The entire unit is upgraded. I wanted to make sure it was big enough for 4 people without us feeling too cramped and the size was perfect. When I opened the sliding glass doors to the lanai, breathtaking.... absolutely gorgeous. When you walk out to the lanai, the pool is 3-4 steps away, so it felt like your own personal swimming pool and patio. We love that the entire condo units were small. Only 6 condos in the entire unit. It was always quiet. Only 3 were occupied. We usually had the pool to ourselves. We drank coffee, ate lunch and dinner on the lanai. You spend most of your time outside because the ocean view is spectacular, the sunsets are beautiful and you see sea turtles everyday! We saw rainbows on numerous occasions. The two bedrooms are separated far enough for privacy. Both rooms had a nice breeze, especially the master bedroom. I was concerned about not having A/C, but you don't need it at all! The tradewinds were perfect even in the middle of August. The folks that stayed in the unit two doors from us on top had A/C and they said they never turned theirs on. The bathrooms were beautifully decorated and has everything you need. This unit had EVERYTHING. Beach chairs, a cooler, noodles for the pool, beach towels, enough bath towels, paper towels, washing detergent, dishwashing detergent, and more. We didn't need to shop for anything but food. Every day we were loving the view and most of all the condo unit itself. I even emailed the owner mid-stay just to let him know how much we loved his unit. Ron is the best! He always answers emails promptly and is so sweet. Our wedding week couldn't have been any better. I am so glad we chose this unit and I wouldn't chose anywhere else to stay in fear that it wouldn't live up to Ron's unit. I promise, if you book your stay here, you will definitely NOT regret it. You will have beautiful photos, a relaxing stay and so much fun. I never wanted to go out in the evenings because I enjoyed staying out by the pool and watching the moonlight against the ocean. Breathtaking... This is the best unit in Alihi Lani. Steps to the pool, a great view and the closest to the ocean. Paradise can't get any better than this. stayed in building 5 unit i earlier this month (jan 8-13) with 4 other adults- 3 bedroom 2.5 baths…read moreand more than enough room for us to splay out. happy with the stay as it was very comfortable for my whole family- this was all of our first times visiting kauai, i have no regrets. this is a prime spot this time of year and absolutely walkable to a popular plaza and beach (poipu), it is not a very well lit neighborhood! parking situation is strange for some villas. luckily we were able to park in front of our garage but our neighbor perpendicular to us werent supposed to park in front of theirs which in turn made it awkward and difficult for us to park. the view we get around the townhouse is not your average island view. you get pretty much what you would see in the california suburbs (not to mention more construction for more vacation rentals). i plan to visit kauai mid year without my non adventurous family and will stay in the north side of the island this time!

Mom and dad have had a timeshare here for years, dad passed 5 months ago and since Mom had had a reservation since last year, she took me instead. It's been such a special time honoring my dad who absolutely loved sitting on the lanai, drinking his macadamia nut coffee, reading books and going snorkeling. They always get the same room 2314 - third floor up on the very left of the main building. I've attached a video. The most amazing view ever and SO relaxing. For the first 2 1/2 days mom and I just read book after book. We sat on the lanai and just relaxed from the crazy past five months. It was perfect. For the first two dinners here we ate at the food trucks that the resort now has booked in the evenings. One was pizza (Pizza Poundahz) and the other Mexican food (Baja Chalupas). The pizza truck was really, really good and the girl running it was super sweet. The Mexican food was just so so and the guy running it didn't have 1 ounce of personality and definitely not customer friendly (aargh). But I love that the resort has this option so we didn't have to go out, just grabbed our dinner and took it back to our room. Perfect! Beyond all that I would definitely come back here, although I myself don't buy into timeshares. The place is top notch, super clean and well stocked. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to. They supply enough coffee filters for a week, and one days worth of coffee grounds. Thank you! Being an end unit, we not only have open windows in the front and back but on the side as well, which is so nice. There's no air-conditioning here which I really think they should have even if it's one unit per room, but yes, the tradewinds are nice, but it's still Hawaii-humid, and sometimes kind of uncomfortable. Mom said they've updated a few things in the room like the couch and comfy chairs, etc. This unit has two bedrooms, the second being two twin beds. In my opinion, they should have a king size bed in each room so you can bring another couple. Kids always love sleeping together anyway if you bring a family so having two twin beds is a little weird to me. Overall, we've been super happy. This location is amazing having a top-notch snorkel spot right across the road. There are so many great shops and restaurants in Poipu. You need to go nowhere else!

There is a workout room on the rooftop as well as miniature golf and pickleball courts (modified tennis courts). There are bbq's throughout the various buildings. The kitchens have just about anything you'd need for cooking. There are a couple of different swimming pools. The beach is right across the street and the snorkeling is amazing. You can walk to Spouting Horn. You can walk to the shopping centers and restaurants. You can rent bikes. There are various food trucks on the property on different days. There is a farmers market on Friday (if I remember correctly). The fruits and vegetables are so fresh and fairly priced. DO NOT BUY fruit/vegetables from the street vendors. Complete rip-off. They have different activities daily for people that like to keep busy. The price could not be any more affordable. What we pay to stay there for a week is less than 3 nights at the big brand hotels in the area. You can buy in fairly inexpensively if a prior owner wants out or defaults. We have been staying here for a few years now. You need to take the Rum tour that's about 30 minutes away. Good times!

