After an award ceremony, my family and I decided to tryout this restaurant. It was truly amazing the food was excellent including the service. We arrived at opening time, 4 pm, and was seated and served promptly for a group of 6. The Carna Asada, was perfectly cooked to perfection as requested. Medium rare and juicy. We stopped into Primo's for the first time, and were not disappointed. I ordered the El Señor burrito with shrimp, and my partner ordered the shrimp tacos. Generous portions! The burrito is easily enough food for two. The food is a cut above, with healthier ingredients, i.e. spinach tortilla instead of flour, black beans instead of pinto, etc. They have a nice tequila bar, and make a very good house margarita - tasty and well balanced, not too sweet. I came into this beautiful Mexican restaurant by sheer accident. I was driving around and my moon was so honey we stopped to eat. We ordered the Street Tacos and they were tasty. The chips and bean dip were so good that I could have eaten that alone and would have been satisfied. Did I mention hand made tortillas? The service was adequate and the ambiance was warm and quiet. This was my 2nd time coming to Primos. We live in the next city but love making the drive to Primos whenever we can. Both times that I came, the workers were extremely nice and so helpful. They assisted me in choosing the best drink to accompany my food choices. Sadly, they were out of one of the drinks I wanted but the choice the server suggested was good still. I order the burrito and it was spectacular. Very delicious and is more than enough to fill me out. The burrito is huge! I also got some tres leche to go and it was splendid. Solid recommendation from a friend! On a day trip from the east bay and wanted some Mexican food on our way home. Definitely worth a stop. The whole shopping center actually looked like it has good choices but we were there at 630 on a Sunday so most places were closed. We shared the elite bowl and I got the shrimp from the appetizer menu because I didn't want rice or beans with dinner. My BF got the stuffed pepper with beef and a cream sauce that had really good flavor. The beans were tasty too. When you're seated you get chips and salsa and a little refried black bean dish. The little touches like fresh chopped jalapeños on the guacamole... and the fresh fish in the ceviche really made it special. I had chicken enchiladas with red sauce... my friend had fish tacos. Also ordered a Cadillac margarita which was a bit strong but very good. Tried the michelada which was ok. The drinks were good. They had a great variety. As a meal we ordered the following: Nachos w/ tinga- 4/5 Enchiladas w/ tinga- 4/5 Tacos de pastor- 3/5 flavor was good but meat was not as flavorful as I was oily have expected. But overall had all the components that make up pastor tacos. Molcajete- 3/5 Lacked a bit in flavor but other than that it was good Bacon wrapped burrito- 4/5 Great flavor, needs a bit more seasoning Overall, had a great experience here and would recommend it. After reading the reviews, I had high hopes for this place. We walked in and they weren't too busy, which it was a Monday evening so that made sense. They brought chips and green salsa, with refried black beans, out right away and took our drink order. The green salsa was a little odd as it was a bit too smooth, but the bean dip was very yummy. We ordered the tacos mixtos and the special "Primo's trio". I can't say enough great things about their meats! It is so rare to go to a Mexican food restaurant and have all of the meat be equally tender and flavorful without being overly salted! The server was nice and efficient, didn't hover unnecessarily, but also came around just when needed each time. There was music playing over the speakers, but it wasn't too loud. Came here on a Tuesday night for dinner with my in laws. We found this place on yelp and have been wanting to try it since it opened. The interior was nicely decorated, nice music; and a nice bar. There was a good amount of people already seated but we did not have a wait and were seated right away. The number one thing I noticed right away was the excellent customer service from all the employees. Every one had a smile on their face and they were all very helpful. Our waitress was Monica, who was also the bartender. She was great and very outgoing, she catered to our needs and made sure our dining experience was excellent. The manager also stopped by and had a nice conversation with our table. The temperature was a bit hot and he catered to us by turning the AC up, which was a nice gesture. Food: For starters they give you a basket of chips, salsa, and black bean dip. My mother in law and I had the albondigas( meat ball soup) and it was delicious, I am very picky about my meat balls but this soup was excellent. My father in law had the chicken fajitas, which came in a healthy portion and the flavor was out of this world. My husband had The primo bowl, with al pastor and grilled veggies. He loved it. Drinks I ordered a michelada. I had to specify what I wanted in it, so if your picky about yours make sure to tell the bartender as they use a Bloody Mary mix instead of Clamato as the base. My mother in law ordered a classic margarita and she said it was ok, she would order the blackberry margarita next time. And my husband had a beer which they have a good selection of bottled and beers on tap. The only negative I would say is the rice and black beans. The rice is good but it's not your typical Spanish rice found at most taquerias or Mexican food resturants. The black beans aren't bad, but it's the only choice of beans they offer. To my surprise this place was an absolute delight! We frequently are in the Ripon area for the sports complex ( which is fantastic by the way) so over a long weekend in town we were told about this place. Initially, we were trying to find a place to watch football but so happy we picked this place. The area is a new development so the building and surrounding businesses are all modern and well kept. The restaurant its self was very clean and spacious. It had a lovely modern design but still had touches of it being a Mexican restaurant. The beans and salsa were great. Very well seasoned and fresh. The menu has a good variety as far as typical mexican dishes. I got the Al Pastor tacos with pineapple and let me tell you they did not skip out on quality. The Pastor meat has a great balance of herbs and spiciness to it. And the slices of pineapple were grilled perfectly! The plates have a clean nice presentation to it that enhance your experience. The beans were black beans mixed with a meat flavor and corona cheese on top, very delicious. Their salsa is very lemon-limey good but I prefer a lil more spicy less citrus. Not sure if they were understaffed but our drinks came after our meal was served. However I enjoyed my cocktail, it was a pomegranate drink on the special menu. I ordered the pastor pina taco plate, came with 3 tacos, rice and beans. The tacos were good, I liked the blue tortillas. The meat and flavor was good, but amount on tortilla was kind of small. I'm used to the pineapple being cut up and mixed in, this was a thin slice grilled on top. It came with black beans and a green rice. Overall I enjoyed the flavors.
