Do NOT EVER use this storage facility. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I moved into a 5x10 storage and began paying $114 per month. Within a few months my price increased and it continued to increase until I was told my new monthly rate would be $298. The company never notified you in advance of these rate changes, and the service and quality of the unit does NOT warrant these types of prices. I went into my unit and it was COVERED in rodent poop. Bags were eaten through, poop was all over the floor, all over my furniture, and in boxes that were closed. The unit was so hot and humid and it was unbearable to breathe due to the amount of soot and feces in the unit. The couch got hit the worst with the infestation as it is covered in decomposed rodent poop. I asked the company if they could dispose of it due to their negligence and they told me that I needed to get rid of it myself. They said if anything was left I would be charged a hefty fee which is ridiculous considering my furniture is now ruined and instead of taking it with me on my move I need to dispose of it AND buy new items. I asked the woman working if she could at least reimburse a month's rent due to the state of my belongings and she said there was nothing she can do. This place knows that there are rodent issues. They have bait traps all around the units and the facility is quite frankly disgusting. I am so mad at myself for paying as much as I did to now have to go out and buy all new furniture. horrific. anyone giving a 5 stars for this location is either a bot or working there. never can get them on the phone. they locked away the carts so its hard to use. never seen the bathrooms actually open. rapid rate increases after your first few months; currently over 250% price increase after just 2 years. during cleaning they will push broken glass and rodent droppings from the hallway to the foot of your storage space. One month , I paid $150, the next it was $240. I got neither a call , nor text nor email to advise in advance. Next, it is extremely difficult to get someone on site to respond to messages. The Cranston location for the storage facility is not very well maintained. They often raise the rates without notification to the tenants and then expect you to just come out of your pocket and pay and then if not, you get a late fee on top of that. Or threatened with auction within a month. I've had a 10 x 10 unit there and it was affordable initially and then after having a few months the rates kept going up higher and higher and higher they said hey why don't you switch to a smaller unit more affordable so I switch to 5 x 10 and even now I went to go make a payment today and my payment is $30 more this month than it was last month without any notification go figure so now if you end up late on this payment they add another $ 25 Or $ 35 fee on top of that. My 5 x 10 unit now cost more than my 10 x 10 unit when I initially got it. How does this make sense. It's a Storage facility not a house. They aren't doing anything different or more to maintain it. Cockroaches, dead mice, and more! I would give 0 stars if I could. Stuff in our unit was often covered with dead cockroaches, mouse poop, or dead mice. From the beginning, communication from staff was little to none. There was never anyone at the office to help with anything, and if you ever called the customer service number there would never be any answer or callback if you left a voicemail. The rental agreement has in VERY small letters that they can change the 'terms of your contract' at any time with 30 days' notice, basically meaning they can raise your rent whenever they want. Our rent was raised every 6 months, then at one point went from 180 mo/ to 230 mo/. Moved out and went to Cubesmart for a larger unit and for less money. Buyer beware. read more

We are CLEAN people u live in a beautiful 3 bedroom townhouse and I needed to store some items along with my daughters one bedroom apartment during COVID because she has lost her job and moved in with us. I put a new chaise lounge and a very clean in great shape sofa as well as boxes, totes etc. this was done in March we went on 12/31 to put some Xmas items away and start to organize as she has bought a home abs was moving in a few weeks. The unit was infested w rat feces snd dead rats on the new chaise lounge and sofa! Our boxes were chewed up and rat feces in pans and dishes. Been with PS since September. Place is clean, brightly light, better security now that the gate is operational. The big problem comes in with staffing and carts available. I was there about 30minutes. No cars besides myself in the storage area, but when I walked in, there wasn't a single cart available to use. I walked around to the storefront to speak with someone and there's a sign on the door stating "will return". Thanks for letting your paying customers work around YOUR schedules. Horrible customer service. The management staff and employees do not care and do nothing to save their customers business. They raise fees $25+ after only 3 months of renting despite being told that our rate would not change since we started a contract at the specific rate. The items they offer for convenience are never available and their so called climate control is nothing more than constantly cold. Carts never available, security gate and doors constantly being held open by people so nothings really secure. Elevators need maintenance as we got stuck in them for over an hour and the company did NOTHING for us. This was a horrible renting experience and only lasted 3 months. No thank you. Horrendous customer service!! We placed a reservation online for one of their largest storage units. We called just to confirm it and played phone tag with a woman who never left her name. We showed up Sunday morning to make sure the unit was reserved because we need it in a couple weeks. Holy crap - from the get go, this particular woman who runs the front desk (some slightly overweight, jet black haired individual with glasses) gave us an attitude asking "Do you have an appointment?" We answered, no because we were playing phone tag with someone. She proceeds to say "Because you never left a time you were coming in" ... maybe if you told us that in the voicemails we were playing phone tag about? We asked if this unit would be held for when we move our stuff in and she said "Unless someone comes in before you -- blah blah -- I'm kind of busy here" with nothing but extreme attitude like we were interrupting her day. I want to start by saying that I don't like leaving negative reviews. Everyone has bad days and I don't judge a place after one visit. But, I have had multiple issues with the rudeness of the staff that works here. They make it very clear that anything you ask of them is a inconvenience to them. Unless they are asking a hundred questions just so you can get a quote on the place, they are of no help. If you want to borrow a cart, make sure you have a valid ID and you don't need more than one cart. They make it seem like their carts are a matter of national security to acquire, and even though no one else needs one, they will not "break the rules" if your ID is recently expired. Furthermore the manager will get a very negative attitude and refuse to help. I don't really get why it is so hard for some to help and be understanding to certain situations. This facility has a mouse problem - and buyer beware, because they can travel easily between units. My unit was completely covered with mouse feces and a dead mouse was also found in the unit. The company refuses to reimburse the value of my unusable mattress or refund any of my storage fees. The insurance policy they require only covers $250 for vermin damage (minus a $100 deductible) and is asking for original receipts and date of purchase for the mattress in order to pay the claim. Even if it were paid out, it is not nearly enough to replace the mattress. The staff here is very friendly, but I would not recommend using this facility. For $80 per month I expected my property to be kept safe and clean - this was definitely not the case. read more

