Las Casuelas is a solid choice if you're in the Ripon area. The restaurant has booth style seating throughout the middle area. There are two semi-private areas near the front that can accommodate fairly large groups. There is a full bar towards the back with table top seating. There are two bathrooms that are single person only. One thing I enjoy snacking on is their complimentary chips, salsa and bean dip. The salsa and bean dip complement each other well. I haven't tried a lot of the options on the menu, but my go to selection are their taco truck tacos with carne asada. The tacos are just the right size. They are served with a salsa that tastes great and a couple of limes to top it off. Although I have not tried them, they are supposed to be known for good Micheladas. They also offer $4 margaritas on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 3pm with the purchase of an entree. Every time I have visited, I have received good service from the wait staff. You can't go wrong visiting Las Casuelas.

Flat chicken taco salad... missing everything but the lettuce.

Order a taco salad with chicken and ended up receiving a giant flat tostada style shell, with a ton of lettuce! I asked for everything on it. Came with no sour cream or guacamole. Seriously disappointed!!!

I have eaten here many times and always happy. The staff is friendly and I've never eaten anything i didnt like here. Today I just ordered a four taco plate with pork, al pastor. It was very tasty and I would order them again.

First and last time here. I've tasted better Mexican Food. Actually right across the street Taqueria Ripon got way better food than Las Casuelas. The only difference is, Las Casuelas have waitresses that seat and take your order, Taqueria Ripon, you go to the counter and order your food and they will serve it to you on your table. 1 STAR.

The inside is very classy chic with a Mexican twist . I went during the week so it was happy hour . Their happy hour is pretty sweet ! It's from Monday - Friday 4-6 pm, Dine-In Only . They offered $10 drinks and also $10 appetizers. I ended up getting their tacos de papa from their happy hour, which is two tacos, but they are very fulfilling. They're very delicious and I did not see them in the regular menu so if you go during happy hour, it's definitely a must try. I also ordered Jesse's favorite, which is a Chile that looks like a chille relleno, but it's not instead of the egg it has a cream sauce on top and inside it has ground beef . My dad ordered the fajitas which they came with a side of cilantro rice and beans and also all the fixings like guacamole and stuff. Let me tell you the fajitas meal was huge. You could definitely share it with somebody else. I have to say their portions are very generous. For drinks they have beers margaritas my mother had a Chavela, which is beer with lime. I'm not a big tequila fan, but they do have a full bar so I just changed the dirty linen drink for Gin instead of tequila and it was very delicious . The service everyone was really nice and attentive. Overall, we had a great dinner my family and I we had a lot of food and a lot of good laughs. I would definitely come back. I have to say I love their tacos de Papa and for them being on happy hour it's a win-win.

My wife decided to give this place a try, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely…read moredisappointing from the moment she placed her order. She was trying to order flautas, but there was a language barrier between her and the employee taking her order. My wife noticed that the employee was entering something completely different and repeatedly tried to clarify that she wanted flautas. The employee kept saying "yea, yea, yea," as if she understood and was handling it. My wife knew the order was being entered incorrectly, but rather than continue arguing or create a bigger situation, she decided to let it go and move forward. When the food arrived, it was not what she had ordered. She calmly explained to the employee that she had repeatedly asked for flautas and had even tried to correct the order while it was being entered. Instead of simply acknowledging the mistake and fixing it, the employee began arguing with my wife and insisting that my wife was the one who was wrong. Thankfully, my wife was with a friend who speaks Spanish and was able to translate. Her friend tried to explain what had happened and help resolve the misunderstanding, but the employee continued insisting that my wife was at fault. The situation became so frustrating and flustered for my wife's friend that, while trying to translate and advocate for my wife, she eventually found herself arguing with the employee as well. This was never something my wife or her friend wanted, but the employee's continued denial and unwillingness to simply acknowledge the mistake caused the situation to escalate. Eventually, the employee agreed to remake the order, but the attitude continued. The replacement plate was brought out in a very rude manner and essentially thrown onto the table. What made the situation even worse was that my wife's friend overheard the employee speaking negatively about my wife to the kitchen staff in Spanish. She also overheard the employee saying that my wife should learn how to speak Spanish. At that point, my wife was honestly uncomfortable and even scared to eat the food. When an employee is visibly upset with a customer and is speaking negatively about that customer to the kitchen staff, it creates a level of discomfort and distrust that should never exist when someone is simply trying to enjoy a meal. My wife is one of the kindest and most respectful people you could meet. She was not rude, disrespectful, or demanding. She simply wanted the food she ordered and tried multiple times to correct the mistake. When it became clear that the situation was turning into an argument, she initially chose to let it go because she did not want to create a conflict. We love the culture, we love the cuisine, and we genuinely believe in supporting small businesses. That is why this experience was especially disappointing. As a former resident of this town, I expected much better. Language barriers happen. Mistakes happen. What matters is how you treat someone when those mistakes occur. Unfortunately, the way my wife was treated was completely unacceptable and left a very bad impression. This was, without a doubt, some of the worst customer service we have ever experienced.

Their menu is fairly extensive and includes all the typical dishes you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. I did find the prices to be a bit higher compared to similar spots, but I don't mind paying more when the quality and flavor justify it. They also offer Taco Tuesdays from 3-9 PM, Thursdays from 4-9 PM, and happy hour Monday through Thursday from 4-8 PM. We ordered the carnitas street tacos and chicken rolled taquitos. Shortly after being seated, our server brought out complimentary chips and salsa. The chips tasted fresh, and the salsa had great flavor. The tacos were enjoyable overall, but unfortunately the taquitos fell short. They had a good crunch, but were pretty bland on their own and needed salsa to add flavor. This probably wouldn't become one of my regular spots, but I'd come back occasionally to try other menu items.

I recently hired this restaurant for catering an event with 250 guests and was extremely…read moredisappointed with the service. The caterers arrived nearly two hours late, which significantly disrupted the entire event schedule. They brought only two servers for a large crowd of 250 people and ran out of chips midway through service. When I addressed the delays, they took no responsibility and repeatedly claimed they had been given the wrong address. I provided a copy of the signed contract clearly showing the correct address, but this did not resolve the matter--only more excuses followed. Once their excuses were proven incorrect, they then falsely accused me of being intimidating and raising my voice. Despite paying a substantial amount for the event, I was simply holding them accountable to the contract they had agreed to. The food itself was mediocre. Combined with the poor planning, inadequate staffing, and complete lack of accountability, the experience fell far short of professional catering standards. I will not be returning to this restaurant or using their catering services in the future, and I strongly recommend that others consider alternative options.