Two years ago I booked a house inland with 5 bedrooms and a pool as we were taking our 2 sons and their families. A week before we were to go the house had damage done to it as a result of a storm. Parrish booked a different house on the ocean with a pool for us at no extra cost!! The kids got to watch the turtles from the house. My husband and I were coming back in 2 weeks and asked Parrish if they could keep some non-perishables in their office until we came back. They said sure and then even had them at the house when we arrived. This last trip the internet wasn't working and I messaged them on Sunday not expecting to hear back until Monday but they got right back to me and said someone would be out that day to check on it and that we didn't need to be there. In the meantime one of the umbrellas on the lanai broke off the stand due to rust. I was going to mention it to whomever came out for the internet but we were gone. When we got back I messaged Parrish and let them know about the umbrella. They sent someone back out on Sunday to take care of it. Again I wasn't expecting to get help on a Sunday. Parrish is great to work with and I would highly recommend them. I've already booked my house for next year.

Parrish -- Do Not Trust Them With Your Special Trip…read more We booked Poipu Sands #521 through The Parrish Collection for our 25th wedding anniversary -- a milestone we'd planned carefully, choosing a building 5 unit specifically for its unobstructed view of Shipwrecks Beach. We are not naive renters: we owned a condo at Poipu Sands for over a decade and know the property well. Parrish still managed to ruin our trip. The problems announced themselves immediately. Every screen in the unit was torn, with gaps large enough to invite insects indoors. The portable AC exhaust ducts were sloppily routed through louvered windows, creating additional entry points. The rattan headboard in the downstairs bedroom was visibly embedded with dust and grime. The window shades were moldy. And the twin beds making up the "king" in the downstairs room were fully made up as individual twins beneath the king bedding -- meaning the next guests would sleep on sheets a stranger had already slept in, separated by a single layer of fabric. Charming. But the detail that stopped us cold: ten roach traps scattered across both floors of the unit. Not one or two tucked discreetly in corners -- ten, throughout the property. Parrish's website had described this unit as clean and well-maintained. Ten roach traps tell a different story. We had been traveling since 6:30 am and had specific reasons for choosing this exact unit, so we attempted to make it work. We shouldn't have. On night three, our son found a 3.5-4 inch cockroach in his bathroom. We immediately texted Parrish -- the contact method they told us to use for concerns -- and waited. And waited. An hour and a half passed with no response. We packed our bags, found rooms at the Marriott, informed Parrish by text that we were leaving, and requested a refund for the two nights we would not be staying. Parrish refused. Parrish had every opportunity to inspect and maintain the property they were charging premium rates to rent. They had every opportunity to disclose that the unit had an active pest problem requiring ten traps. They had every opportunity to respond to a guest text - as they had instructed us to do. They did none of these things. Then, when a cockroach the size of a small rodent drove a family out of the unit on the eve of a 25th anniversary, they declined to return two nights of rent. This is not a property management company that takes care of its properties or its guests. It is one that takes your money, sends you a glossy description, and hopes you don't look too closely at the headboard. We looked. Don't make our mistake. In response to JP: You're still fussing over the request for a refund - complaining about what we told you and when we told you. We should have complained right away about the condition of the property. But that's the catch-22 for the traveler - you want to make it work because you have limited time...until you can't. The crashing waves below you all day and especially all night while it lulls you to sleep. The kitchen has all the necessary tools to make meals which we usually make breakfast and sometimes lunch. The big fans help keep the condo cool(ours didn't have A/C) most of the time. Learning to close doors and windows at appropriate times is key. The two tvs and free wifi are wonderful for families that want to keep in contact with the mainland and friends on social networks. Rent a week here and bring a book or two. Kauai is mellow and just what we wanted.

The condo was huge and furnished with everything you could want for your vacation, including coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. I don't cook on vacations, but do want to be able to make some snacks or toast a muffin for breakfast, as well as brew coffee and have a place for my wine and beer! The kitchen was very well equipped with all the tools you would need to cook a gourmet meal. Fortunately we only needed the coffee maker, blender and toaster! I have never slept in such a comfy bed on vacation. I was almost reluctant to drag myself away on our last day. There was ample closet space and since we had 1.5 bathrooms, I had plenty of room to spread out my stuff in "my" bathroom! There was plenty of parking, gorgeous tropical planting everywhere, and the pool, which we used a couple of times was sparkling and clean. Plenty of umbrellas and lounge chairs too, and also an outdoor shower. The resort also had several gas bbq's around if you wanted to grill. The only negatives is that the place didn't have a/c and it got a little warm in the living room, even with the doors/windows open and the ceiling fans on. And since we were watching a lot of TV (the Giants/A's were on) a larger, HDTV, would've been appreciated.
