I love coming to Las Montañas Supermarket! From camping trips, party essentials, piñata purchases, and an in-store taqueria, bakery and tortilleria, this spot has it all and one of our favorite, go-to spots! It's a great concept to be able to shop the grocery side while grabbing a snack, juice made on the spot, or baked good! Food highlights include their chicken super burritos, gorditas, pupusas, and fresh dinner sides of rice/refried beans/salsa/chips/sour cream/guac. They have so many yummy other menu options including breakfast, full plates, family style packages, tacos, soups, nachos & more. The store is clean and spacious, clearly labeled & marked, with awesome & helpful staff! Fresh produce & meat/seafood options are also an asset, and love the bakery area - so many choices to choose from it's hard to go wrong! There's a huge parking lot as well, so that's not a worry which is nice. All in all, there's something for everyone at this family-owned and operated supermarket!

Did you know you can get desayunó here?? I got a breakfast burrito with chorizo and an horchata and stole some of my boyfriend's chocolate champurrado... pure HEAVEN. And there's also a seating area right around from where you order so you can enjoy eating before you get your energy back to go shop! It's Halloweentime so everything is themed in black and orange and purple, including the chips and conchas. I love the holiday spirit here! Definitely recommend breakfast here as well as all the other foods they have to offer. Plenty of parking and super friendly service (you don't have to speak perfect Spanish either, some will humor you in English).

First time in this store and I was impressed. There were employees all around to assist when needed. I just came back from Mexico, so I loved being able to practice my Spanish. The produce looked super colorful and delicious! They had a hot food area with a lot of menu items. Just get in line, place your order and wait for it. I went to pick up some Flor de Jamaica or loose leaf Hibiscus tea. I had some great tea in Mexico and wanted to recreate it. Now, that I've seen what's inside of this store I will definitely return. The folks are friendly and welcoming.

It's Like A Candy Store! LasMontanas always has been one of my favorite places for grocery shopping. Its by far the best Mexican grocery store in the West Contra Costa County. So clean and organized. Every aisle is in order. So many options to choose from for chips and salsas, taco meats, and produce, I feel like a kid in the candy store whenever I visit Las Montanas. I want to buy every taco meats and taste every salsa options. They also have prepared hot food to choose from: Papusas, tamales, enchiladas and so on. However, today I just shopped for some pre-game items; Chips, salsa and limes. I'll definitely come back again for more items!

Stepping in, it was like being in Mexico at a Mexican market! I love their premarinated chicken Al Pastor and handful selections of meats and salsa! They have what a Mexican market would have for groceries and cooked foods! Nacho chips were of variety as well as baked goods! I adore their fresh juices and smoothies! It's refreshing. A spacious market and fits that Mexican taco craving if one wants to cook it up and eat at home!

We went to the store for a Rosca de Reyes. First impressions: plenty of parking, store was clean, and everyone was wearing masks. Customer service: We were approached by several employees to see if we needed help. Rosca de Reyes: Decent looking roscas for reasonable prices. Taste was good but I don't think it was freshly baked the day we picked it up. Maybe a day or two old. Other items: great selection of produce and veggies and fruit looked fresh.

That's embarrassing that's taking advantage of people

It's embarrassing about the prices. Are used to have an item for $4.99 no double the price $10 that's embarrassing is it was a Chile relleno how can this happen? I hope the owner of this place says this comment my phone number is 510512 3757 so embarrassing how dare you guys put the price from $4.99 to $10 Shame on you guys

    Pork and cheese pupusas! Yum!

We've come here like forever. We love grabbing the agua frescas, my favorite is strawberry or watermelon. We love going all the way to the back of the store to grab marinated chicken (pollo asado) to grill. I also stop at the bakery on the right side of the story to pick up tres Leche cakes, they are delicious. But they have other tasty desserts like flan, cheesecake and cookies. I love their fresh pink cookies and the ones with the sprinkles. But I especially love their hot food section in front of the store to the left. We've ordered food here many times for parties: rice and beans, grilled chicken, shredded pork and everyone could make their own tacos. But ohhhh I especially love their shrimp tacos and pork and cheese pupusas. Mmmmmmm. If you decide to sit and eat don't forget proof of your vaccination card.

If you order food there be careful because there has been multiple times I find hair in the food. Specially in the beans.

Very good Mexican supermarket, what you'd expect in a good sized Mexican city. Plus a good cafeteria style cafe, eat in or take out.

I ordered the El dorado. Their rotisserie chicken, pepper-jack cheese, chipotle aioli, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, hatch chiles, jalapeno and pepperoncini. I'm am such a sucker for sandwiches! This thing is on a big piece of ciabatta, toasted in their panini press. This thing is soooooo delicious. They usually premade it which isn't the same but I somehow manage to get there when their cold case is empty so that means..... fresh hot rotisserie!!! This hits the spot everytime! The worker who took my order, the young man was trying to work as fast as he could considering he was way past his time to take a lunch. It was a bit long to make two sandwiches but I understand considering everyone else was helping someone. He was nice, apologized for the wait. He made a damn good sandwich!

They play fun music that sometimes makes people spontaneously break into song and dance in the aisles. Okay, maybe I'm painting an exaggerated picture here - it's not like a musical - you need to go to the Oakland store for that level of engagement ;) The Richmond store aisles also feel a bit more spacious than other branches of the GO and staff members are usually friendly. Anyway, the Grocery Outlet is becoming increasingly useful for anyone on a budget (check out Ethical Bargains) and especially anyone who's trying to adopt a more sustainable, plant-based diet. Meat and dairy substitutes can be expensive, so this is one of my main reasons for going. The other is red wine - it can be a lot of fun trying to find excellent wines there and some are on sale for a fifth of the normal price. Current wine tip: Sebastiani winery. Overall, I think that the Grocery Outlet deserves 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these factors: * Stocking food that would otherwise be in danger of being tossed out because of packaging changes, overstock, imperfections, or looming expiration dates, is part of a solution to the huge problem of food waste. Around 30% of food is wasted globally, contributing 8% of greenhouse gas emissions. * GO stores have been trending towards stocking more plant-based and organic food. * The Grocery Outlet stocks a good number of brands that rate well, ethically. For example, Miyoko's, Cascadian Farm, Dr. Bronner's soap, Treeline vegan cheese, Beyond Good chocolate, etc.) * The Grocery Outlet brings plant-based food (meat substitutes like Beyond Burgers) within reach for those on a budget who want to live a more sustainable life.

After having dinner at one our regular place, Google maps directed us north this time to get onto the freeway. After traveling two blocks, we came across this Grocery Outlet and had to check it out. It was a stand- alone store and it had its own large parking lot. This store is large, spacious with wide aisles compared to typical stores. Large displays of items and there were many hot buys and deals. The refrigerated section of produce, meats, deli and dairy covered the back wall of the store. The store was well stocked and carries a lot of inventory in each category, so you get a lot of options here. Scored on mangos at $.50, Guinness pretzels at $.50 and 22oz organic granola for $1.99. This is one of the better GO stores that I've shopped. A good store choice for you Grocery Outlet shoppers if you're in the area.
