My son and I were at BJ's, and I'm assuming a salesperson advertised to us, telling us about four cases of water for $53 and a dispenser. We took the offer, and the guy never mentioned any extra charges at all. All of a sudden, they are delivering water and charging me $45 then $53. I called and told them I don't want these charges, and support says that it is a rental. They transfer me, and then they tell me that they can only give me $26 back, my initial deposit, but not for all the water I have been charged for. I have had one of the most frustrating customer service experiences with Primo Water. Since their recent merger, the quality of service has plummeted. Beginning in July, my scheduled delivery was rescheduled every single day for over a week. Since I was preparing to travel, I asked them to move the delivery to the following week and was assured it would arrive then--but once again, they missed the date. At that point, I decided to cancel my service and requested pickup of my remaining water bottles and the rented dispenser. That was at the beginning of August. Since then, my pickup has been rescheduled daily with no follow-through. The only attempt made was on September 8th, when I was unavailable. I've called customer service at least 10 times, and each time I was told it would be resolved, yet no one has ever come. To make matters worse, I've now been charged for the dispenser rental, despite my repeated efforts to have it returned for over a month. This experience has been a complete nightmare. Deliveries/pickups are unreliable, customer service is "nice" but ineffective, and canceling your account doesn't even do anything. Since the merger, Primo Water has clearly failed its customers. I called a minimum of 5 to 6 times over two months, sometimes being told I had to wait two weeks for the next possible pickup after a promised pickup passed. Finally they said the issue would be escalated to a regional manager and I would receive a call from them within 48 hrs. I asked for their contact info in case I never received a call and was told that they could not share that info. I am in the Phoenix area. I don't know that this issue is happening in other places. After Primo purchased Sparkletts, it has been an issue getting Sparkletts. The service is excellent but I asked for Sparkletts Spring Water. Twice now they have changed my recurring order to Arrowhead. I do not like Arrowhead. I have never liked Arrowhead. I will not drink Arrowhead. It is worse to my taste than tap water, and I can't make myself drink tap water. I just talked to them and they said they can't get Sparkletts for me. They have Arrowhead Spring Water (Or a different brand that is 3x or something the price) or I can get Primo Purified. I am one of those who has the weird genetics that makes some water taste bad. I am going to be putting a little juice in my water to make it palatable but Arrowhead just won't work. I wanted to post this so that new customers are aware of the Sparkletts supply problem. Their dispenser (hot & cold) is epic. I love it. The newer one (we had a really old one and just got it replaced) is quieter. The hot on demand is perfect for tea or instant mocha/hot chocolate. The cold is perfectly cold. Customer service has always been excellent. So the dispenser & the service is why they get 3 stars, because changing my water to something I won't drink wasn't cool. I have been waiting for our water delivery for a few months. After calling and calling they finally got things "right", so I thought, they got it all wrong. They have been reinstating my account for a month and still wanted me to wait another 24 hours and then tell me "oh it takes longer than 24 hours. It takes 2 weeks". Like really? They overcharged my credit card, added charges for products I never ordered, and then their driver tacked on a $14.99 "delivery fee" for cups that were never requested. The kicker? He was already at my door delivering water, so it was nothing but a money grab. To make matters worse, they refuse to provide invoices, which means I can't even process reimbursement through my company. There was an issue logging in to the new app and eventually got there to find late fee already charged to my card as autopay even though I did not order water. Could not cancel account online. I called and canceled but I got charged admin fee the following month. I called to get refund and they refunded part of it. I could not remove my credit info from the system to avoid further charges. I called to remove my credit card from autopay but the customer service told my it will be removed automatically 30 days after cancelation and it is already more than 30 days since cancelation and my card still there. We've had ongoing issues with service ever since Primo took over Ready Refresh. You can only use the "transition" as an excuse for so long, they have not improved and service has only gotten worse. Unreliable delivery promises, minimal dates for delivery, poor communication. We reported issues with our dispenser and were told they would replace with our next water delivery. They took the dispenser and didn't replace so now we are sitting with full jugs of water no way to dispense. I reported immediately, received no response, reported again (2days later) no response, finally called direct and was told they will deliver in the next three days (no explanation why wasn't delivered first time). Delivery date came and went and still NO delivery - still have warm jugs of water - and I call again to ask about it and I was told they didn't have in stock so they moved delivery to another 4 days out. At NO PoInT did they communicate these delays. I only learned about them by calling direct - completely unacceptable and not customer first company. They were either short or forgot to deliver. And we decided to cancel the service, they create so many tricks to try to delay you in cancelling the service. Once you confirmed and ask for the deposit, they said they cannot provide the information. I have a balance of $44, and 12 empty bottles at home. I would like to wait for their reply as not being overpaid. But not only they did not reply or adjust, they add $20 late fee to my account. I contacted them and argue about that, they decided to waive my $20, but insisted no deposit will be returned. A month later, they send a bill, asking for the late $20 again! They are scammed, this water delivery service should be blacklisted. So many people already suffered from their poor service!! read more

