My first let down-when I signed up for the hcg program I was under the impression that I would working directly with a doctor and he would be counseling me through this lifestyle change. Instead i mainly worked with angela. she was an awesome sweet girl but if im spending 1000 bucks i want to work with a doctor. there was no weigh in and no testing of body fat % which was my second let down. basically all your paying for is a little book with a basic description of the program and the daily hcg injections. but here is where i was screwed over and feel like i now really wasted my time and money. a week into the program i lost about 10 lbs and i was doing very well. i looked at my hcg injections and noticed that one of them was completely empty and i was missing another vile as well. i contacted angela immediately and notified her that i was going to run out of injectiion and she insited that it was "fine". long story short i missed to consecutive days of injections and gained the majority of my weight back. I started my journey April 28th, 2019 weighing in at about 355 Lbs and as of January 1st, 2020 I was down to 280 and still counting down. Down -75Lbs in 8 months. Before entrusting this program, I was lost and scared that I was going to die quite literally.. I was literally killing myself with food due to down spiraling mindset. The worst part was knowing I am killing myself and still being powerless over my own decisions and actions. I was so sad, depressed, angry, resentful, and not in a good place. It is very rare to find genuine people whose sole purpose is to empower others with no expectation of us returning the favor. I was very reluctant to take the advice that was given due to many times trying and failing before. So I thought, "How is this going to be any different?" I was in denial about everything in my life, partly because I felt I had done everything in my power to lose weight on my own and to show any progress toward a healthier way of living. I realized I was powerless over my own decisions and I had no control over my destructive patterns of food choices and I came to realize how I was completely addicted to all the wrong things. If I've learned anything from this program, I've learned that micro steps equals macro wins. If I just take things minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year, or decade by decade, that I can achieve anything I set my mind to. I know it sounds cliche, but by having the accountability, empathy, and to truly feel the genuine passion of my LeanMD team of wanting to make me better, some times more than I wanted to make me better, it instilled a strong belief in myself to succeed. They have always been very kind and considerate towards me. Often times I didn't have anyone to watch my infant son and they were very understanding towards me and allowed me to bring him into the office for my appointments. Some things to consider: 1) The hours. They are only open a few days a week with limited hours so you have to be really flexible with your hours to get an appointment. Luckily once you get a certain you are often able to keep that same time slot for awhile, but it doesn't always happen that way. 2) Communication. A) There have been times where I have had something come up with work or had a family emergency so I had to cancel my appointment. Even calling days before and leaving a message, asking for a call back and I don't receive one. 3) Processing Monthly Payments- This is supposed to be automatic and it never is. Every single month I literally had to chase someone down to make sure my payment is taken care of. Especially for how much I was paying for the "VIP" membership, you would think they'd have a streamlined system for those automatic payments. I was always told "it's our new system" but for how long can you blame the new system. The do switch their systems quite a bit too, which is a problem more on their IT side and not the office itself. Overall, I enjoyed my time at JumpStartMD. I wish there was a tele-health option for people who move out of the area. They said it's something they are hoping to get into. When they do, hopefully I can come back. Until then I am able to continue with the healthy habits that they helped me form.
