We had a really nice dinner experience at Primo's. Love the space and the sports bar feel. Casual enough but upscale at the same time. Our server was amazing, took great care of us. Now on to the food- starting with the tortilla chips and the salsas, we were impressed at how fresh and warm they were. The elote had sriracha in it and I wasn't a great fan. The fried vegetarian burrito was amazing and the veggie tacos were good as well but could use a bit more flavor. The meat tacos were well-made. The Valencia old-fashioned was excellent. The horchata was good, a bit too sweet for my taste though. Overall, great place to have a nice meal. I'll surely stop by the next time we drive by Ripon.

Primos Restaurant & Tequila Bar - Great Food & Service! I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and my wife and I finally decided to go for dinner. When we arrived (around 5:30 pm), the parking lot was pretty full, but there weren't many people waiting. We were quoted a 30-minute wait, which was no problem, but we were pleasantly surprised to be seated in about 10 minutes. Right away, we were greeted with ice-cold water (without having to ask), along with chips, green salsa (not spicy but great flavor), and black refried beans. We ordered cocktails-- I had a Tequila Old Fashioned, and my wife had a Tequila Mule. Both were very tasty and well-made. For dinner, I ordered the Carnitas Dinner, which came with green rice, whole black beans served in a fried flour tortilla bowl, and a side of pico de gallo. The only thing missing was a side of guacamole, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The food arrived quickly, everything was hot, and the flavors were delicious. The flour tortillas seemed homemade--two large, soft tortillas that complemented the meal perfectly. My wife ordered three Pastor Tacos, which also came with the same rice and beans. She really enjoyed her meal as well. For dessert, we shared the churros, which came with caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. They were served hot and fresh--definitely a great way to end the meal! Plenty of seating, with chairs around the bar. Several TV's showing current sporting events. Overall, the service was great, the food was delicious, and we'll definitely be back!

We had a very delightful experience at Primos. Excellent and delicious food choices. The service was top notch. It is a casual and relax atmosphere. The watermelon margaritas presentation alone is exquisite. It has just the right balance of Tequila and juice with slices of watermelon, too. The food can be easily shared or be prepared to have leftovers.

Wow! Finally found a great date night spot! We came here on a whim because the other Mexican restaurant we wanted to dine at was super busy on a Friday night. There was no wait here but a good amount of people. Service was great. Upon being seated, you are served complimentary house made tortilla chips, salsa and bean dip. We ordered one our favs, molcajete with shrimp. This can easily feed two people. Super good! Their drinks are also great. My husband got a pina colada and a watermelon paloma for me. I would love to try their watermelon margarita when we return.

Very nice atmosphere, customer service was great! Prices were fair and their food was good. I really enjoyed the green salsa and black beans and chips seemed to be fresh and warm. Plenty of parking.

    Cadillac Margarita

First time here, my sister always raves about this restaurant and I see why. The food and service were phenomenal with fair prices. First round of drinks we had were the Cadillac margaritas, made fresh and strong we also started with the queso fundido appetizer it was amazing. After asking a few questions, our server helped me decide on the Jessie's Favorite - it is now my favorite as well. My boyfriend had the fried burrito which was packed with flavor. We finished the evening with a Watermelon Paloma & a regular Paloma - so good! I wish I would have gotten our servers name she was kind, attentive and helpful.

This area in Ripon has some good restaurant options. I was pleasantly surprised by how good Primos was in my most recent visit. The customer service is also top tier and I had a great experience because of how friendly the staff are. The ambiance is also comfortable and spacious. Plenty of parking outside as well. The food is also great. What my table ordered: - Quesadilla Sincronizadas w/ Chicken ($16) - Salmon Primos Specialty Plate ($24) You also get complimentary chips and salsa as well as a type of black bean dip. The chips were actually amazing and tasted very fresh. They were warm and crispy. The green salsa was delicious, but also not very spicy. The bean dip sprinkled with a little bit of cheese got cleaned out very quickly. It was a 10/10. The staff was also very attentive and would ask if my table needed refills for chips which was really nice. I personally got the quesadillas with chicken and boy I definitely cannot finish them in one sitting. The value for the amount of food you get is pretty good. The chicken is really tender and moist and the quesadilla was loaded with cheese. They use some really good tortillas. I was a fan. I tried a bite of the salmon and it was moist and flavorful. I was overall really pleased with my experience at Primos and I would be happy to come again. The service to the quality of the food makes this an easy restaurant to recommend especially considering Ripon doesn't have a ton of options.

