I've been here twice now! It's right down the street from Millersville's ware center and I'm just now seeing it. I've heard about this place for a while and I can see why. I love coming here to get work done, they have a good amount of tables and most people are on their laptops or meeting with friends. Great wifi cafe though. Both times, I've ordered from the breakfast menu. The food is average, not bad at all nor super yummy. The Cali wrap was better than the egg sandwich. I have to say I was disappointed in the egg Sandwich because the eggs were so blah. The bacon was barely there and cooked too hard. There was nothing special about the sandwich. Plain bagel, so so eggs, hard bacon. However, I do LOVE the atmosphere here and that's why'll I'll continue to come and experiment with the menu. My London Fog was amazing though! Get it! Perhaps I'll try some of their sweets next time. If all else fails I'll keep getting the Cali wrap (very flavorful- egg white wrap) and the London Fog. I will definitely be here at least once a week as a way to get away from campus/home. I love getting work done in different environments. I feel more productive! read more

If you're looking for a great place to grab breakfast or lunch in Lancaster, I definitely recommend giving this place a try. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown and really close to other attractions like Lancaster Central Market, you'll find a simple, but satisfying menu with things like seasonal scrambled eggs, bagels stuffed with fluffy eggs and cheese, or a breakfast burrito (Eggs, black bean spread, monterey jack, cheddar cheese and house- made salsa in a grilled white tortilla), which is what we ended up getting and the great part is that they're all under $5! I was actually pretty satisfied with my burrito and was full after eating just half, so if you're not too hungry definitely go with another option. I'm also a little particular about my scrambled eggs and like them a little bit stiffer than I got, but I'm sure that could be remedied by request. I loved the way the cafe was decorated, with it offering a variety of seating like stools or corner tables and it is also really modern-looking, like something you'd find in NYC (but way cheaper). It's also fairly large, but I don't think that large groups would work well here. They do take cards, although I'm not sure if there's a minimum, and you order right at the counter and are given a number, so the wait time is fairly short. Tip: Order the strawberry lemonade because they offer free refills, and although it's a little too sweet, it's also a great way to cool down on these hot days we've been having. read more

I got there around 7 in the morning, parked right in front (beauty of getting up early). Very nice set up. Great atmosphere. Service is awesome and staff are very friendly. I ordered medium plain latte and fruit yogurt parfait. Latte was really thick, creamy, and yummy! Fruit parfait was just ok - nothing was special about it. I will try something else next time. To name the good things right away: FREE REFILLS on strawberry lemonade/iced coffee/cold brew, great yet modest menu, OPEN UNTIL 11, lots of seating, lots of natural light, warm rustic decor. Ok now that I've said my favorite things I can go into some detail for those who care enough to 'read deep.' I have been here a few times to get some work/studying done and it really suits my needs. There is a good amount of seating for all types: for those who want to do individual work, for those who want to sit outside, those who want to get lunch/coffee with a few friends, for those who need a quick coffee.... The whole front of the cafe has large windows that span from the ceiling to the floor- GREAT lightning and people watching! The place is also kept really clean. And they have a "trash," "compost," and "recycle," which I appreciate. It's mostly seating in chairs/stools, only 1 small couch and a fabric chair. Also, what kind of cafe is open until 11pm?! THIS ONE! It's great if you have to study/work late at night or have a weird coffee/pastry hankering at 10:04pm after most places close. And people are in the cafe that late, it's still getting business so you wouldn't feel weird if you are there. I adore the strawberry lemonade, such a yummy treat, not too sweet, FREE REFILLS Y'ALL, and a nice change if you aren't in a coffee mood, although I will say the iced coffee is fab. The Peach Jalepeno Flatbread is such a great combo of flavors. It sounds weird- I know. It tastes NOM. Although I don't think I actually tasted the jalepeno which was a little sad, but it was good without it. What I also appreciate is that the menus are kept up really well- and by that I mean, no food splatters, coffee stains, tears, bends on the menus. I have yet to try the pastries but they look bomb diggity wiggity. Staff is young and friendly. Another yelper said hipster, I'd have to agree- not necessarily with all the customers, but it does draw a hipsteresque crowd fa sho. My ONLY qualm and why this place didn't get 5 stars from me. ONLY 1 BATHROOM. I know that when the owners built/purchased or whatever the place, they probably had no idea how busy the place would be. But to have 1 bathroom in a place that offers products (ahem I mean COFFEE) that "ignite" shall we say, the bladder and digestive system is an issue when it's such a hopping place. Great place. This is such a special place to me. I've been going here for years, and even though I don't live in Lancaster anymore, I make every effort to stop by whenever I'm in town. I started going here in 2008 around the time that I graduated high school. My friends and I weren't old enough to go to bars (or "cool" enough to sneak in) so this was our nighttime hangout spot. We all parted and went off to different cities for college that fall; ever since then this has been where we come to reunite, catch up, and reminisce. The cafe underwent a major remodel (last summer, I think?) and the whole look is a lot more polished and mature. It's like the cafe is growing up with us! Okay, maybe that was too much. Anyway--it's great. I usually opt for house coffee and enjoy refilling my mug with different varieties and trying what they have to offer on that particular day. Espresso-based drinks have also been enjoyable here, and I hear their non-coffee beverages (smoothies and tea) are wonderful as well. I've had some of the dessert items and a few lunches here too. It used to be limited to soups, salads, and sandwiches, but with their expanded offerings I think they've added other items to the mix now. Regardless, it's all been fresh and tasty. Everyone who works here is so friendly. Seriously. I've never once encountered a barista or cashier that wasn't smiling, welcoming, and overall pleasant. They all care about what they do and it really shows. That makes a huge difference, and it's a nice departure from the common snobby coffee culture. I just love it. This is my one of my go to spots in Lancaster city. This place always seems to be filled but don't let that fool you. There's plenty of side seating, small tables, high tops. The espressos are great but lately I've been hooked on their hot chocolate w/whip. I had good hot chocolates, this one though is a game changer. There is an island across from the register which has cups for water, sugar, stirs, creams, etc. The water is also another thing to try while stopping here. They run the water though a process of reverse osmosis. Sounds crazy cool; it's taste is indescribable. Sometimes the service might take a little bit. The wait is totally worth it! read more

