scrambling. I'm currently pursuing a refund and, unsurprisingly, haven't received any response from Trey or anyone else. Bottom line: this was a nightmare. I will *never* use Orlandovacation.com again, and I urge anyone considering them to look elsewhere--Airbnb or any other reputable service would've been a far better choice. We arrived (6 adults and 3 children) in Orlando from Brazil with a confirmed reservation and the house rented by us was being refurbished. Amazing because we did not receive any notice prior our arrival. On the contrary we received a "welcome letter" saying " Your property has been inspected prior to your arrival, so we expect you to enjoy a trouble-free stay". We did not get any support nor assistance from the manager James Cockman. The way he acted seems he does not care at all with the customer satisfaction or he considers normal the situation we faced. He offered in exchange a house completely off the standards we expected. When we said "NO" He did "ZERO" to help us to find another property in Orlando. The only thing he offered, very proud, was a full reimbursement. We were 6 adults and 3 children looking for a place to stay in Orlando in a high demand period, without ANY SUPPPORT. The reimbursement is far away from what we expected as a compensation for an absurd mistake, moral damages and time we lost. Florida Vacation Homes NEVER AGAIN.

I wouldn't hesitate to book again for the Great price.

There was a single nightstand between the beds in our room, which is a pet peeve of mine because we both like to keep water at bedside. The 27" no-name TV was very small by today's standards, and the remote control worked poorly. The room was particularly noisy in the early morning hours from the freeway directly behind the hotel. The bathroom was adequate, and there was no skimping on towels. A plus was the Dove-branded dispenser bottles in the tub shower. Breakfast requires a paper voucher, and there was a "security" person (actually 2 of them) checking, in addition to the attendant wiping tables. The food was not particularly good, but no worse than other places at this and even higher price points. Table space was very limited, almost impossibly so on the weekend. I felt as if vultures were watching over me as I ate, waiting to pounce on the table. It appears as if people in the area try to sneak in the front door for a freebie breakfast. I wish I could have told the ones I saw that it wasn't worth it. We booked this hotel because of undeserved good reviews. If we are again in the area, we will not stay at this place.

We recently stayed in orlando and needed more room than a hotel room. It was spring break for my last 2 youngins. We stayed on vista cay resort property. We rented out a very nice, spacious 3 bedroom. Looking at the reviews made me skeptical. I had to see it for myself. Each apartment unit is different. The property is gated with passcode access. The grounds were well maintained and that was a good start. Once we entered the apartment it was just right for us with plenty of room. The entire apartment was nicely decorated with flatscreen tvs with cable channels in every room plus living area. Kitchen also had all the appliances, dishes for cooking if you would like. There was also a pool table to shoot pool for entertainment in the front room. My boys enjoyed that. Throughout the night it was very peaceful. No noise or any night disturbances from the neighbors. There is a very nice lake to walk around with plenty of parking near each apartment. I will definitely rent through milllenium properties in any state i visit that they have rentals in.

Upon arrival, we checked all the rooms and noticed that the master had a queen bed. The listing…read morespecifically said that the master bedroom had a king size bed in it, this is not the case. There was no king bed in any of the rooms in the house. We book properties specifically with king size beds and would not have booked this property if we had known there was no king size bed. It's out-right false advertising. Additionally, when we went into the master bathroom to use the toilet, we removed the "sanitary paper strip" and found a giant chunk of hair inside the toilet! It was disgusting. We also noticed that there were several bleach marks and stains in the carpets as well as discoloration on the walls. We took photos of everything (including the toilet) and sent it to the property manager the same night. They never responded. If Fidelity Vacation Homes manages your rental, do not book it!
