    Cornbeef sandwich

Service is superb! Not my best cornbeef sandwich but I would try other food items. Cozy diner.

    Latkes and blintzes menu

Apparently this is the spot where Deli Unique used to be - I grew up in the WB area and I vaguely remember going there. I had never tried Pickles and Rye Deli before and another friend always talks it up, so when a different friend wanted to meet here for lunch today I was excited to try it. They start you off with a pickle plate, which was awesome, and some crunchy rye bread. The pickle plate included some new dill pickles and some old dill, my preference is new deal and so is my friend's so we asked for more of those. I am not a big deli sandwich fan but it looks like they have breakfast all day, and I ended up getting a cup of the kreplach soup and two potato latkes. The latkes are small-ish but make up for it in volume - unfortunately I did not take a photo but they came with applesauce and sour cream and they were very good. On the menu, it says $6 per potato pancake and $15 for a plate; a plate is 6 potato pancakes, but you can get 2 latkes for $6, so I'm not sure why it says $6 for one. My friend got the chicken Caesar salad, but with their garlic sauce instead of Caesar. I think she liked it a lot but she said their croutons have changed since the last time she got it. I also got a deli sandwich to go for my husband, so we'll see what his opinion is of it. There are a lot of delis in this area, most deli sandwiches now range about $15 which I feel like is expensive, but this deli was on par with those prices. My friend also got a slice of the strawberry cheesecake to-go for her husband and it looked really good. Overall I would come back here just for the soup, pickle plate, and potato latkes, but I'd like to try more of the menu as well.

    Avocado toast with added lox's

We went early morning so wasn't ready for anything heavy so I love avocado toast and I decided to add the lox they have a little salad on the side. It was more than enough ..and delicious .. every employee spoke whether they waited on us or not thought it was very friendly environment .. service was good and prompt. The bread with the pickles rye was the first serving and it was delicious. It was nice and warm and soft fresh bread, ambience was crowded as lunch crowd grew and I enjoyed it. I'll go back.

We were on this sound of town at lunch time and I always love a good Jewish deli, so we stopped by for a meal. The place was much bigger than we thought it would be! Our server, Cathy, was very friendly and attentive. I stuck with a classic - I got the "My Deli Addiction" - corned beef, cole slaw, Swiss and Russian dressing on rye. It was huge and messy...but it was delicious! My wife had the open face turkey sandwich and liked it. I look forward to going back and trying other items on the menu!

Great food and staff! The restaurant was very clean, they offer pickles and rye bread to start and I highly recommend. Everything we tried was delicious. It is pricey in my opinion, $15 for a tuna sandwich (just the sandwich) was a bit much for me. But the food quality was amazing.

I visited Pickles and Rye this week and I am so happy I did! The sandwiches were amazing! Totally tender, flavorful and each bite was great! The sides didn't want to take a back seat to the sandwiches! I couldn't get enough of those crunchy and delicious onion rings! The seasoned fries and the cheddar tots were also really good! We ordered the Sid and Seymour along with the scrumptious deli dip and those pickles.. it was such a pleasant meal! I also appreciate the owner who is very customer friendly and puts his all into making this a go-to establishment for so many!

    Corned Beef Sandwich

Haven't been to Pickles & Rye for years. Val's Deli our usual deli and sometimes get dragged to the overpriced and undersized sandwiches and salads at Stage. Dinner this evening exceeded what I remembered. My corned beef sandwich had literally twice the beef compared to Stage and was very good. Also had mushroom barley soup which was not as thick as Stage, Val's or other delis but still good. My wife had a Cobb salad which was very large and also very good. A table next to us I saw a deli salad delivered which literally had 3x more corned beef and Turkey as a Stage salad for less money. Val's and Pickles and Rye are both good options if you are looking for a good/legit deli sandwich or salad .

I placed a to-go order from Pickles & Rye, showed up right on time like a proud punctual customer, and... crickets. Not one greeting, nod, or even a half-hearted "We'll be right with you." I stood there so long I started to wonder if I'd accidentally walked into an employee training video titled How Not to Acknowledge Customers. After about five minutes, a the kind woman behind the counter finally asked for my name, then handed me a bag that I watched her just finish packing. Okay, cool. Fresh, right? Wrong. When I got home, my $8 fries looked like they had fought in the Civil War. Warm, yes -- but weary and clearly past their prime. The $17 sandwich was about 25% smaller than my last one, as if it had gone on a diet without my consent. The corned beef was so fatty I half-expected it to come with a gym membership. I didn't have the energy to go back -- emotional damage had been done. So yeah, this will be my last visit. Pickles & Rye? More like Pickles & Why. Be sure to ask for your receipt. Otherwise, expect nada.

I finally made it on a free morning, just in time for an early lunch. On the day of my visit, it was cold and wet, so outdoor dining was out of the question. Just inside is a large deli counter with items available for take-out. Beyond that was a large and stylish dining room, where diners enjoyed the last of their breakfasts. I was a smidge earlier than everyone else for lunch; the dining room filled up soon afterwards. I loved the huge menu - there were so many options for soups, salads (Maurice, Greek, and Cobb, to name a few), sandwiches (Reuben's, triple deckers, and even vegetarian), burgers and hot dogs, breakfasts (omelettes, waffles, and French toast), and deli classics. I opted for the Victor Special, extra cut, which included larger portions of both corned beef and pastrami, coleslaw, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing. The thinly-sliced meat was indeed piled high at the center. For my side, I had wanted the onion rings, but they were already sold out! Instead, I went with the hash browns; they were crispy with a mashed potato-like interior. In retrospect, I should have tried some of the foods I've enjoyed from my hometown: knishes, blintzes, latkes; I'm now dreaming of meals I've had in my past. Service was fine at first, but my server got busy elsewhere, and her coworkers pitched in.

They have a menu board with multiple options listed. You order at the stand at the back of the store, and then our food was brought out to us even though we had ordered it to go. I am not sure if that is always the process- I was expecting to go to the counter to pick it up myself so that was a nice surprise! We ordered our sandwiches to go even though we were dining in as we knew we would be taking home leftovers. The seating area inside is no frills. They have less than 10 tables inside, and when we were leaving all of them were full with people waiting for seats. They did appear to have 2 tables outside but they were not being used as it was raining. They did have a carafe full of ice water that was self serve by the door, and they had large cups available which I appreciated! My eyes were immediately drawn to the Spicy Chicken Caesar and the Napa Club. Since this was my first time I ordered both and planned to share half of each sandwich. When I opened the Spicy Chicken Caesar I was surprised by the appearance of it. I had expected a lot more lettuce inside. It looked more like chicken salad rather than salad with chicken. The flavor was good and it was not too spicy! The focaccia was very soft. The Napa Club had great flavor to it, but when I was eating it I could really tell that there was avocado inside of it. The predominant flavor was the garlic and herb aioli. I did feel the chicken was a touch on the dry side. Overall, my experience and food were good; however, I am not sure I agree with the rave reviews. I would return in the future and would love to try some of their other meats aside from chicken, and their pasta salad also looked nice. The service was friendly and I feel like the price was fair. It's a nice addition to downtown Farmington!