We are staying in a hotel on Penn Square, and just just had a delicious takeout breakfast from Prince Street Cafe. We shared an order of baked oatmeal and each had a different vegetarian breakfast burrito. There are lots of vegan and vegetarian options! The online ordering software uses the shopping cart approach and lets you customize when applicable, very good for error free ordering . The takeout containers appear to be compostable. This is a great location in Lancaster! Eat deserves nothing but a good, honest review. The outside of the establishment looks plain and simple, but the inside is a very rustic, industrial feel. Exposed brick, and wooden countertops, make it an ideal location for relaxation, and a bite! I recommend this cafe to anyone in the area, the menu is neat, and the treats are really good! Heard a lot of good things about this place, but wasn't particularly impressed when picking up an order. I wasn't greeted by anyone to ask what I needed and watched both servers/baristas stare and walk by me twice before I had to tell them I'm picking up an order. My order was supposed to be ready at 11:00 and I didn't get it until 11:30. I placed the order at 10:30. I've worked in food service, so I understand it can get busy. However, the staff overall seemed rude and unwelcoming. When my food was ready, they left it sitting on the counter for almost 10 minutes while they stared at me and didn't tell me it was mine. As penance for ordering (and enjoying) the 'Dirty Hippie' drink from Aussie & the Fox up the street the day before my family hit up the one place that I was sure would have the smell of patchouli and find a game of hacky-sack going on our front. Following the edict of "When in Rome..." I actually went with the quinoa/pumpkin seed/yogurt breakfast that was so dainty I was sure I'd be hungry by the time I paid the bill but no lie - I was stuffed (and my body needed something healthy after indulging in so many bad-good things while on vacation). Enjoyed this cafe! It was super cold and snowy on the day of my visit so I was happy to find parking right behind the cafe. Decently cheap too. We entered the cafe and it was BUSY. Granted, it was a Friday during lunch time, but still. VERY PACKED. We ordered immediately when we walked in the door. The layout is kinda funny because it doesn't give you much room to review the menu so we kinda felt rushed to pick what we wanted and get out of the way. After ordering, we had to hunt down a spot to sit. Luckily, a woman was getting up and we searched...but numerous others weren't so lucky. There were many people who had set up shop here as if it was there office and didn't look it they were planning to move for awhile. While I'm sure that would be nice if thats what your plans were, but for those just wanting to come and eat - it was annoying. I wish they would make separate areas for each individual thing. The food came out SUPER QUICK. I got the seasonal scramble and my boyfriend got the baja turkey sandwich. Both were super tasty. I would say his was the winner. The guac was delish. Mine was a little on the bland side but I'd still order again. They bring the food out to you after you receive a number when ordering. On my recent visit to Lancaster, I strolled along Prince Street looking for a place to eat when I stumbled upon this gem. I was thinking lunch, but as I glanced up at the menu and in the cooler in front of me, I noticed there weren't a lot of options--mostly beverages, soups, and yogurt. The barista informed me that they serve mostly breakfast items all day. Makes sense for a cafe. So I went back the next morning. Prince Street Cafe is super cute and clean, and the crowd was alive. Almost every table was taken. I saw friends seated together sharing meals and conversation, while other hipsters flying solo were positioned for a nosedive into their laptops. I ended up getting yogurt and a cup of soup, an unusual pair...but I just wasn't very hungry and wanted to sample the menu. I also grabbed a chicken wrap on the way out, which I saved for the ride home. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the environment was comfortable. Sunday morning is a great time to experience the Prince Street Cafe. The mood is unhurried and relaxed, and the space more than adequate to hold all who venture out into downtown Lancaster. I had the coffee, and enjoyed the house blend far more than the Ethiopian. Not a surprise, really. Daughter Kate had the London Fog, and thoroughly enjoyed it. She'll order it again, without a doubt. My Cali Wrap was delicious. Filled with egg whites, avocado, feta, tomato, and red onion, the stuffed wheat wrap is lightly grilled. The feta nicely sets off the veg instead of overpowering it. Well done. Table service is brisk and friendly. On street parking is ample on a Sunday. Saturdays, though, are market days. Plan to pay for parking that day. read more

