The staff here is always friendly, the service is quick, and the well-constructed sandwich can be supplemented with good sides (marinated mozzarella, potato salad, etc). Like Jersey Mike's, Primo's is everywhere. Unfortunately for both, NJ has tons of great local sandwich shops, some of which are famous and have had presidents visit (like Tastee and White House Subs, or Hershey's). Primo is like your average NJ sub shops, only constrained by fixed menus, required choices and sizes, and far more expensive and not as good as the locals. But always better than Subway... For a New Jersey resident, eating at Primo or Jersey Mike's for subs would be like a NJ Italian eating at Domino's, Papa John's, pizza hut or Uno. While the meats were cut very thin and the bread was delicious...I did not think there was enough lettuce & tomato. One of the greatest meals of the trip. We got a classic Italian. Let me say, I've never been a huge fan of the Italian sub. I told hubby to get his own and I'd just take a bite or two to sample. Oh my, the regret was real. Hubby regretted listening to me for once, cause I ended up eating half his sandwich. Quality, fresh ingredients, great flavor. Hours later and the bread was not soggy! Food is decent, but not worth the price. You can get the same hogie from subway for much less. Had meatball sandwich with provolone cheese. Cheese was cut from a block, meatballs were warm and bread was cold. Took 15 minutes to get a grinder and they weren't that busy. read more

Not exactly like the Primos back home in Pennsylvania. Nice staff here BUT lacking something in the hoagie department. We always order the same thing back home , so we did the same here. 3 Primo Italian Diablo & 1 regular Italian. Down here the rolls are just not as fresh meaning they are harder & the Lettuce, Tomatoes & Onion are barely on the sandwich period. The meat and flavors are there, but skimping on the toppings & not using the freshest rolls is truly missing the mark. The only other explanation I can guess is they are baking the rolls too long that makes them extra crusty... Either way, it just isn't the same overall quality as we are used to back in PA. I'm really not sure how else to put it. You spend close to $50 on Summer vacation and it's just not the same. Ironically, Wawa down here is exactly like we get back home. We are a family of 3 hungry teenagers & myself. When they complain about quality, I listen. This visit was Sunday afternoon 7/29/2018. Unfortunately, PrimoHoagies down here will be put on the back of the list as there are so many choices to eat down here. It is a shame. I emailed the owner & couldn't even get a reply! This is the same crap that they pulled 2 years ago when we tried Wildwood PrimoHoagies. The photo is from my local Harleysville Pennsylvania Primos. The response from the owner of the Wildwood Primos is ridiculous. They know what they are serving and it is not up to par. I emailed the owner and he blamed me for not complaining the same day. It was shortly before closing and by the time we got back to our place their place was closed. However, I was disappointed today in my sandwich as it appeared the primo size had gotten even smaller than usual. Best in class.....whether you call 'em hoagies, wedges or subs. Get the "Primo" size in order to taste the home-baked sesame roll. So good. Very rude staff! First we ordered on the phone. The girl who was taking the order was definitely in a bad mood. She seemed aggravated we were ordering several sandwiches. When we got there we needed to separate the order. I was paying for two sandwiches and my friend was paying for the other two sandwiches. I asked her if she could separate them she had no response. She let out a deep breath looked over at a coworker of hers who came walking over and started to fix the register to separate the order. Neither one of the employees said OK we will separate it or I can do that. Just no one even talked. All they said was the amount the sandwiches and took the money close the drawer and walked away. I never heard a thank you. I never heard have a good day. I never even heard hello when we walked in. It was extremely uncomfortable. As I walked out since we were going back to the beach I was taking some napkins because they didn't give me any in the bag. I was pulling them out of the napkin holder they were standing there staring at me like I was stealing from the place. After paying $20 for two small sandwiches I really think I deserve napkins and not a rude service. I definitely won't be going back.
