Very good brunch. A simple place with delicious food. I didn't take a pic of the blueberry muffin but it was fresh and amazing I could eat that everyday

    French toast...so delicious.

This cafe is truly special. The menu is unique and creative...whether you're looking for something sweet or a healthier option. The French toast was amazing! (Next time I'd order the kid's portion.). This cafe has a great vibe...even the music is perfect. Immaculate, great service, everything 5 stars plus! What a great find on our first visit to Lancaster. (A couple of outdoor tables if you're there on a nice day.). Kudos to the owners (I read their story).

So good! Cute little cafe shop with great food and drinks. The pastries also look amazing. The pricing is average and portion sizes are very reasonable. The cashier was very nice too. You can tell that everything is made fresh and with real ingredients. I would definitely some back and get this again.

Food here is a bit pricy but quality and service is wonderful! I ordered the Market Fresh Sandwich with a few substitutions and the sandwich came out super scrumptious. Still dreaming about those pesto and avocado combo! A quaint little coffee shop with good vibes.

Came in for breakfast and coffee. We had the blueberry muffin which was moist and delicious. Tons of blueberries. It is made in-house as well. We had the shakshuka and Santa Fe burrito (eggs, salsa, refried beans, cheddar cheese. avocado & spinach on a wheat wrap) both were so tasty and filling. It was a great start to our morning before we made our drive home. This is a great spot, and we are looking forward to our next visit.

In Lancaster there seems to be no shortage of cute coffee houses and cafes. Cafe One Eight is one of those that really hits the mark. Cafe One Eight serves a variety of breakfast items. I ordered the oatmeal with fresh blueberries. The oatmeal was delicious but more like dessert for me. The steel cut oats were on the dry side and very sweet. 16 year old ordered a parfait which included the oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit. The tartness of the yogurt went well with the sweet oats. The menu has breakfast sandwiches, but the servers graciously cooked eggs and sausage to order for my husband. There were two choices for plain old American coffee (self service) and they were both good. The decor is pleasant and modern. Nice way to start the morning!

One of my favorite places to eat in downtown Lancaster! The atmosphere is always cozy & inviting. During the warmer months outdoor seating is offered. Food is always fresh, nice sized menu with decent prices. There are always seasonal specials on the board and there are new soups daily. There's a large selection of coffees, lattes, cold brew, teas, etc - as well as different milk alternatives. Local juice's & Kombucha are also offered. Cafe One Eight loses points for me for ordering time. Usually there's only one person running register & drinks. This often leads to long wait times depending on how busy it is. During the busier hours it's not uncommon to wait 10-15 min in line just to put in an order...

Fall menu, love the flight board option. Pickup spot!

I did not try coffee or any pastries so this review is based off just a simple breakfast sandwich and when I do try coffee I'll give it a better proper review! I loved learning about this company when I looked them up online and the inside was super cute! I wanted just a breakfast sandwich so I did the create your own- ciabatta, bacon, egg and cheddar. It was just a plain sandwich, probably not worth $6, but it was tasty enough in its simplicity. Since I wasn't drinking coffee I opted for the closest beverage they had which was apple juice! They did have some seasonal beverages and the pastries looked good, next time I'm in Lancaster I'll have to give them another try!

Disgusting cheese curds on top of defrosted "ciabatta" roll with overcooked (micro'd) egg. UGH !!
    Tom T.

Coffee grinds in coffee,, microwaved old "ciabatta" rolls used for worst egg sandwich I ever had and I spent 2 years in the Army !! A glop of tasteless, inedible cheese toped off this terrible sandwich. Wife's parfait was not good at all and they most likely did not make that fresh either. Owners unprofessional response consisted of slamming a couple of spelling errors instead of being a true leader and find out what went wrong and how they could improve. They most likely stay in business due to their location. Tired of spending $30 for breakfast in these "coffee shops" when their food is micro'd and defrosted breads top their menus. I did give it 2 stars until the person who responded decided spelling errors were more important than finding out what went wrong this morning. !!!! This from a kid who has used spellcheck their whole life !!!!

