I believe at the moment there are 4 docs: Fegley, Kang, Neal, and Smith on board--Josephs left the practice.

After my recent appointment, I would strongly caution any woman considering this practice. Under Dr. Gonzales, my first two pregnancies were handled with outstanding care. He was compassionate, attentive, and made me feel seen and heard. Even with a very difficult first delivery, his team supported me through it, and my second delivery was smooth and complication free. I trusted this practice completely. After his passing and the transition of the practice, everything changed. During my third pregnancy with Dr. Melnick, I felt ongoing pressure toward a C-section based on uncertain size estimates, despite additional testing at my own expense. During labor, I experienced what I can only describe as coercion. I was told, "Do you want your baby to die?" in a highly vulnerable moment. My husband and family were present, and we all felt emotionally blackmailed into agreeing to surgery, even while nursing staff encouraged continuing toward a vaginal delivery. It was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. That C-section was over six years ago, which is widely considered a safe amount of time to attempt a vaginal delivery again, making the continued pressure in my current pregnancy even more concerning. I returned due to location and my preference to deliver at Prince William Hospital. Initially, Grace Artrip and Dr. Lawson were empathetic and supportive of a plan to attempt a vaginal delivery if I went into labor naturally. However, my appointment with Dr. Afram was completely unacceptable. He was dismissive, interrupted constantly, and showed no empathy for my prior trauma. He pushed aggressively for a scheduled C-section and demanded I sign an agreement committing to surgery if I did not go into labor by 39 weeks. When I asked what would happen if I refused, he said he would "fire" me as a patient. The situation escalated to the point where I requested another staff member present. Even then, he continued to interrupt and belittle me. The office manager did her best to de-escalate and support a productive conversation, but he continued his behavior. As he stood in the doorway, he told me he was "not a hairdresser" and "not in customer service," in an intimidating tone. When I said I would leave a review, he responded that he did not care and I could do what I want. I have never felt so disrespected in a medical setting. While some staff members are clearly trying to provide compassionate care, they deserve a more professional and respectful environment as well. After 13 years, it is heartbreaking to say this practice no longer reflects the level of care, compassion, or professionalism it once did. Patients deserve to feel safe, respected, and supported in their medical decisions, and that has not been my experience here.

Dr. Khan is always overbooked so there is always a bit of a wait, which is ok considering she is popular and she is the only provider other than her assistant PA. This visit however, they overbooked so much they forgot to check two patients in (one being me) upon arrival. I signed in like I was told, had a seat, and had been waiting there for over an hour thinking they must really be behind, while other patients were skipping ahead of me because the doctor didn't know I was there since I did not get checked in. During this time, a young pregnant patient had an issue and loudly expressed her anger, caused a scene, and left. From there, the receptionist became very unprofessional and talked bad about that patient to other patients. She mentioned to them that the angry patient would probably be dismissed from the practice and that is what happens when children have babies. Now, I do the same job as what the medical receptionist does where I work, but I would NEVER talk about a patient with other patients, one because of HIPAA... hello a little privacy! And two because it is unprofessional and makes the practice look bad. Now I'm thinking, what do they say about me when I leave the office? 2. Good luck getting through via phone. The phones seem to always be down and you get an answering service stating the office is now closed.... during business hours! 3. They have a sign on the door stating only the patient is allowed in the waiting room which would be awesome considering they only have 6 chairs, but yet they have dads, kids, grandma's, aunts, uncles and whole families in there taking all the space so actual patients have to stand. They need to reinforce that ALL guests wait OUTSIDE of the office until the patient they are with is called back and limit guests to ONE per patient. Seats are for patients ONLY. These are pregnant women and people with issues who need to be able to sit and not stand because a guest is taking up space that the office does not have. I really want to give this place a shot, but so far I'm not very impressed with what I have experienced. I really hope they see these reviews and try to do better in these areas.

I made an 8:00am appointment because I anticipated having to work the same day. I am a new patient so I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork that I expected to have to fill out. Come to find out they open at 8:00. Why would you make an appointment at 8:00 if you didn't expect me to want to be seen at that time?. The lights weren't even all the way on as I awkwardly waited for the receptionist. Once I filled out my paperwork I was seen fairly quickly and the Doctor was actually really great. She was super informative and great bedside manner. Due to her being so helpful I will return in the future for my womanly appointments.

These doctors really take their time with their patients; no matter which doctor you see, they're all in the know (for instance, during both pregnancies I saw each doctor several times - not just one doctor the whole pregnancy). Scheduling is easy, the front desk staff and the nurses are friendly and helpful. I've met several mothers who use this practice and have never heard one single complaint. Sometimes it can get a little busy in the office and they can get a little back logged, but that's to be expected of any doctors office. If you're looking for a good, solid, trustworthy OB/GYN check out Lake Manassas. Trust me!!
