Within a few months my price increased and it continued to increase until I was told my new monthly rate would be $298. The company never notified you in advance of these rate changes, and the service and quality of the unit does NOT warrant these types of prices. I went into my unit and it was COVERED in rodent poop. Bags were eaten through, poop was all over the floor, all over my furniture, and in boxes that were closed. The unit was so hot and humid and it was unbearable to breathe due to the amount of soot and feces in the unit. The couch got hit the worst with the infestation as it is covered in decomposed rodent poop. I asked the company if they could dispose of it due to their negligence and they told me that I needed to get rid of it myself. They said if anything was left I would be charged a hefty fee which is ridiculous considering my furniture is now ruined and instead of taking it with me on my move I need to dispose of it AND buy new items. I asked the woman working if she could at least reimburse a month's rent due to the state of my belongings and she said there was nothing she can do. This place knows that there are rodent issues. They have bait traps all around the units and the facility is quite frankly disgusting. I am so mad at myself for paying as much as I did to now have to go out and buy all new furniture. I will NEVER rent from a public storage company ever again.

All of them were pricey for only 2 guys and they were telling me it would take upwards of 8 hours (to move a 1 bedroom from Warwick, RI to Braintree, MA) which I thought was crazy! When I finally spoke with Frank from Lawton Moving & Storage, he was very nice and gave me pricing for 3 men (which was lower than any other place around for 2 men!). He also gave me a realistic time frame of 3.5-5.5 hours. I was told the men would get there between 8-8:30 the morning of the move, and they were there right after 8 am! I believe it was Tom, Eric & Eric! They got to work right away and I was impressed by how quick they moved. I had a very tricky second floor apartment to get out of, and they made it work. I also had a lot of furniture that needed to be taken apart and put back together and they did a great job. Everything got moved into the new place and set up/put together in no time. The guys were very nice and worked quick and I would hire them again in a heart beat!! Thank you Lawton Moving & Storage!!

I had the worst moving experience with this company. I had a few large pieces of antique furniture…read moremoved from RI to MA. They sped through packing up everything in RI and I was surprised when I heard from my friend that they were already en route to my home in MA. When I returned home that evening (my husband was home during the move), the first thing I saw were 3 large pieces of an armoire placed on top of my trash barrels outside with part of the facade laid on top. The remaining parts of the armoire were broken in multiple pieces. One shelf was missing. A painted bureau that had been in perfect condition prior was found to have a broken base that later completely collapsed. Three of the legs were split with missing shards. Another bureau had black streaks on the front. Finally, they were also unable to move an armoire out of a room, a piece was successfully moved into that same room years ago and that I was to deliver to a friend. This was absolutely the worst job I have ever seen. They do not even deserve one star. I provided detailed photo's of the broken parts to the company, but they made up their own version of the events and did not agree to a complete refund ($1280 with tip). They offered us $100 initially and then $300 when we protested. I now have to pay for the repairs and am not sure I will see any of the money. To add insult to injury I am missing a pair of gold earings that had been left in my room and suspect they may have taken them. My parent's independent living facility required that I select a mover on their "trusted" list. My brother had used Lawton movers the week prior based on the price they offered him and their seeming nice to deal with on the phone. Had they been careful and gone more slowly, they certainly would have made more money. In the end it would have paid off for me.