I am in love with this place! It's my first time here and absolutely enamored. It's right down the street from a Starbucks (which is bigger) but today my daughter and I went to Starbucks and the service at Starbucks was so dreadful that we left because of it. After searching we saw Cafe One Eight and I was very happy that Starbucks made the mistake or I wouldn't have known about this place! It's so much better than Starbucks! Independently owned, amazing staff, cool decor, lots of space, really cool people (patrons), amazing vibe, good prices, good and wide selection of food, and the best ingredient? Amazing coffee! They even sell shirts that were so cool! I tried buying it but they were out of my size. I will absolutely get one when they're back in stock! My daughter and I came from shopping and have been hanging out here for the last hour and we are so happy with this place! It has the greatest vibe. You won't want to leave! Give this place your money, it's badass! (see pictures)

Build your own breakfast sandwich (plain bagel, egg, cheddar, turkey) and a hot amaretto latte

A nice little spot for a cup of coffee or breakfast with a chic ambience. The coffee is decent overall - it is neat that they have all house made syrups for their lattes. The food is pretty good - the cinnamon swirl French toast is delicious and the build your own breakfast sandwich is a nice offering. The service is a bit slower than some of the other cafes downtown, but the staff were friendly and welcoming so it was still a good experience. The location is great, perfect for a nice stroll around downtown Lancaster after stopping by.

The beau and I stopped here for a quick breakfast. The food was good and the coffee was good and the decor was nice and comfortable. I really enjoyed the food which was healthy and well prepared.

Best Cobb salad I've ever had. Add the grilled chicken if you want extra protein. Sandwiches are great. Great options for everyone.

I looked on Yelp and quickly pivoted here and I'm glad I did! The woman behind the counter was very kind and personable to everyone who walked in, there were free cookies that they were testing out that customers could take, and the seating was limited but clean. The big windows give nice views out to the parking lot and the rolling hills beyond. I ordered a "Rancher" which was one of the hot sandwiches. A bit like a cheesesteak but with ranch dressing and bacon. The sandwich was ready in no time at all and tasted great! Could definitely see myself coming back next time I'm in the area.

Definitely a top choice if you come here. The sandwich tasted great. The main problem I have is that I am not a fan of their rolls. The rolls are very doughy and seemed like there was too much roll for the sandwich. The service was quick and fast, the lady at the front register was very kind. Great service is always a plus in my mind for a restaurant. The location was clean, easy parking, and setup nice on the inside with plenty of seating. The price per sandwich is a little bit expensive.

I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw. Very different from any coleslaw I've ever had before. Not saying it wasn't good. Just wasn't my thing. The sandwich was good. My son ordered a huge sandwich (can't remember what it was called) and it has coleslaw and fries inside. I snatched a fry and they were so good! Three people, three sandwiches and under $40. Good deal! Especially when two of those sandwiches could have served other people. They were huge.

We ordered the New Yorker sandwich this time (had the Don last time). It was good but not great. The spicy mustard was unevenly applied so was missing on my half and was badly needed. The Don sandwich last week had meat spread throughout and the fries in the sandwich were crunchy and not limp like today's sandwich. We also had naked BBQ wings that were good, but again, not as good as we had last week. The wings were bigger, meatier and better sauced last time. Apparently didn't take pics last weekend for comparison, but it was noticeably better then so would suspect that cooking is uneven. Last week was a 5, today was just a 3, so I averaged.

Stopped in to Mad Chef unexpectedly while traveling through Lancaster…read more My wife and I were hungry and tired from traveling through Pennsylvania. Thankfully Mad Chef was open later than most places so we got in before the kitchen closed. I enjoyed the low lighting with the brewery equipment shining in the background. Having the Phillies game on the tv's only added to our experience. Our drinks and food were excellent. I always like to enjoy a local craft beer, having it paired on site with fabulous eats is even better. I ordered Mr Dynamite Brown, their American brown ale which was fabulous. We ordered a small Pommes Frites (French fries) that were cooked in Canola oil. While light in color, these fries were cooked to perfection. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, salted just right. My wife ordered the pretzel and said it was her type, buttery, salty, and doughy. I ordered the Korean Pork Nachos, by far the best nachos I've ever had the pleasure to devour. I can't begin to describe how well the roasted corn poblano medley brought this plate together. Every bite had an explosion of flavor with the Korean glaze and Gochujang aioli. This dish blows Guy Fieri's trash can Brisket nachos out of the water. If ever in Lancaster don't pass up on the Mad Chef Craft Brewing gem.

Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process.
