Princess was my go to jewelry store for fine, quality jewelry. They also have previously custom made jewelry for me and my wife. I recently moved to another city and was in town to take care of some outstanding business. Previously I had a custom made men's ring with a gold coin. After a couple of years of wear the coin seemed a bit loose and, although I no longer lived there, they immediately repaired the ring resetting the coin for no charge. Told the lady I had 6 1/2 carat diamonds and a 2 carat Sapphire, and wanted to know if I could have them make up a ring for my wife for around $1500-$2000. The lady actually laughed at me and said "hahaha no absolutely not!" I've never been laughed at by a shopkeeper before. Took my wedding band in to be repaired (missing small diamonds). The wring is very symmetrical with three bands of small diamonds and a large diamond on the engagement band. The engagement band fits in the center of the upper and lower band. Missing three diamonds on one side, the jeweler replaced them. It came back looking lopsided, so he re-did the work. When It came back the second time the symmetry was somewhat better, but the band itself looked completely different. My ring will never be the same. I bought my husbands wedding band here over a year ago. The service was wonderful and we quickly picked a simple band out. It wasn't exactly cheap but that's expected when buying platinum. I bought the size he said he was which turned out to be wayyy to big. He ended up just not wearing a ring for the first year and a half of marriage because we were afraid it would fall off. We spent the last 3 months helping our future son-in-law create a custom engagement ring for our daughter. We worked with a known jeweler in NYC who had helped me with other custom made jewelries in the past. Two weeks before the day the ring is due, the NYC jeweler told us he could not meet the deadline to have the ring made in time. We could not have been more devastated!! I always heard of great reviews on Princess Jewelers but honestly thought they would be too expensive to work with. Nevertheless we came to learn that the horrible situation turned out to be a blessing as it got us to work with Sitha at Princess Jewelers. I met with Sitha on a Monday morning. Gave her the design with very specific requirements with regards to diamond sizes, quality, positions, prong types, etc...... It was not an easy order for sure. Sitha took notes and as we spend that 1 hour together, I knew I could count on Sitha to do it right. Sitha did not rush to accept the order because she wanted to make sure she can deliver the ring in time. Once consulted with her bench jeweler, Sitha accepted our order. The ring was casted, hand crafted, diamond set.... all done in less than 2 weeks. In fact Sitha gave it to us 1 day earlier than committed. The ring turned out absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship was very fine and exquisite. All beyond our expectation and yet it costs us less than what we would have had to pay in NYC. I went to Princess Jewelers for an engagement ring. My fiancee had a picture clipped out of a magazine of her "dream ring", which was very unlike standard rings. Sitha at Princess Jewelers helped me to create a custom ring based on the design, as well as allowing me to incorporate small personal touches. After finalizing the design and choosing the diamonds (all of which were much higher quality than any other diamonds I have seen) Sitha was very good at keeping me informed at what stage the ring was in. Being a custom design, I wasn't able to see or hold what exactly the final product would look like. When I finally got it, I was blown away by the craftsmanship! The way they were able to mold the platinum setting was unbelievable! It looked even better than I expected, and the diamonds were beautiful the way they sparkled in the light! I would definitely recommend going to Princess Jewelers for your engagement ring (we will get the wedding bands there as well), and also take a look around. They specialize in many other jewelry designs and have many other precious gems to look at. A few tips for those who are looking for an engagement ring: 1.) Don't be intimidated if you know nothing about diamonds (I didn't). Sitha and her team will spend a long time with you describing what makes a diamond so beautiful, and which is the best one based on your budget and ring design. 2.) Schedule an appointment. This shop seems to be quite popular, and I am glad I called ahead of time to meet with someone. I can imagine around the holidays they will be even busier, though they seemed to be well staffed.