Doesn't feel safe right now - August 2018. The security gate has now been broken -- and open -- for over a week. The neighborhood isn't great. The glass doors can easily be manipulated open. The lights inside are on a motion timer so they go out after 5 minutes. I won't go to my unit alone as it does not feel at all safe or secure. Apparently a truck hit the gate and that is why it won't close. They should hire a security firm in the meantime. The office is up front, not near the entrance doors. read more

I never waste my time writing reviews, but I need to express my thoughts about this place...The only good thing about this facility is the manager Chastity. She is always kind, polite and eager to help. Even when customers are not happy, including myself. The facility is filthy and no fault to the office employees. They expect the person working the front office (which at times is only one person) to answer phones, speak with new and existing customers, clean, show units to new customers while having to lock the office up while doing it, so you are unable to conduct any business in the office if needed, and you can not get a cart to use, or purchase any products if needed. No one has time to wait around until they are done... The facility is full of mice and mice feces. Homeless people hang out inside the supposedly secured gate, The large electronic secure gate was broke for months before they even fixed it. Even after it was fixed homeless people were still making a home beyond the secured gate. Also... make sure you read the contract, They'll give you a good deal to get you in the facility and then at any point and time they will raise the fee. My fee was $124.99 a month and now it's up to $150.00 a month. Just because they can!!!! Even when you pay your monthly fee on time EVERY MONTH. They have you by the balls because, who can or wants to move all their stuff once they are in? Believe me if I could, I would have pulled out after the first month. If it wasn't for Chastity always going above and beyond I would have never chosen this dump. Their insurance is a joke... Just my bedroom alone is over $4000, The insurance would cover the drawer knobs and that's about it!!!. I have had my unit in the Park Ave, Cranston location for 2 years and they raised my rent twice! They only charge you 1$ for your first month because they do not adjust your final rent payment when you move out. I closed my account on October 2nd but they still took my money for the month of October and they get very cold and detached when you call them. The facility was in better shape when I first got my unit but something happened because I ended up having mice chew through some of my boxes and the place smells like urine!! The gates are constantly left open and glass doors open on their own when you're standing on the outside so anyone can get in. The bathrooms are always locked, the water fountains don't work and the motion lights don't stay on long enough for you to see what you're doing. If you do decide to rent a unit, I strongly suggest that you use a prepaid credit card because they will nickel and dime you and just take your money and you will never get it back. Read your contract because I was told something different and they don't care if their employees misinform you. I will NEVER use them again and I certainly will NOT be suggesting them to anyone I know! read more

Beware: the contract (2. Term and Rent) basically allows PS to increase your rent whenever it chooses, with 30-days notice. I've rented for less than 6 months and the rent will now be increased 21%. Apparently, it will go up again in 6 months. Before deciding to rent, I was specifically told that this would not be done, as I had had this experience before. Two of the representatives lied to me: (1) as stated above, but (2) also when asked when I could verbally terminate the rental (I was told yesterday one day, but I see now the contract states two days), and (3) when questioned on the phone about the 21% rental increase, the representative at the facility stated it was written into the contract (no, the contract is vague, and does not stated a rental increase every 6-months). read more

However today (the day before we are suppose to move in) they called and told my son that they oversold the units and he would need to get the larger unit at the higher price. When we called the company they advised us that it is the fine print. I have the copy of the receipt and the receipt clearly states "reservations required to guarantee price".
