Sad to see there are services near me that take advantage of the elderly. I was trying to get my vehicle with from a dealer in N.C., safety inspected because they could not certify in Md. Had 11,000 miles on it. Environmental Auto failed it. Said it needed wipers and an oil change and wanted over $300.00 to do the service, what?? I declined and took it to the NAPA Store across the street, they said they wouldn't change the wipers as there was no need. Finally got the oil changed today as this was the recommendation on the sticker in the windshield. I took it back to Environmental Auto on the way home to get my sticker and they said nope, it's been 34 days since we did the inspection, we need another $119.00 dollars because it's over 30 days. I don't have another $119.00 to give them. Now I'm driving illegally waiting on my next SSI check to take it somewhere else. read more

Steve and Phil are MY mechanics!! They've serviced my family's cars for over 15 years. To the point that in the computer under my name is the comment "mr X's daughter". That's how well we are known. I left this review on google as well.... Unfortunately this pains my heart. I was quoted $1100 for the work needed to get my car to run. Under my dads advising I went to another mechanic who fixed my car for $250. I felt maybe the mechanic missed something because I trusted Environmental Auto. As a teacher I'm not rolling in the money so it's really sad when I could've paid $1100 of my hard earned money when my car was fixed efficiently for $257. I give them 2 stars because they do have awesome customer service, text alerts and other features I've never seen at an auto shop. I know some mechanics overcharge for various reasons. Great group of guys here at this repair shop. They take the time to do things right, get you the best deal they can, and explain what they have done. I took my son here for his first car repair after an unfortunate accident and had another positive experience working with them. The turn-around was fast as could be hoped for given the short notice and amount of work needed. Shout out to Phil who does most of the customer service. A real pleasant man to work with. This was my first time using Environmental Automotive Services. I always get nervous when I bring my car to a new shop because I have been burned in the past. But since they had such good reviews I decided to take a chance and I am so glad that I did. My knowledge of vehicles is very limited and I felt that they listened to my poor attempts to explain what was going on with my car. Throughout the day I received calls to inform me on the status of my vehicle and what services they would need to fix my car. They provided me an email with an all over checklist of my car and suggested maintenance. At no point did they try to sell me on any other projects other than what I originally sought repairs for. They gave me the approximate costs of my service along with way giving me worst and best case scenarios. I felt like they were very transparent and easy to work with. New to Maryland and needed a autoshop/guy. I needed to get an oil change and just a routine checkup for my car. Good place to get your car checked out. The only reason why I came here was because i got a fast and honest quote. Everything was straightforward and the owner seemed genuine. The pricing isnt too costly for its services and during my service they didnt try to do any unnecessary add ons. The whole routine was very thorough. What i liked most was that in the end they'll send you a complete and thorough diagnosis of your car about what needs work and what doesn't. I'll come back again. read more

They listened to the issues I was having and worked and investigated until they solved one tricky issue. I saw the response from the owner. While I appreciate his attempt at relieving my confusion, it has been close to 4 years and none of the parts mentioned have been replaced. Of course, you never really know if/when a part will fail, but none of the 3 to 4 other shops I have used since have ever mentioned having them replaced. When I bring my car to the Subaru dealership down here in Glen Burnie MD, it takes days for the parts to arrive. With EAS everything took 24hrs. I appreciate the explanation in full detail and then the variety of choices on how I wish to proceed. I feel like they are looking out for my best interest and not just trying to make a buck. I had a great experience from the moment I walked in the door. I got 2 new tires and my car was ready hours earlier than the promised time. I never felt like they pushed me to get any "extras" done, which would have been easy to do because I am completely clueless about cars. Not only was I happy with my experience, but a weird light came on that concerned me and Phil was EXTREMELY helpful. He talked me through a few things to check on the phone (after hours!) and had me bring my car in the next business day. Everything checked out fine, and he explained to me exactly why the light was on. I got great service and gained a little knowledge, too! I took my '99 Honda Accord in for a "special" 89.95 alignment. First of all that isn't really a special price. Second they then talked my wife into 2 new "cheap" tires before they would do the alignment. The two tires cost me $200, which is not exactly cheep. So my "special " alignment cost me $308. They seemed to be curious and do good work but I was hoping for better economy. read more
