Lately, I feel like they have really changed from when they opened. A bunch of sandwiches have now been discontinued, the bread has changed on a few of the sandwiches, and the amount of meat has been cut down in some too. I understand a lot of things change once a restaurant becomes established but for an expensive sandwich, these changes are decreasing the quality. The chicken parm used to be a huge amount of chicken, now it's down to maybe some chicken finger looking chicken that if you're lucky, the cheese is melted. Half the time the cheese isn't anymore and the sauce is cold. The personal touch we used to have when you went in is also gone now. Maybe we will try it again some time down the road, but now when all our favorites have now been changed.

Really good selection of sandwiches. The tomato soup was amazing! I got the Piacenza which was good. I do wish they had put a little more of the aoli and giardiniera on it because it was a bit dry. I found the meat to arugula ratio to be a little off. They put way more arugula in it than what is pictured on their website. The place is nice and clean with plenty of spots to sit. Overall I'd go back again because I do like the unique options they have, but I do wish they gave a little more meat than greens. I've been to the one in Detroit which is where I first tried the prosciutto panino which was so good and memorable.

Such a great spot in Farmington Hills!! My boyfriend and I were in town and were looking for something quick like a sandwich spot. The inside is really cute with a lot of seating. The servers were all very friendly. We came on a random weekday around 2pm, and we were served very quickly. He got a meatball sub and I got the prosciutto panino. I thought it was really delicious. The fig jam was a great touch. I didn't try my boyfriend's, but he said that it was really good and that he'd order it again. Definitely recommend this spot and these sandwiches!!

Now this place is great! We tried it's tonight for the first time and we were impressed! The focaccia bread is clearly homemade, it was fluffy and delicious! The meats and cheeses were unique and fresh! Kind of pricey for sandwiches but I guess that's how things are these days! We will definitely be back

Absolutely incredible sandwiches and friendly staff! I ordered 3 sandwiches to go and they were ready in no time. Next time I wouldn't mind having lunch inside, the space is clean and bright! I had the piacenza - capicola, arugula, provolone, giardiniera, house garlic & herb aioli. Absolutely delicious and very spicy!

Excellent sandwich. Key is their freshness, especially their focaccia bread . It is soft to touch but have a chew to it. Tried their special menu today. Chicken culet, herb aioli, roasted red pepper and lots of arugula. Yum.

    Papa Georgio. Delish!

Lunch with friends was extra special with a visit to la Pechora nera. I really enjoyed my sandwich with a side of the red cabbage slaw. The menu is great, with fresh ingredients and excellent bread. They had brunch/ breakfast items as well with specials, soups and salads to keep things interesting. I was impressed with their dessert options as well, especially freshly filled cannolis. Yum! Great spot!

I'm shocked we haven't been here until today. The restaurant was very clean and the people working were very nice and helpful. We ordered the Italiano and the Prosciutto panini and both were delicious. We will definitely be back!

The Italiano is filled with turkey, ham, salami, capicola, mortadella, and provolone. Most important is the pickles!

It was well past lunchtime, so I was starving when I arrived at this relatively newer location in downtown Farmington. Inside several customers were waiting for their orders, while I reviewed the blackboard menu by the register. So many choices: sandwiches, salads, and a few soups. Space was tight, even after I moved to the dining area to wait for my order. I liked the overall restaurant aesthetics: white subway tiles and black wainscoting, leather sofa lounge seating, black aluminum chairs, and industrial tables. The decor was very much in keeping with the "black sheep" theme. I had the Italiano, a crusty roll loaded with a number of deli slices, shredded lettuce, lots of sour pickle slices, and Italian dressing. Delicious. I was intrigued by the Muffaletta. It is something I always order when I see it on menus. Here, it is made with ham, capicola, salami, and cheese on a grilled ciabatta, not a sesame roll. A giardiniera of pickled vegetables balances out the taste profile of the sandwich. The chocolate chunk cookie was okay - a bit dry for my taste. Incidentally, I heard a lot of orders for chicken parm - I'll have to try that the next time I'm here. Service was friendly but much, much slower than expected. And the tables were not cleared/cleaned regularly. Ample parking is available behind the restaurant.

I have been wanting to try this for a while now!!! Got the prosciutto panino on their foccacia.... I've never had another Sammy like it! The ricotta & fig jam made it so yummy. First time in downtown Farmington as well, such a cute area. Parking was busy for lunch but was able to find a spot eventually. Their house Italian dressing is YUM too!!

The sandwiches here are so insanely good. I've tried a few but my favorites are the spicy muffuletta and the corn beef one they have! The breakfast sandwiches are pretty good too if you can get them during their serving hours! The restaurant itself is very clean and tidy and the staff is always nice!

    Italiano

I've tried a few of their sandwiches but I've got to say they have the best Italiano! Fresh focaccia bread thats still warm is a game changer! The service is pretty quick and the people are friendly! They play nice music in the background that goes with their theme, they keep it clean inside as well. Also they have some of the best cannoli's!

Stopped by La Pecora Nera for lunch today. We ordered #13 MBLT and #10 Chicken Parmesan subs. They were freshly made and delicious. The staff at LPN is very friendly and efficient. We had our food in no time. Next time, we plan to come early and try out their breakfast menu, which looked interesting.

There is no reason a sandwich with two slices of bread, some sandwich meat, bottled Russian dressing, and two slices of cheese would cost anywhere over $8... I have been patronizing this restaurant for over 12 years. I have a feeling that they are taking advantage of their long standing position in this community, a loyal customer base, and customers not understanding pricing of beef.. 6 slices of corn beef is about $3, two slices of rye bread is $0.50, two slices of Swiss cheese is $0.20, a spread of Russian dressing is $0.05.... And they will charge you $20 for a sandwich..... this is awful, disloyal, and advantageous. Don't go here, find another place for lunch that respects hard working people trying to get a decent sandwich. Their food is great, but no intelligent person is paying $20 for a sandwich. It's almost laughable if it wasn't so disrespectful.