Great little cafe in the heart of downtown Lancaster. We almost always stop here before going to the central market on Saturdays. The barista makes some really great coffee drinks, and the food selection is good as well. Always have a great selection of pastries and cookies to choose from. The 4" thick cheesecake is so good. The only downside is seating. It's first come first served, and some of the hipsters come in for one cup of coffee, honker down with their MacBook, and stay for the day. So an entire family may come in and want to sit for a meal, and cannot because the seating is all gone. Not really the cafe's fault, but more of a statement of mine against hipsters, their behavior, and my general dislike of them. Otherwise, a great cafe to visit whether you're from the area or just passing through! read more

I am in love with this coffee shop! So many food options (anything from sandwiches, oatmeal, bagels, pastries, and desserts) and consistently good coffee. Their menu is extensive enough that it has variety but not an overwhelming number of options. Prices are typical for coffee shops in the area, maybe a little high for my liking but I will still gladly return. Try their iced coffee (always delicious) and their acai smoothie bowl! What I really love is the ambiance-this cafe is very brightly lit (lots of windows) with tables, booths, and bars to sit at. There are a few tables outside as well. The staff is very sweet and will make conversation with you. I wouldn't recommend coming on a late Sunday morning, however, because it gets very crowded and difficult to find a table without waiting for someone to leave. read more

Perfect study spot in Lancaster. There are several convenient parking structures and street parking nearby for a decent price. You also cannot go wrong with unlimited coffee for $3.85! The matcha latte had just the right amount of matcha without tasting bitter. I recommend giving that a try. There is also a food menu (sandwiches, small sweets, quesadillas, etc). Really disappointed how this place has changed in the past year or so. They used to have 4 different kinds of coffee (all from different countries) and you could try each one each time you went up for a refill of your bottomless mug. Now they have only 2 pots (regular and decaf) and that's it. Last Sunday morning (it's not as crowded as it used to be), they had only decaffeinated out and NO fresh coffee for about 10 minutes. I do wish they were able to fit in more seating because sometimes it's really hard to find a spot and you end up just waiting for someone to leave and hoping your food isn't ready before that. I so desperately want to like Prince Street as much as my husband does, but I just don't get it. Every time I give it another chance, I'm just disappointed. Number 1- their coffee is too hot for their To Go cups... they burn through the bottom and then leak all over you. The first time this happened to me, I figured it was a defective cup. But this has happened to me three times. That's a lot of defective cups. Number 2- I've had lattes that are more foam than coffee, which infuriates me. Number 3 - I've had lattes which had foam so thick and chewy that it was undrinkable, and I had to scrape out the gummy foam just to drink the coffee below.... the amount of which was not worth it (see point Number 2). Number 4 - Don't drink the last inch of your coffee - it will be filled with coffee grounds. I'm sorry Prince Street Cafe, you are beautiful and have a prime location, and i know all the little suburban biddies that drive into the city for shows at the Fulton love you, but you just break my latte-loving heart. read more

First, the staff is super sweet and helpful, although they are currently learning the new computer ordering system and it caused a few minor issues. The place is gorgeous; super hip and edgy with an "industrial chic" design. The food was absolutely top notch. I modified the breakfast burrito, which was among the best I've had: egg whites, cheese, black bean spread, and veggie sausage pieces in a whole wheat tortilla. My son's side of bacon was circular (?), but crisp and full of flavor. Espresso smoothie was big and frozen- yum! PBJ on gold fish shaped bread was devoured by my little boy. Wife had lunch (served all day), with half sandwich - a delicious mozzarella and tomato on thick bread - and a hot cup of soup. Atmosphere: Good. Espressos: Decent. Food: Pretty good. Coffee: horrible -- you may as well go to Waffle House or make some Folgers at home. A few years back, PSC used to serve a coffee called India Monsooned. It was excellent. I also believe at one point, they served Square One -- which is fantastic. I don' t know what they're brewing now, but it's bad. Really bad. So I'd suggest against getting coffee here. Everything else is pretty a-okay.