We drive from Oakdale to come here! So good! Love the bean dip. My go to is "Jessie's Favorite" -- you'll want to drink the green poblano garlicky sauce! My husband always gets the super burrito. Come here & enjoy! Great staff & super clean restaurant.

One of the best Mexican Restaurant/Tequila Bars in the Central Valley. Have NEVER been disappointed with their food or service. Great place to eat. If you like Tequila, order the Tequila flight board so you can sample some smooth to smoky & smooth Tequila. Not into a straight shot, NO PROBLEM! Try one of their signature margaritas! They are DELISH! They also have a full bar so pick your poison! Oh, wait? You just wanted food! They've got you covered! Chefs kiss delish! Oh! And orders to go if you want to dine at home. Service is great, atmosphere is wonderful! They also have banquet rooms you can book for large parties! So what are you waiting for! Bring your bestie and share a pitcher of good speciality margarita spirits and a good authentic meal.

Went here yesterday for my Sisters bday. Upon walking in I noticed there was a lot of seating. They have an outside area too. There's also a bar area and multiple tvs. They start you off with chips and salsa. They give you a bean too. The salsa was pretty good. It was a green salsa and wasn't spicy at all. The been dip was good. Eventually Tomas came over and took our order. He was a really good server. He was on top of everything. I ended up getting the Pastor Con Pina. It was three tacos with pastor, grilled pineapple and onions and cilantro. Came with rice and black beans. Very delicious. Pastor was nice and seasoned. The onions and pineapple gave it that extra touch. The rice was good but I didn't really care for the beans. It came with a red salsa but I preferred the green one. Very good meal. If ever out this way again I'd go back.

An oasis when journeying through the Central Valley! Ripon should be so lucky to have such a great dining establishment. 1. Chips and salsa with the refried black beans is off the hook. Delicious, crispy and those beans...wow! 2. I had two delicious cocktails, both crafted for me off-menu by the bartender/server. She's very talented and super nice! 3. My lunch comprised three al pastor tacos on handmade tortillas with all the fixins'. Juicy, mouthwatering and delicious and I had leftovers! I was extremely pleased with my experience at Primos and I'd go out of my way off CA-99 to return to this gem in Ripon.

The staff was pleasant and welcoming from the start. They immediately brought out a mix of corn and flour tortilla chips along with medium red salsa and refried beans. Everything tasted great. I especially love flour tortilla chips, so that was a nice touch. I ordered the Steak à la Mexicana for $18.75, which was not part of the lunch menu. The carne asada was tender and cooked with green peppers and onions in a very flavorful sauce that had just the right amount of spice. It was supposed to be served with rice, beans, and tortillas, but I didn't receive the rice or tortillas. The refried beans were topped with cheese and had a good flavor. The food came out piping hot, including the plate, which was very hot to the touch. The portion was also plenty big enough that I had leftovers for dinner. Service was very attentive. The staff checked on me several times, offered more chips, and kept my water refilled. There is plenty of seating inside, a couple of TVs near the bar, bar seating, and a good selection of tequilas. They also have several different Mexican bottled sodas to choose from. Overall, a great lunch with good food and friendly, attentive service. I enjoyed the flour chips so much that I ended up taking an order of flour chips and salsa home with me.

Friendly waitresses! Our food was on the table within five minutes or our order being placed and we dined on a Friday evening when all tables and the bar was full. I got wet chicken burrito half red and half green sauce with sour cream on the side. The green sauce was significantly better in my opinion. Green sauce was an easy four stars red was a two stars for me. Green has more spice to it! My date got the La Compuesta salad, he loved his. He ate the whole thing which I could not have done. I took half my burrito home. The beans they serve with chips are delicious as you see in others reviews too. The salsa however left a lot to be desired. Price, food portion and service are with highlighting!

