Not much open on Sunday downtown Lancaster with covid but this gem has a mixed crowd waiting for food. Browsing the menu it looked delish. The two man crew in the front were outstanding! Pushing orders out, top notch customer service. Answered all of our questions and even came out to ask if we wanted cream with our drinks. Very cute atmosphere! I had the potato quiche and a London dog with pistachio milk. They have several vegan options and oat milk as well. Quiche was the perfect size for a snack with gooey vegan cheese. My friends had the breakfast burrito which they said was good but heavy on the eggs. It's also a normal size burrito, not the baby-size monsters. Would have been nice if they brought out all of our food at the same time instead of having to wait a bit between each, but what can ya do. read more

YUM!! Came to Prince Street Cafe for a quick snack before heading to Philly. Not many places are open on Sundays in Lancaster but this place is definitely a winner. We ordered a Dulce de Leche cold brew, Vanilla steamer, a chocolate chip cookie and a frosted sugar cookie. I forgot to take a picture of the cold brew or the steamer because my husband and son downed it before I could. They both said their drinks were soooo good. Gotta say, the chocolate chip cookie was very good. It wasn't warm but yet chewy and soft. There were a few tables outside the cafe but were occupied. A cute shop in downtown area. Order up front and they will serve you at your first-come-first-serve table. Prices are reasonable, coffee drinks taste great, and food tastes better than it looks. So I'm really glad that I gave them another try. I always avoided Prince Street because I never really liked their food. However, that was years ago and their menu has changed. I absolutely loved my cappuccino and quesadilla that I got for lunch last week. Everyone was so kind and the baked goods were delightful. It's also the perfect café if you need somewhere to work with Wi-Fi. They have plenty of space and big windows for sunshine. It's a must! read more

So... I am a complete bozo. Today, I ordered the vegan southwestern breakfast burrito and when I bit into it, I immediately spit it out because I thought it tasted too 'real' to be vegan. When I called to inform the staff, they offered to refund me my money and make me a new burrito for free. I brought in the accused burrito and they informed me it was actually created correctly. I was blown away by the taste and quality, but also extremely embarrassed. They made me a new one and when I offered to pay again, they refused my money and said they were proud to have created a vegan menu item that was as authentic as this was. Terrible service! We ordered 3 coffee drinks (cold brew, Americana and iced mocha) and 2 acai bowls. Coffee was made quickly, but the iced mocha was nasty. There were chunks of whatever mocha powder was used settled at the bottom. I saw the acai bowls get made, and then placed on another counter, so I figured they weren't ours. When they finally got packed up and given to us, they had melted. I told the barista and her response was "it's a busy day". What a terrible customer service response! I found another woman who kindly said they'd remake it, but by that point my mood towards the establishment was tainted. We were there almost 40 minutes for mediocre food/drinks and disappointing service. read more

As a study/working cafe, this place is probably the best in the area. However, as a coffee shop, Prince Street Cafe doesn't hold it's own to a Starbucks. If you want good espresso or espresso+milk drinks, I'd say go elsewhere and save your money. Pros: - Lots of seating - Good lighting and ambiance - Mediocre # of outlets (they aren't everywhere, but there are a few power strips around) - Great service and variety of options - Great hours, open late Cons: - Anything with espresso, really. I have visited and been disappointed with the drinks on two separate occasions. First, with a dirty chai latte and second with a coconut milk latte. First, the dirty chai had a nice chai taste, not overly sweet, but the espresso was definitely a negative to the drink, rather than a positive. I wished I had just gotten the chai without the espresso, but unfortunately science has not progressed far enough to separate solutions. On my second visit, I tried a coconut milk latte (pictured). As you'll see, their coconut milk definitely isn't the freshest or creamiest, as you can see fat solids floating to the top of the drink. Additionally, the latte had no coconut milk flavor and an extremely sour taste, reminiscent of a burnt americano with some acid added to it. I could barely drink 3 sips before I had to turn it into a Mcdonalds-esque espresso drink with a ton of heavy cream and simple syrup. Really disappointed with my $6 purchase. I'm not too sure if I'd come back here to study, because what would I even order? The coffee isn't worth the money, and I'd like to support the institution that I spend my time at, but I cannot in good faith buy a $6 latte that tastes THAT bad. read more

