a variety of foods on a table
    Bridgette Z.

Ok the cutest little hidden gem ever!!! Does not look like much from the outside but it's beautiful on the inside. Lots of kitchenware, decor, a deli, and lots of italian groceries. We stopped in to get some charcuterie items - prosciutto, salami, cheese and crackers. The meat was sliced fresh and the service was very friendly.

This garbage cost me $18.00. The lasagne noodles were completely over cooked and the meat sauce reminded me of Chef Boy-R-Dee
    Thomas D.

I was there this past Sunday for the 4th time. As per usual, they were out of the ravioli advertised out front. While waiting to order, I witnessed one of the owners assistants excuse herself to the rear of the building in order to make a customers Tonno sandwich. Apparently the owner is allergic to tuna and had a bit of a fit that her help would even dare to open a can of fish near her. I watched as this girl went to the rear doorway, opened a folding chair, knelt down like a catcher, opened a jar (more likely a can) of tuna and finished a customers sandwich in what I'm guessing was NOT an approved food preparation area. GROSS As if the stale ciabatta they serve sandwiches on wasn't enough, they actually make your food on portable furniture that probably isn't sanitized! Neat-o! Speaking of sandwiches, if you're naive enough to believe that their sandwiches are anything more than stale bread with run of the mill Italian cold cuts, than you're also dumb enough to pay $12 for one. There is nothing special about them. Trying to stay positive I decided to order one of their lasagne for dinner as the woman in front of me purchased the final 2#'s of rigatoni they had. I was stuck trying to decide what to eat knowing that I may receive something made on a dusty table in the rear of the store. I hope the chick that bough that rigatoni and sauce had better luck than I did with the lasagne. Because what they sold me was garbage. Look, you want to act like this joint is somehow genuine Italian because it's quaint and located in a bougie area, that's cool. But you're dumb. Most of what they offer is easily acquired stuff without the 200% mark up. Educate yourself and then shop elsewhere.

    Bucatini all'Amatriciana ingredients!

A week after coming back from Italy, I was just craving authentic amatriciana, but couldn't find a single restaurant around me that made it the right way: with guanciale (NOT pancetta). I decided to make it on my own, and I ran into another issue: almost none of the Italian markets around here carry guanciale! Finally, Yelp led me to Primi Piatti, which is small but extremely well-stocked. Not only did they have my coveted guanciale, but they also had some amazing fresh bucatini, pecorino romano, and a variety of tomato sauces. Their ingredients were exactly what I needed to make some delicious, authentic bucatini all'Amatriciana. Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is they accidentally (I hope) overcharged me for the guanciale. Originally, I asked about the price for a whole piece they had, but eventually I asked them to only cut up 2/3 of that piece for me. When I got home, I noticed on the receipt that they charged me for the full piece. Disappointing, but probably an honest mistake.

Antipasto platter for 10! Outstanding cheeses, meats and grilled veggies!

What a Birmingham treasure! Ordered Christmas Eve lasagna and antipasto platter and they were outstanding!!! So many dinner compliments! Monica and her staff were so friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend any of the pastas and the chicken meatballs are to die for!

The fresh made daily lasagna was the best I ever had you just bring it home and pop in the oven to heat it up Made cooking dinner tonight so easy I'll definitely be back to try some fresh pasta & sauce Everything in there store is fresh made or imported from Italy

    The fresh rigatoni.

A very good Italian restaurant. They are very rare in the Detrot area. Some suggestions for the menu: clams possilppo and veal piziola.

The…read morequality and consistency are great, though I honestly think the meat would shine even more as a traditional 1/4 or 1/2 pound patty rather than a smash burger. A thicker cut would really let you taste the high-quality flavor of the beef. If you're going to order, here are a few pro tips: Get the sauce on the side: It's an excellent sauce, but you are much better off dipping. Otherwise, the burger will totally get drenched and lose the meat flavor profile. The bacon situation: They smash little bits of bacon directly into the patty. You can barely taste it this way, and it would be significantly better just served as traditional strips on top. So I would prob get it without next time. The Tallow Fries: These have huge potential, but unfortunately, mine arrived pretty soggy via delivery. I should have thrown them in the air fryer to crisp them back up, as I know they would be amazing fresh out of the fryer dripping in tallow. And they would have worked much better as larger almost steak cut fries to let the tallow flavor shine more. However as i ate them, i would still choose cajun 5 guys fries well done over them. My order for a burger and fries came to almost $40 (including tip) through their delivery service. Is it worth that price point for a delivery order? Probably not. However, the core ingredients are so good that I definitely plan to visit the restaurant in person so I can experience the food fresh and at its best.

Deep sigh. Marrow please don't start messing with excellence. I'm leaving this a 4 star review…read morebecause up until this point, I have LOVED Marrow. The smash burgers are fire. I've gotten my Thanksgiving turkey from here. They often have yummy soups (especially the chorizo chowder). All of the being said, I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED today. My bf and I typically get one burger and one turkey sandwich and exchange halves. Today the turkey was awful and I threw it away uneaten. You changed everything that made it delicious. Today it was on the hard ciabatta roll. The turkey was just slices slapped on the bread when it used to be kind of shredded. There was no spicy giardenera.. The brie was just some sort of melted brie slices when before it was a brie fondue sauce. I wanted to cry. This is the quickest way to lose customers.. changing what's tried and true