If you don't care, I don't care. I'm not eating here anymore. I'd rather make a bologna sandwich at home. Having eaten at Las Casuelas at least a dozen times, I've gotten the full experience. At best, the food here ever so slightly resembles something truly Mexican. The flavors are muted. The mole, for example, tastes like it was made out of box. It lacks complexity. The beans seem to just sit on hold and have the quality of leftovers. This place is more like Chevys than a real Mexican restaurant. If you want to drink beer, eat salsa, chips, and guacamole then this is the place for you. The service is friendly but that doesn't mean the service can be considered good. Frankly, I don't care if they throw the food at me as long as it tastes good! Just because you serve it with a smile doesn't make it taste any better. The focus seems to be on expediting the food out of the kitchen window instead of considering, "Would I serve this to my mother?" The restaurant doesn't appear to have consistent recipes nor the cooks who are trained and willing to live up to any standard. There is no attention to detail. For the most part, ingredients seem to be thrown together in a sloppy and haphazard way. I've always had to remind the servers to make sure my food comes out hot, please don't overcook the food, can you be sure to bring us some salsa??? This final time, I asked for Chicken Milanese which is essentially a pounded out piece of chicken breast. It's fried chicken. I asked them to please refrain from overcooking it. What arrived was a very, very thin peace a chicken that had been fried to a crisp. It was more of a cracker than poultry at that point. All of the juices and fat had been cooked right out of the chicken breast. Tasteless. If the same chicken had not been pounded down to the thickness of a fingernail, then it would have been harder to murder it in the deep fryer. I let the waiter know and he didn't care. My friend asked for soup without vegetables. Guess what? I spent my dinner watching him conduct soup-surgery, removing the vegetables like he was playing that game, Operation, and dripping broth all over the table in the process. People usually go to restaurants to have the cooks prepare the food for them and, unless you're at a Korean BBQ, most costumers expect the food to arrive at the table, "ready-to-eat". Alright, this is the nail in the coffin. They served me a tomato with the tomato pit in it. Do I need to prep the tomatoes now too? All of you can do better, you just don't.

Bebidas(Drinks): Negra Modelo on tap is like winning the lottery, well close anyway. Bohemia IS like winning the lottery! Any Mexican joint that serves Bohemia is already ahead in the game as far as I am concerned. Sadly, many do not so Negra is more common. But I win on this day :) Comida(Food): Chips, Salsa, Frijoles(Beans): Chips are hot, fresh and crispy. Thin style similar to Chevy's. Salsa had great flavor but needed more heat for my dad and me. Understandable considering the demographic of Ripon however. Holy Frijoles! Beans are critical to any self respecting Mexican establishment. Unfortunately, Lard is a bit of a pariah in this day (of yoga) and age (of No GMOs). Mexican cuisine is NOT diet/health food by nature so you're kidding yourself if you think a few grams of lard is gonna be the straw that broke your burro's back. Relax, that's what Diet Coke is for right? Lay off the chips or save up your daily points/calories and treat yourself. We only go around once after all. Besides, you can't get any better on the flavor/texture scale than lard. If the beans are runny, that's oil. If the beans are like wet cement, that's just gross. Most places don't do it right, Ede's does. Tacos, Tacos, y Mas Tacos: Between my Dad, Me and My Mom's To-Go Order, I think we got em all. I ordered the small Taco Truck Tacos and Dad got the Regulars (American size). Regulars have extra ingredients like lettuce and onions. And of course, they are larger. I got those sweet little numbers you get off a legit Mexicano Truck. No Fuss, No Muss. As they had Lengua, Pastor, and Chorizo, I felt it necessary to do my part for mankind and get all three. They also had the more common Asado (Beef), Pollo (Chicken), and Carnitas (Pork) Lengua: Perfect flavor and Tenderness simply dressed on a fine corn tortilla. Flavors complemented each other while keeping the Lengua in the spotlight. Pastor: Pastor, for those who don't know, is marinated pork that is vertically spit-roasted like shawarma or gyro meat. Not sure if this particular piggy was cooked in such a manner, but it was tasty nonetheless. Again, simply dressed on the same little corn tortilla. Chorizo: Mexican Chorizo is a childhood favorite of mine and in this case, and really hit the spot.. Pan Fried to a point where it was crispy but moist. Chorizo quickly turns to carbon if you orvercook it and you are left with a pile of acrid tasting charcoal. Not good. Ede's simple yet well balanced Chorizo Taco is dressed like the previous two on the same corn tortilla and fired on all cylinders. Dad ordered Lengua Tostada and a couple Tacos like mine. The tostada looked like a tostada and my Dad looked like a happy man. We asked our server, Yavida (sorry if I got that wrong), who was very gracious and friendly. I would not hesitate to go back to Ede's even though there are two more Mexican joints yards away.

Shortly after being seated, our server brought out complimentary chips and salsa. The chips tasted fresh, and the salsa had great flavor. The tacos were enjoyable overall, but unfortunately the taquitos fell short. They had a good crunch, but were pretty bland on their own and needed salsa to add flavor. This probably wouldn't become one of my regular spots, but I'd come back occasionally to try other menu items.