I've had good experiences with this cafe up until today. When I had walked in to pick up a to go order the staff just stared at me. No greeting or how can I help you. She was very rude. I then asked for a manager because I was left with a overall bad feeling about the encounter I had with her employee. She was no help. I was very respectful the entire time. My husband and I have been here on a few occasions - once after a show at the Fulton Theatre, and most recently prior to a Barnstormers game. The cafe has high top, window seating that allows you to overlook the street. There are several tables and a few booths scattered throughout the rest of the cafe. The setup is not the greatest for when there is a line, as it would extend right out the door if it were more than 3-4 people deep. This time around, there was not a line to wait in. They do offer breakfast and lunch such as egg dishes and sandwiches however we just stopped in for something to hold us over. We ordered a smore's bar and a mango blueberry smoothie. Both were a little more expensive but I find it tends to be worth it at small cafes like this. We did wish the smore's bar was warmed up a little bit to melt the marshmallow and chocolate. The smoothie took quite some time to come out to us but it was large in size, freshly blended with fresh ingredients, and proved to be filling. This $10 "fill in" was enough to get us to our next meal of the day without eating anything else. If I lived in Lancaster, I could see myself spending time reading, researching, or studying in a place like this. Those around us were doing the same. My biggest issue with Prince Street Cafe used to be the service, so for a while I was going to Square One, Mean Cup (on Market days), and Rabbit and Dragonfly when I needed a caffeine fix. But over the past year, the service has gotten MUCH better, so now I can enjoy the food drinks, atmosphere, AND the service. My family has season Fulton passes, so we love the convenience of going across the street for some good food and a comfy place to sit and discuss whatever show we just watched. And it doesn't matter what time of day we drop in - their menu is served all day, so you can enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert, or in-between snacks and drink stops.. whatever your stomach desires. There are plenty of gluten free options for my husband, vegan options for my sister, and dairy-free options for crazy/unfortunate people who don't do milk or cheese - all very clearly marked on the menu. TL;DR;just-gimme-some-recommendations-already: Breakfast: Guacamole Breakfast Sandwich is my favorite, baked oatmeal is my daughter's favorite, and we both agree you need to try the Maui Smoothie. Lunch & Dinner: Baja Turkey Sandwich, Rice bowl, and Capresse Grilled Cheese (kid's favorite, classed up so you can feel like a grown up). Dessert: LEMON BARS. Oh my god, get the lemon bars. Being that I live in NYC, around 2pm, I turned to Yelp to find a local business in Lancaster close to Lititz and I found Prince St Cafe. After speaking with the restaurant, I was given the catering line and the owner quickly offered to speak to me. Keep in mind, tomorrow is Easter Sunday and they were meant to be closed, and here I was calling Saturday for either a same day or next day delivery. The owner could not have been more helpful, offering suggestions on what would go well together and then personally hand-delivering each of the orders of dessert, fruit, vegetable, meat and cheese platters that afternoon. Prince Street Cafe has the best teas I've had in Lancaster. The Sencha tea is definitely my favorite and has a much richer taste than the normal Gunpowder Green you find at Mean Cup or on my college campus. I have never gotten a tea that was too hot and burning my tongue, or too cold and sad. The tea lattes are also always good and the milk is perfectly steamed (again, with perfect temperature) with a small amount of foam. As for food, the Rice bowl is a favorite of mine as well as many of my friend's. The dressing it comes with is perfectly flavorful and adds a nice kick to the ingredients present. I would definitely recommend this from the menu! I have never seen the place empty, but perhaps it is just the times that I've gone. It can get pretty hectic with all the people standing and waiting by the door, and it is a little confusing when trying to order since the group is so mixed. I just wish there was a better place for people to wait if they are taking food to go than right by the door near the register. Likewise, there are rarely free tables available but if you're lucky and have great timing, the seats are nice and comfortable. Service is as fast as they can be with the kind of rushes they get. I did have a staff member who was slightly rude to me but I know that isn't a reflection of the entire establishment.