I explained we have had this unit over 8 years and have never paid more than $50. He explained it is the rental. Despite confirming the change with the representative, my water was still delivered to my old address--and now I'm being billed for it. To make matters worse, there's no way to contact the delivery driver directly. I assumed the driver would have been informed of the address change, but that clearly didn't happen. They cancelled 3 deliveries without notifying me. My latest delivery has been rescheduled and delayed by Primo at least 7 times. Their new portal deleted my login as an additional user for my company. Their customer service team is useless as they are a foreign call center. Though they are polite, they only make false promises and apologies. I have even spoken to supervisors who are no better. 5 customer service calls and hours on hold resulted in nothing but more delays. The president of the company sent a general apology letter which was a sad excuse. They blame the merger and portal. It's been weeks. They are too big to actually care. TRULY AWFUL! TOO BIG TO CARE. We were long-time happy customers of Alhambra Water, which we signed up for through Costco. That all changed when Primo Water took over -- and everything went downhill fast. First, they delivered 10 five-gallon bottles instead of the 3 we ordered, simply because we had 10 empty bottles they failed to pick up from previous deliveries. Their logic? If empties are outside, you must want full ones -- regardless of what you actually ordered. Trying to resolve the issue was worse. It took over an hour just to speak to an agent -- completely unmanageable for anyone with a full-time job. The next month, even after leaving only 3 empties out, they delivered 10 bottles again. That's when I discovered Primo unilaterally changed our recurring order to 10 bottles per month without our consent. Unbelievable. After another hour-long phone call, they finally agreed to fix future deliveries -- but refused to correct the incorrect orders or pick up the extra water. To make things worse, they have a policy that doesn't allow skipping more than three months of service, even if you have more water than you can possibly use. When we finally decided to cancel the service, it took yet another painful hour on hold. They promised to pick up the empty bottles and water dispenser the following week. Instead, I got another automated text message confirming yet another water delivery. Seriously? This company is disorganized, unresponsive, and operates like a scam. I really hope people read through these reviews before signing up. Primo Brands has gone downhill fast. You can't turn off auto-pay, you can't choose or modify your delivery dates, and you have no control over your account. Their website is a maze of dead ends designed to frustrate you until you give up. My deliveries have been rescheduled to the "next day" every day this week, only for nothing to show up. This has been happening for months. When they do show up, it's often at 6am with no warning. There's no way to skip a delivery or adjust the quantity online. I've got months of empty bottles stacked up because I never know if or when they're coming. They keep charging a \$14 monthly fee even when no delivery happens. Prices have gone up while the service has gotten worse. Customer service is basically non-existent. The chat on their site doesn't work, emails go unanswered, and if you call, expect to sit on hold for at least 20 minutes--if you even get through. Half the time you get disconnected. I called for them to come pick it up and they told me they couldn't pick it up once it was delivered and refused to credit my account. We were Alhambra customers through Costco for 15+ years, and we never had a single complaint about their products and service. Then the takeover by another water conglomeration with multiple names (Primo now) drove the service immediately into the ground. Billing, deliveries, customer service, etc. are the complete opposite from when it was Alhambra. The one time we did catch the delivery employee (deliveries do not happen on a regular or reliable schedule) he was very nice and professional so can't blame him for his employer's horrible business practices. We have spent the equivalent of several hours on the phone, online chatting, and writing letters trying to sever ties with this company. Billing and invoices are impossible to understand with dates and charges and credits that make no sense. We were charged a late fee for the month they were starting to transition over from Alhambra. This was a late fee for which we never received an invoice or statement. They did remove that when I informed them of the situation. We canceled our account in July 2025 via telephone. We were told the last empty bottles would be collected on July 21 and we would receive our bottle deposit refund (which was initially paid to Alhambra many years ago) within two weeks. The driver did show up to collect the 9 empties, but he also mistakenly left 9 full bottles that we did not want and did not order. Since the account was already closed we were told they couldn't figure out how to schedule a pickup of those full bottles. So, it's been almost two months that 9 full bottles have been sitting in the heat and littering our driveway. After more phone calls and a registered letter to the main office in Florida, the bottles still sit in front of our house waiting for someone who apparently is never going to show up. We have also not received our bottle deposit refund. Our account online shows a negative balance, but not the amount we initially paid Alhambra. Out account is closed so how does a negative balance work for us? We sent a registered letter to the main office 2 weeks ago informing them if they didn't remove the bottles from our property and issue us a check for the refund that we would be filing complaints. Someone signed for that letter over a week ago so we know it was delivered. We have heard nothing from them. As promised in the letter we will now be filing complaints with the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Costco, the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). If we don't hear from Primo we will have to pursue other avenues to get our refund and we will give or throw away their bottles. For anyone else feeling as frustrated as we are please consider filing complaints with the agencies listed above, substituting your own state agencies if you are not in California. read more
