Been coming here for the pizza once in a while for a few years now. I'll just say it flatout: their pizza is incredible. I wholeheartedly believe Prince Umbertos is easily a top 3 pizzeria in nassau county so I come here with an empty stomach and a friend to help me finish off a pie. The pie is made fresh. (im salivating right now thinking about it). The slice has rigidity to it: it doesnt flop over. The cheese is dense yet chewy. The sauce is sweet yet savory. The crust is crunchy and has a nice crispy char to it. It can easily be enjoyed without any toppings. Please do yourself a favor and make a trip over to prince umbertos and try a slice or 3. if you're lucky, it'll be fresh out of the oven for you and you'll see what im talking about. read more

This place is definitely better than other pizza spots around the area. Got their vodka pizza with pepperoni and it was good. A little on the salty side... but good. Pepperoni tasted fresh, crust was crunchy. On my next order I tried the regular pie and rice ball. Both were good. Would recommend a dipping sauce for the rice ball since it was a bit dry. read more

I gave this restaurant 4 stars for the simple reason that whenever I have visited Prince Umberto I've only had their pizza. I have never really been around that area except for in the afternoon. There is a really nice dining room completely separate from the pizzeria. I looked over the menu and the selection is very nice. As far as the pizza goes, probably one of the best I've ever had. There is no other restaurant I've visited that makes a "Grandpa" pizza which is what I usually order. Absolutely delicious!! Big selection of gourmet pizza. I brought my 9 year old who claims to be an "expert" on how a Chicken Parmigiana pizza should taste and she said she would give Prince Umberto a "3 thumbs up". This I found very interesting. Every Wednesday evening, they have a psychic night. For $45.00 you get a complete dinner and a reading. Sorry, I didn't get the psychics name, but I definitely plan on going one of these nights so at that point I will be able to add to my review about their dinners and also about the psychic. All in all, Prince Umberto I think is a great place to try if you're in the area. read more

Food is always a delight, I usually come in fridays and always see the waitress Danielle and Charles the bartender running around and taking care of there customers. Both are a great and manage the restaurant section as a good team, however this Friday i had gone out with another couple for dinner and it had been disturbing to see and hear one of the managers yelling and down grading her employees in front of a dinning room. The manager had short hair and glasses and was very unprofessional around paying customers and complaining about her wait staff inappropriately. I feel as a loyal customer of so long i do not support this local restaurant and will look elsewhere to eat because of her unprofessialism. read more

Prince Umberto's just might be my favorite pizzeria on Long Island. I have tried both their regular and specialty pies and have NEVER been disappointed. The specialty Margherita slice is my personal favorite. Their pepperoni rolls and salads are also good. The staff is super friendly and everytime I go in there I see the same regulars (who have probably been coming in since the place opened!) In high school I used to have lunch here almost every day. My wife and I stopped in for a Sunday late afternoon Lunch/Dinner and were pleasantly surprised at just how good the food was. I had been in the pizzeria part for what I thought was delicious thin crust and well cooked pizza with a very tasty sauce - which is what lured me back. We sat in the dining room (cloth napkins) and were promptly greeted by our waitress Elizabeth. She took our drink order and then explained one or two of the specials. I ordered shrimp marinara over linguini and my wife ordered stuffed shrimp (one of the specials). We ordered an app of baked clams too. The clams were whole (not chopped) and cooked well....a little overstuffed but good. The shrimp was delicious (not overcooked like many restaurants tend to do). The sauce was excellent! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful....we look forward to our next meal there and will keep you posted. read more

The worst delivery experience ever!!! And the food was even that good!!!! The driver knocked on every door except mine. Instruction were very clear to call when arriving to the address. All my neighbors got involved for a simple delivery. When I came to meet the driver he already left the food on the front door of the house without me paying. The manager calls me trying to apologize due to the driver leaving his cell phone. And how the driver will come back to pick up the money. 15 mins later the driver calls and can barely speak a full sentence. He was definitely on something. I called the manager to let them know how they shouldn't have a delivery person in that state, all she said that she understand and that I wasn't the only one that had this experience. The food was decent,the reason why I gave them 2 stars was because they refused to let me use my groupon with take out and forced me to use it in the dine in restaurant where the prices were higher and the menu was much smaller. The most uncomfortable part was the our waitress and what seemed to be the owner (chubby woman with black hair) kept staring at me and my sisters. The pizza is among the best in the area (which is saying A LOT) and the entrees are generally as authentic as you'll get. I've never actually eaten in the dining room bc the main area usually works for a quick few slices. They recently introduced a Rewards Program for patrons who regularly visit. $20 Off upon accumulating 500 points...$500!! They are celiac friendly and have a wonderful assortment of gluten free options, even mozzarella sticks (which were amazing!) they have a separate area for gluten free preparation as well and are very careful/attentive to food allergies. The pizza here is very good and precisely the way I enjoy it. It is not too doughy, the sauce is AMAZING, and the crust is so perfectly crisp! I don't usually order anything other than pizza but I have had multiple kinds including the Grandma's, Eggplant Parm, and BBQ Chicken and they are all good but the regular is really the best. The service is quick and I prefer to take out rather than sit down. They also sell their sauces in jars, which I have never purchased, but always want to because I can only imagine they would be as delicious as what is served to me on my pizza. read more

I was in the area with my daughter and stopped in. We used to live in the area, so I was very familiar with this place but never really went here. We only stopped in because I was making a shopping trip next door. We walked in, and the skinny guy behind the counter was like the walking dead, didn't even crack a smile. We were there at 1130, place opens at 11 and they didn't have a plain slice ready yet, but had every other type of pizza available. So obviously their pizza was there from the night before. The place was dirty, the employees were not friendly. Actually felt uncomfortable and rushed out of there. Oh and I forgot to mention there was a small hair in my buffalo slice. While I was checking out the pizza on offer, two young boys were sitting on the back counter surface next to a stack of pizza boxes and some drinks. They had their dirty sneakers up on the surface. We were purposely looking for good Italian and drove from Queens because of the great reviews but were unfortunately un-amazed. I ordered Whole wheat penne with Meatballs. The meatballs were what saved the plate because if it were solely the pasta and sauce I wouln't have eaten nearly as much as I did. They were very bland. My bf had a shrimp parmasian hero that he said was just 'okay'. The service was great; everyone was very nice and attentive but the food was sub-par at best. Stopped here a couple months back as easy off/easy on Southern...tremendous selection of specialty pies. Never thought I would see myself straying from the old standby sausage, pepperoni etc but chicken parm, buffalo etc are great. Yesterday I asked how the canoli's were in the bakery a few stores down.....one of the guys there yelled buy your freaking canoli's here...they are large and perhaps the best ever.
