I forgot about this place because of the closing early issue and the lack of response from their corporate headquarters. Yes, I called! Anyway, I came here and was able to get what I wanted and leave. And I didn't overstay my welcome. I forgot that they have these fruits and veggies that I have been buying in Berkeley, because they close at the time they say they are closing. It is fine in there. I like that it's not cramped. They have a large selection of fruits and veggies. They also have the bags of beans and rice that we occasionally buy. The small selection of canned or boxed goods are not my go to items, but they have a nice selection. They have upgraded their POS system so I can use my phone wallet app to pay for things. Unfortunately, the sales person was really dismissive and rude to my parents, talking down to & interrupting my parents' excited comments. One particular offputting moment was when my parents casually brought up Costco durians in conversation to each other and the sales person immediately cut off my parents to say that we should just go to Costco if we want lower class durian. I think there was definitely some major miscommunication. Maybe we're just not the target audience, but then who is the target audience if not fellow Southeast Asian durian lovers?!?!? We ended up leaving the store & not buying anything because of the service and I'm just really sad that someone would talk to my aging parents that way :(

We bought a small mao sha wang durian and it was so disappointing. Absolutely no durian flavor and each piece barely had any flesh! For $70+ you would think there is some level of quality guarantee? You can get a cheaper durian at the grocery store.
